Smugs are a little out of my price range for sneakers, but I did get the Thursday sneakers because of your review. I love your content. So many products are made with shitty materials nowadays and your channel has been super helpful for navigating through the market for the good stuff.
Congratulations! I love your collaborations for their originality. I am also glad that you don't forget the brands that do great things in the direction that may have inspired you. :)
I love the silhouette and style, especially of the smugs. I just wish there was an option with a thicker sole/more cushion. Smugs with air max technology! Or just a few extra layers
You just need to ease in. Your feet will get stronger. The concept of support is just because most people have weak feet. Unless you are on concrete like 12 hrs a day standing still, you probably don't need the cushion. Even walking a lot on hard surfaces you are probably good.
I got a pair of cacao Thursday sneakers a few months after the cut-in-half video, couldn't be happier! Can't believe I've spent that much on Nikes and what not over the years, not even comparable.
I love the concept of SMUGS and really respect your dedication to your craft. Honestly and integrity are rare commodities in social media and it’s refreshing to see a young entrepreneur succeed without screwing people over. Chapeau 🎩.
I am very happy with my SMUGS. I took them as my only footwear for a week in NY City, and man did they perform 💪. I am looking forward to getting some Crown Northampton whole cuts. Cheers!
Problem with the Thursdays is that sole wears down pretty quickly and they are not resolable. Loved mine, but decided to pay more for SMUGS and a pair of Koios because they can be resoled rather than contribute to the landfill with another pair of Thursdays.
I purchased several Beckett Simonon sneakers and they were wonderfully hand made with really high quality leather. On top of that, the prices were much affordable. Highly recommended.
I had the Thursdays premier low top. They're quite heavy, but to be expected because of the leather and the sole, which is thick rubber. The problem is that the sole wears down quite quickly if you walk in them frequently, which could be a problem if you're a heel striker or walk in such a way that you put pressure on specific parts of the sole. Also the sole is quite firm, hard and not flexible. The shoes will cause toe rubbing (prepare to bleed like a real man), until the leather is broken in, after which its soft enough....but they're not going to be as soft as other sneakers in the same style...the leather is thick, which is also part of the appeal. The laces are cool because they're leather and add to the look, but are hard to tighten and to adjust because the leather doesnt slide easily in the eyelets. I walked with them in the rain, and water did get in around my toes after about 5 minutes of hard rain. The leather scuffs quite quickly around the ankle part of the shoe because the cuffs of your pants rub against the leather, which gives it light brown scuffing. This may or may not look cool, depending on your taste. Also, a common problem with these is that the inner heel lining gets worn down and exposes the under part, like two round holes (in the area at the back of your heel). It happens to all of them is a common issue, but doesnt really matter as its not visible and for me, did not cause discomfort.
I bought a pair of MUGGS last year. (The Smugs looks like the same type of construction.) They’re good looking and I love the shearling, but noticed something weird. They were really uncomfortable until I bought insoles with some arch support. I’ve had other sneakers without much support, but my feet didn’t ache that much after wearing them. I have heritage boots from Whites, Nicks and Franks, and even they were more comfortable (but they admittedly have a lot of arch support.) Once I put the insoles in and laced super tight, they were more comfortable.
happy to see you did a review on archibald london but just an FYI they do not do a split leather anymore. They did a full grain leather floorboard on their V3. I think you might also like their Japanese made jeans
Like knife makers make Hugh end knifes then make a budget version you should do that make a pair for 100/175 range and just see what u could change but leave the leather and good souls and all that, they'd still be better then anything else in that price range and so many more of us could get a pair that will last awhile and in are price range lol thk u love n learn alot from you, keep it up peace
Can we use waxes like wonder balsam or dubbin by doc martens for white leather shoes like the koios? I assume we can use those waxes on like the brown sneakers that you just showed right? Or do you have any recommendations on how to take care of white sneakers?
I have the black vachetta hi tops from Thursdays. Mine have a rather thick removable foam insole. Yet even so...with the hard & thin outsole they use...I actually prefer my captains lol. For me, most of the $$ spent is on the leather upper & not much else.
I am sure, if you would put apart a pair of sneakers from Tommy Jeans (Hilfiger) or CK Calvin Klein, say some 100 to 200 bucks price range - it won't end up good for these brands, in terms of material quality / leather....
My wife and I bought the Thursdays sneakers based on your recommendations. Oh boy, was it a disappointment. The soles had significant visible wear within 2 weeks. Compared to our Oliver Cabel and Allen Edmonds that lasted for years and still going. I don't know what happened to Thursdays. I've had their boots from years ago and it's still great. Stay away from their sneakers.
I have owned a pair of Thursday hightops and the fit was so off and comfortable that they were unwearable, even with correct sizing. They also looked quite dumb in person, when compared to other high tops. Would not recommend
Thursday is hot dogshit. I bought their white premier low tops and now I know I'll never buy anything from them again. Took 4 tries to get a good fit, but they will crease like NO OTHER. One shoe looks like an 80 year old grocery bag and the other has an enormous crease only in the toe box. Wore them twice and can never wear them again because of how different the shoes look from each other.
Three hundred dollars for a pair of sneakers? That’s a bid much. No thanks. Thursday’s, Becket Simonon are better value. Smugs might have a somewhat better materials, but 300 dollars they are not.

