That's exactly what I was thinking! Worshipping my entire life, standing in the between my parents, listening to their harmonies, and being so proud that I was their daughter!
This is one of my favorite hymns. What a magnificent gift from these two masters! ♥️

This song was played at my Grandfather’s funeral service. He was sure of where he was going to be. It is the same for us. We can all be well if we just believe in the Lord Jesus. Peace.

Amen! So true. We sang this hymn at all my grandparents’ funerals, my dad’s, my sister’s, and very recently my mom. They all passed much too young. It’s definitely been very hard and right now it’s just brutal at times. I know where they are and they all looked forward to seeing Jesus face to face. Jesus is what gets me through each day. One day I too will be with Him and all my loved ones again.
Sadly we don't hear this kind of music in our churches today.
Wonderful arrangement
Absolutely breathtaking. One of the best duets I've ever heard of this powerful hymn. I am not kidding when I say that as I was listening to this, I thought to myself, "I hope that it sounds like this when we worship God in the eternities one day." Thank you!!

I think it’s something about this piano’s brightness that makes it work especially well
@@aslscott78 It doesn't seem odd to me since it's fairly standard to play one or the other in the vast majority of worship settings, and so playing them together is really the anomaly. That said, it really comes down to preference, and that gets us to a deep dive into why we find anything at all to be beautiful and artful. It's seldom purely a matter of choice and often not something the consciousness is privy to. Maybe it's better just to say, it's not my cup of tea. Or, maybe more accurately, I have a taste for tea in the genre that's not often served. :)
Both are good and play well together, but the pianist is just mind blowing. What talent!
A beautiful hymn written by Philip Bliss, a famous hymnwriter in the 1800's who also wrote many other beautiful hymns.

This is one of my favorite songs to be played on an organ and piano!
I had to check my pulse - I thought I died and was entering the Kingdom of Heaven and this was what my LORD wanted me to hear when I greet and meet and HIM someday and he says to me: " Well done good and faithful servant" . I was a Church Organist for 40+ years and this was one of my many favorite Hymns to perform. I had the honor to play it at my Mother's Funeral. One of the most beautiful hymns ever penned. Horatio Spafford's inspiration for the song is truly heartbreaking. The faith the man had to be able to say "It is well with my soul", is astounding.

To @dinallina So sorry you don't have that available but look around your city. So proud to say that my church still has piano and organ, in fact I am the lucky organist with two great pianists. We also have a 25-voice choir that sings an anthem EVERY SINGLE WEEK ALL YEAR LONG. We are so fortunate to have a wonderful choir director who even has her master's degree in music! She met her husband in NYC while both of them were auditioning for the Metropolitan Opera Company! We sing five (old-fashioned) great hymns EVERY WEEK! We have a choir anthem and also a music special solo, duet or even trio all every Sunday ... in our small church of 200!!! We have good, solid, preaching and we are growing. We are so fortunate. And we have evening service every Sunday too! (And all of this wonderfulness is in a small city in CALIFORNIA even! Menifee.) Unfortunately, they don't broadcast the full service, just the sermon...but I'll keep trying.

I am not certain of the organ being entirely electronic. Modern computer switching allows a pipe organ to be played using fiber optic or at least small interconnecting cables that could make this possible with pipes.
