    I've had hypothryodism since 1996, on thyroid medication. A complete hysterectomy in 93, was on HRT until 2018, went off and all the debilitating symptoms began, which led me to a host of doctors and specialists. Recently in past 2 weeks back on low dose HRT.
    I had cortisol blood test couple weeks ago, and it returned a little elevated, than a "one" night time saliva test was done and it returned 204 ug/dl, on high side, next step is a suppression test to check for Cushings Syndrome or Disease. If it's not that, wondering what supplement to take for high cortisol as I don't want to take medications if I don't have too.

    Hi Janelle, how safe is it to take adrenal supplements such as cortex and phostadytlserine daily? For some reason when I take PS it makes me energetic which is good, but also a bit "shaky irritable". On the other hand cortex, helps, but makes me really sleepy, so I actually take that to help me sleep and not during day. It is a bit strange, so wondering if there are any potential pitfalls of taking these two supplements every day long term. Thanks.

    I have been struggling with anxiety/depression for 10 years or so. I have recently tried Ashwagandha root powder and it seemed to help for the first week or so but now when I take it I notice my resting heart rate is much higher then normal and I get more dizzy spells. Only taking recommended dose on the package. Recently watched your blood sugar video and got me thinking so I took my blood sugar and after eating I have a 90mg after eating reading. Checked last night after fasting for 4-5 hours and was 80mg reading. I’m trying a magnesium/calcium/zinc mixture to try and help. Would love to see a video on l theanine as well. Nervous about trying 5-htp. Sorry for long winded comment just so many questions and not many results for me. Thank you so much for your videos!

      Ashwagandha can increase thyroid function. That's good if your thyroid is underfunctioning. However hyperthyroidism (high thyroid function) can be exacerbated by ashwagandha. You may like to ask your doctor to make sure hyperthyroidism isn't contributing to your anxiety.

    What are your thoughts on taking several of these to help with chronic lack of sleep. Recent bloods showed low DHEAs and lower cortisol. I have been experiencing some kidney pain (thinking this is my adrenals screaming at me as well). Previous bloods had me with higher cortisol, I am thinking I may be actually in an adrenal crash phase. I have not slept good for several years despite diligently working towards that goal with every bio hack and supplement I can find info on.
    Considering the following to help get my adrenals sorted out (all from your above recommendations and my ongoing use of Thorne for supplements):
    Stress B complex
    Adrenal Cortex
    Viamin C with flavonoids
    I generally only like to add or subtract on thing from my supplements list at a time to allow me to really data log any changes, but I am frazzled. I need to SLEEP!

    I just got my blood results back from EverlyWells Female Hormone Test. I am worried and would appreciate someone’s help or opinion! I am 24. I’ve been very tired for the past few years, and I am losing my hair. I have also been experiencing low blood pressure the past few weeks (101/50) and recently fainted due to LB.
    I tested positive for TPO Antibodies.
    Both my progesterone (2.8ml) and cortisol (0.3ml) are very low.
    FSH high at (10.0ml)
    Yet my TST (2.4ml) T3 (2.8ml) T4 (1.4ml) are in range
    Is this PCOS, HYPOTHYROIDISM, OR ADRENAL FATIGUE?
    Please someone help me!!!

    • @tiffanyhackler7788
      @tiffanyhackler7788 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jessie0078 I was finally diagnosed with both PCOS & Hashimotos last year. I found out that the low cortisol was caused by an underlying Candida infection which damaged my adrenals temporarily, all back in range now. I didn’t want to go the birth control pill or hormonal replacement route for either, so I decided to switch my diet after researching online from other people suffering with both. For the past seven months I’ve been following a Whole Food Plant Based diet, with only minimal amounts of meat, which include only chicken and fish. I only eat them twice a week, and cut out all dairy completely aswell as gluten and I cut out sugar and any processed foods. Ever since I did that, my TPO Antibodies have come back negative three times in a row. So I’m not sure if it was the infection I had, or my body may have been reacting to the gluten. I have been exercising more, and making sure to get plenty of sleep. I recommend you going to an endocrinologist like I did, to get a actual diagnosis. Then if you are up for experimenting before they stick you on medication, I highly recommend looking at your diet first. A lot of my problems, especially with my PCOS was caused by insulin resistance because I wasn’t eating healthy. I’ve been supplementing with selenium capsules and omega 3 for my Thyroid, and I’ve been drinking spearmint tea and taking saw palmetto capsules to lower my testosterone, my progesterone has raised ever since I changed my diet and vegan a consistent exercise regimen. I also take Ovasitol (inositol) powder, which has helped with balancing my hormones and improved my ovarian function overall. Diet is key though! Your body is reacting to something. Hope this helps. Wish you the best of luck and hope you get better!

    Balancing my blood sugars and taking a selenium supplement (on a Paleo diet) healed my anxiety and my chronic insomnia.
    But lately I've tried ashwagandha because all the doctors recommend it.
    But after a week of use, it gave me anxiety so I couldn't sleep.
    I had to take magnesium, passion flower, potassium salts etc to calm me.
    I suppose I have low cortisol since I have chronic fatigue, but I still don't know.
    Is the cortisol low or high in adrenal fatigue?

    • @WestTexasTumbleweeds
      @WestTexasTumbleweeds 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ashwaganda can’t be taken after 2 pm or it can interfere with sleep. Should be taken early am and/or lunch time. Your dose could’ve been too high.

      But honestly I am afraid to use any adaptogens because of what happened to me.

    • @WestTexasTumbleweeds
      @WestTexasTumbleweeds 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Arrasel I think the key is to start with a low dose of whatever you’re trying and build up. My dr had me start Licorice tea however I haven’t noticed a difference with anything. Very pleasant flavor. I’ve just been scouting around TH-cam for other things I can do for my adrenals. The best thing I’ve done was to go on a carnivore diet. My energy and strength has improved 80%. I’ve been on it 3 months.

    Hello, great advice thank you ! Do you think it could be good to also take a glandular extract from the adrenal medulla ? Wouldn’t that favor a more balanced healing of the adrenals ? Because the one you recommended in this video only contains adrenal cortex extract. When I take that one I have a feeling of imbalance like it helps only the top of my adrenals and not the bottom part.... of course that is just a sensation but I find that my intuition and feelings are actually very important and have to be taken into account along more the more traditional methods of diagnosis that lab tests are. I hope you can answer ! Thank you so much !