Pick up some Rose Anvil camera gear here - bit.ly/48KYWYK
The camera harness, was thinking you call KB at Q for their rifles as a sling. They are gonna make a Mega Fix rifle for hunting.

I did the same and they have really held up to regular wear. Such a good shoe.

For me Thursdays didn’t work because of their weird last. They were too narrow, even the EE version, and the back part were really uncomfortable
My drifter 3.0s already shipped. They will be here Wednesday it wont even be four weeks since they dropped
My email never got sent for the email list so I ordered mine 2 mins after the main release and I'm gonna have to wait the 12 weeks.

Actually bought the Thursday cacao high tops based off your review and it was an insanely good decision
I would love to see you review a Jenon leather shoe!
Love your videos!
i have a pair of those archibald cordovans, they're powerful
We need stuff like this with wide toe boxes!
Please make a wide foot version of this video 😊
I love my Thursdays. Its a bummer theyre not resoleable but ill pony up for some smuggs when they die
Would you consider reviewing Piloti shoes. They’re the only driving shoes that appear to me made well, but I haven’t ever seen them properly reviewed

Excited for the blood core items you offer on the site
Could you do a review the Koio Milo?
i am interested which brand has a wide last or options ?
I wonder how Asphalte's "The classic sneakers" would compare. If you preorder them, they would be the cheapest.
What’s your suggestions on the best budget sneakers under $150?
i wanna point out most of thursday's "cxl" ish leather is made by the lefarc tannery, although there are some horween products here and there
Could you review the Triple A Sneakers from Asphalte? Little niche brand from France. Think you'll be impressed 👌
Can you cut up the new showtime and on court Thursday sneakers?
barefoot shoellie though?? Thinking about getting some :)
NAh I mean I'm definitely getting a black pair, but I guess it's just not a sneaker...
Can you checkout Frye boots?
Which one has the widest toe box?
Does anyone know who has a thicker leather insole, the smug or the crown Northampton?
Technically, Archibald isn't good year welt, it's norwegian stitch + side wall outsole stitch. 😊
The Loake sprint all white sneaker is the best all white sneaker on the market. They are back in stock.
pls do the paraboot micheals
I got a pair of Dr Martens JOOLS. where do those fit in here?

Give me a low top pair of SMUGs and I’ll buy two. I’m just not a high top guy.
Please make this shoe in a wide toe.
I'd still prefer Converse Chuck Taylors or Addidas over all of these mentioned sneakers.
First!
