Just had my tonsils out 2 days ago. The recovery at 35 years old is brutal so far. This has been the most relaxing thing I’ve watched since being in recovery. Look at those *Shakira* boots! They are gorgeous!
I’ve got these exact ones. Had them three months and got 40 hours or so on them. I got wide feet (EE). They have broken in well and are now easy to ear all day. Flawless construction. Paid 360 or there abouts. Easily compares with Wesco and Whites and Trumans (got all those so personal experience) . Saw comment on toe box concern. No worries on that. They took about nine months from order to my door. Certainly worth the wait. Thanks for supporting small artisan brands.
I don't remember him mentioning the last in this video. Are there multiple lasts to choose from? Or just one? Based on your feedback it sounds like it's got to be a wide last right? What about the height on the toe box?
@@Nickporter17 Single last AFAIK, not sure if there are different lasts for the Wanes (Service Boot) and Tukano ("Jumper" boot.) If you're thinking about jumping in during the next order window, send an email to Andres. He'll get back to you and get your questions answered. After the Wyatt and Dad (Cobblers) video where they tore a pair of Tukanos all the way apart, I'm pretty convinced that at this point at least the value on these is fantastic. The only problem I've identified from many complaints is the turnaround time on orders is long to the point of being borderline insane. I get it, good things come to those who wait, but when you live in the Southeast and only have a 4 to 5 month boot wearing season to begin with, the difference in the 4 to 5 month wait that Carl references versus the 10+ months that some customers are still going through becomes very meaningful. I think Carl, Dale, Teik and other influencers just get their Bordons more quickly than the rest of us because, well, influencers. LOL. That said, I'm all in on them. Feel like I've seen enough and they make a quality product. Have a pair of Wanes "Save the Ocean" in the Stead Mohawk on order, along with this exact Tukano (Chestnut Latigo). Some of their new leather colors from Wicked and Craig is Harness instead of Latigo, it's pure veg tanned instead of combo, but the surface finish on it marks up if you look at it the wrong way. Some people are all about the wear and tear, but I tend toward boot leathers that are a little more resilient. Take that for what it's worth. Best of luck to you. Cheers! 🥃
I ordered mine back in december batch (still wating). Same Tukano V2, just with the itshide comando sole. Customer service by Andrés is excellent! Regards from México!
I made the same Bordons shown in your video my first high-end boot order ever last month. Super encouraging to hear that your thoughts on these closely paralleled mine. I just hope they arrive before I die...
Great video and beautiful boots! Bordon's customer service is very helpful and part of the reason I'm waiting for a pair of Isidros(chelseas). Their experts informed me that their chelsea's toe-box is definitely rounder than the Thursday captain and possibly comparable to the redwing iron ranger. I put this out there if anyone else is struggling with finding high-end chelseas shaped like feet, rather than "almonds".
I ordered these exact boots in December, and I'm still waiting for delivery. The company does send periodic emails with the status of the boot build which is great.
With veg tanned leather you can wet them (on the outside) and wear them to speed up the break in. Condition them afterwards since veg tanned leather will stiffen up significantly after getting wet and drying.
Natalia and Andrés are the best at communicating with customers. I am waiting for my Tucanos, and whenever I get a little impatient, I shoot them a question and the answer is promptly. Great brand, great boots, and awesome human beings. (Shakira, Shakira)
I'll admit I did geek out when you commented on Teik's channel. For everyone else, if you like footwear Teik's channel is worth a watch. Just to let you know, it's an Australian thing but at the beginning of each video he does an acknowledgement. For some reason it throws off non Aussies.
I really enjoy his videos, but I’ve never understood why that acknowledgment upsets people. I see the complaints in comments, and he’s had to explain why that’s just an Aussie thing that has to be done. It’s no harder to get used to than non-American content creators having to disclose sponsored reviews in different ways.
Just bought a pair of Wanes thanks in large part to this video. Ordered mine in Cinnamon Waxed Flesh, which I think looks absolutely gorgeous, and even paid a little extra for a pull tab. I understand there's going to be quite the wait for them, but I'm super excited all the same. Thanks for such a great video!!
Great video Carl. I agree on all of your points. Personally I really like the pull tab. I got my Tukano’s about a month ago and immediately emailed Teik to share my excitement. The boots have had a fair bit of wear !!
Nice boots from Colombia, however you may want to check out Boulet boots from Canada. Making boots since the ‘50s, they are best known as one of the major manufacturers of cowboy boots in North America. Also make great boots in the Red Wing/Bordon style, great stitching, comfortable, solid construction at a great price. Worth your while!
Spot on. Be ready for a wait. As of April 5th (date of this comment) I am still waiting for my boots ordered on July 26, 2023. So heading into month 9 I think? I'm encouraged by this review though, sounds like they will be worth the wait. Shakira.
I also ordered a pair right around that time. I finally emailed them earlier this week and was told that it was estimated to ship out end of next week, so your boots are probably also going to be in the same batch.

Love what Caswell is doing with their products right now. If only they produced anything above a US size 12, that's about a size and a half less than I would need to have a pair I could enjoy. The owner is a cool customer with a clear vision, and their product is top notch. 👍
Im glad to see they also have wide sizing. Hi Carl, Serious question - did you get paid by the manufacturer for this, or is it an organic review with no financial or other compensation received? There are too many "this is a great product [ and I am getting paid but will keep that part secret from the viewers] on every topic from medications to car parts, etc. With "Project Farm" we trust him because we know he buys everything he reviews.
I am waiting for their Wanes Save the Ocean limited edition. I ordered them in August. They have a new production line and they are still making adjustments. They wrote me they prefer to take their time rather than compromise the quality. I hope they will be as good as the boots of this video.
I got a pair of boots from them, they are well made and feel great. But I have two issues with this brand, one is the wait time, it took 7 months to receive the boots. The 2nd issue is the speedy hooks bend easily. I was surprised how weak they are. Never had an issue with speed hooks with other boots. Eventually, I will probably have to replace them and put a better set of speed hooks. I will probably get another pair in a interesting leather in the future.
I loved this video because I have a pair in that color coming; ordered at beginning of january, and they may still be months away. :( It gave me hope that they will be worth the wait. :)
I went for the Isidro Chelseas in green Wicket and Craig Latigo. Absolutely beautiful boots; I dare say nicer than my Grant Stones. I paid $349 last year, prices are definitely rising.
I’m split between the Isidro and the Grant Stone dark oak roughout chelsea. I have the v1 Tukano and Iron Rangers, so I’d rather go with a boot style I don’t have yet. Good to hear that they’re comparable to someone who has them both. The inflation is definitely hitting both of them lately, so I’d better make up my mind before they’re $500.
@@MemphisCorollaS It all depends on what you want in a Chelsea. The Isidro’s with a commando sole have a great rugged look that the Grant Srone’s don’t have. On the other hand, the Grant Stone’s will arrive in a few days vs. waiting 6 months. It’s a tough choice.

However, latigo leather is about as tough as it gets from my experience with the leather in use as of all things a latigo (cinch, for people whose horse culture was unaffected by the Spanish) on saddles. It literally stands up to high mineral salt content sweat and repeated soaking/drying cycles.
