  • While this COVID-19 is happening it gives me a chance to get a few more things done to my 4WD I call "Caspa" as in the white ghost that goes everywhere.
    In this video, I'm showing you what I did in preparation and the installation process of the Titan draw system.
    This is another video in the series of updates on "Caspa" My 80 series 1992 Toyota Landcruiser wagon that I purchased in 2018. I am slowly doing up ready to start using as a daily driver and also for getting away camping and visiting more of Australia with.
    Follow my journey as I get it ready to use, most of the mechanical work I try to do myself saving money but there are just some jobs I cannot do due to lack of equipment and some tools or the appropriate mechanical knowledge and experience etc..
    All corrective work since I purchased the vehicle in December 2018 is carried out by me. Issues and Fun related to doing 4WD repairs yourself.
    ** Disclaimer. I am not a qualified mechanic. I am self-taught and everything I have learnt is through experience or from finding out information myself via asking questions of qualified mechanics or via TH-cam over the years. If You are unsure what to do, please ask or get a qualified mechanic to do the job for you.
    I am based in the inner western suburbs of Melbourne Victoria Australia.
    Thanks for watching.
    Tim.

      No I cannot rebuild the transmissions. I have no knowledge of them and there are soo many variations. I leave that to the professionals. Thanks for the comment tho.

    Hey mate. Any tips regarding where to drill for the rear bolts?

    • @TimsBitsnPieces
      @TimsBitsnPieces  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, are you talking the bolts near the rear doors or the ones at the rear of the draws nearest to the back seat?

    • @harrisonrosnell4104
      @harrisonrosnell4104 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, the ones nearest to the back seat. I have the DX model and it didn’t come with the pre drilled holes.

      @@harrisonrosnell4104 Mine is a DX also and didn't have any holes that lined up with the metal plate at the bottom of the draw carcase so I just drilled 2 holes slightly closer to the outer edge than the centre along the line of the plate that had holes in it, you can see where the bolt heads are at 5:57. Then cut and put a piece of metal plate underneath the body about 10cm long and 5cm wide with a hole in the middle of it to allow the bolt to go through it and then just put a bolt through it all and fitted a locking washer and used a nylon locking nut underneath. I had to get help to fasten them up as my arms are not that long tho. The plate underneath gives strength to the nut so it doesn't get pulled through the body in the case of an accident or severe movement of the draws. I hope that helps. Tim.

    I don’t mean to sound like a critic but it Would have been good to see you do the bolt down of the drawers as people would need to know not to drill into the tanks. Also there’s only 10min of actual video and the rest is blank. Thankyou for the video though it was good to see someone doing this on the 92 Diesel 1HZJ80R. 😎👍🏻

      That's strange as I only made it a 10 min video. not sure why its longer.. hmm maybe youtube did something to it when I uploaded it.. I'll see what I can find re the bolting of the draws, I'm not sure I have footage of it as I was busy doing it not filming it..

    Great video. What length draws did you buy?

    • @TimsBitsnPieces
      @TimsBitsnPieces  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ones that were the specified size for my 80 series Landcruiser from 4wd supacentre. Sorry I don't know or didn't know there was various lengths available.
