Hi, this is a very useful tutorial about how you can DIY this retrofit. I recently perform it on Skoda Octavia 2 2007 and I want also to share some tricks about it: 1. The original metal holder for mirror can be detached using a normal lighter and a towel plus a razor blade to clean the surface after. 2. You can paint with black primer and incorporate the original black paint, in my case, the paint is between glass layers. Also, the primer will do adhesive more resistant and protect it against sun. 3. I personally used adhesive for windshield because is resistant at temperature and holds pretty good. 4 Before put the sensor on windshield, spray the interior of new bracket holder with glass cleaner, in this way, you will obtains a perfect seal between sensor and glass without any bubble and the glass cleaner will be removed itself.

@@vladimirvrab2323 Hi, I used Teroson PU8597. For the black paint I used teroson primer with ground. But you can search for Teroson kit and most probably you will found it. In my country I found it at around 18 Euro.

Hi, great video and great tutorial overall. Got one question. I recently bought Mk6 golf and it doesn't have auto dimming mirror but it's a manual one, and I'm planning on switching it, to have light sensor and rain sensor, but one thing I don't understand is how am I going to connect the wiring from the mirror all the way to the fuse box? I also have the mk5 which has a factory mounted auto dimming mirror and I assume it goes into the roof of the car and somehow connects to the fuse box? If you know by any chance is it possible to do that, and does it require a lot of work to do it would really be helpfull.

@@simalex19 just a tip for future. Put away your sander and spend $5 on a glue remover liquid spray and wait 10 minutes for it to react. Then use a box cutter blade to slice it off-no damage anywhere.
