This was so dope! Even though Southworth was channeling his inner Vergil t still went well with this character. Eric was always the bad ass loner type in Time Force.

Dan Southworth has essentially been typecast as “characters that are literally just Vergil”. I doubt he’ll ever get a role where they won’t make him do DMC memes.

His winning pose and the duck shot are both from his first fight too. Man they basically recreated his first fight in the trailer. Replacing the monster with Magna Defender.

It's just gawd damn amazing. From what I remember in this game you can't duck, but that move 100% makes it okay because it's unique to him. And it's actually great as a move while also being a TV reference? SO GOOD.

God, now we just need the Quantasaurus-Rex (Q-Rex for short) and it'll be perfect. If we can have the Dragon Zord, we can have the Q-Rex.

Eric has a special place in my heart, one) because he was a badass in Time Force, and two) he was the first secondary Red Ranger in PR history.

I love how this game is simultaneously full of fgc memes, legit honors Power Rangers lore, and essentially recreates some of the best stuff from the MvC series.

Dante was B-Fighter Yanma. Not a Ranger but Reuben had a major role on a Japanese TV show back in the day called B-Fighter Kabuto. Though some of you may know its footage better from a show called Big Bad Beetleborgs.
And Johnny/Nero was the Black Ranger at some point in the original Power Rangers too
They were actors of power rangers johnny was the black ranger and reuben was on the japanese version of power rangers (the sentais)

So I saw Max in a KOF mobile game ad before this.
I'm really loving these trailers. They actually show some sick combos and character mechanics.
Now that I think about it, Eric and Vergil do have fairly similar character arcs up to a point. Chip on their shoulder, feeling that they have something they need to prove, and that gaining more power is the only way to do it.
Must be a thing Daniel Southworth just has a real knack for.

I love everything about this and, seeing possibly my favorite Power Ranger of all time put in, it's getting real tough for me to resist buying this game. The only sad thing is that I didn't see any Q-Rex action.

Rueben Langdon, the voice/motion capture actor of Dante in DMC, has done stunt work on multiple seasons of PR, including some character roles for Time Force. So, recalling Dan's own experience with years of stunt work on PR before landing that major role of dual acting (on-screen + voice-over), our Table Hoppin' CAPCOM liaison here decided to bring him in for auditioning. BUT THERE'S MORE!
Rueben's first major break in the acting industry was actually in a sort of 6th Ranger/Late season main cast addition like Dan, but for a sister series of Toei's Ranger/Sentai brand, "B-Fighter Kabuto". Which, just so happens to be the one season of this "Metal Hero" series that got an American adaptation by Power Ranger's creating company Saban, which was known as "Big Bad Beetleborgs" & "Beetleborgs Metallix". BUT THERE'S MORE!
All these Ranger and Devil May Cry parallels are no coincidence! For you see, the head honcho of DMC 3-5 and more, Hideaki Itsuno, is VERY inspired by robot/mecha shows from Japan, particularly citing their flow of suspenseful action with satisfying payoffs through big victories, and specifically alluding to movie specials for Mazinger Z, and Hurricanger (the source material of Power Rangers Ninja Storm). BUT THERE'S MORE!

For those who don't know. Daniel Southworth was Eric Myers, the original Time Force Quantum Ranger, long before he became vergil. Johnny Young Bosch wasn't the only one who went from ranger to voice actor.

The funny thing is that the Quantum Ranger was basically Vergil before DMC3 existed. He and the Red Ranger had the whole Vergil and Dante dynamic years ago except them being former friends instead of brothers. The Red Ranger in Time Force was even a crazy powerful dude that basically saved the future and destroyed the monsters by himself according to the future records.
