Just take a look around - they are there! The trouble is that the most of these peoples are not so much visible but they are there and they are realizing their innermost believes - I believe that, I hope that! They are our future in a good way
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my soul!
Yes, and what moves me the most is "My sin - not in part, but the whole - is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord oh my soul!"
1 When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, "It is well, it is well with my soul." Refrain It is well with my soul; it is well, it is well with my soul. 2 Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blest assurance control: that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and has shed his own blood for my soul. Refrain 3 My sin oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! my sin, not in part, but the whole, is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more; praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! Refrain 4 O Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll; the trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend; even so, it is well with my soul. Refrain
The man who wrote 'It is well with my soul' wrote the words following the death of his four children in a maritime disaster as he was devout Christian and attorney. It is a very emotional hymn to be sure that has the endurance of faith regardless of circumstances for every believer.
Gorgeous. Years ago, I softly sang this song at my mother's bedside before she passed away; then again at her funeral some days later. The hymn means much to me. Thank you for sharing your musicianship.
Oh, what a lovely recollection! My mother was a church organist for close to fifty years, and used this hymn as the recessional at nearly every funeral she played for. And I played it at hers. It means a great deal to me as well. "The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend".
I really appreciate your channel. My Dad was an organist from the age of 13. He graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Mass. Your playing brings back many wonderful memories! Thank you!
I went to a Ghanaian funeral at an Anglican church in London last year - this was the hymn sung as the mourners filed past the coffin to pay their respects - which took about 15 minutes and thus several repetitions for the bemused organist - but the mourners all knew it off by heart - it was quite a moment!
@@Marcel_AudubonBemused as in puzzled. One of the most experienced members of the RCO, he said afterwards he'd not come across the hymn before (neither had I), and more importantly didn't know how long the filing past was going to go on. But I'm sure you have a better word in your vocabulary for a professional organist on edge, so do please substitute. My music theory teacher, a voluble South African lady, had a penchant for building her latest tale of woe towards a crescendo of "my dear, I nearly had a cadenza!".
Beautifully played Ben. You are a joy to listen to. It is a great pleasure to detect that you are very spiritual. So rare to see these days in someone so young. Clearly you are an old soul. May God Bless you and keep you safe all the days of your life and beyond. Martin, South Wales.
Another classic performance from a true professional. Absolutely awesome and first class as always. Speaks to my soul 🙏 Blessings and grateful thanks to you Ben from Scotland much appreciated
Agreed, it is a sad story but beautifully showcases that in any adversity, our Lord and Savior is with us. The fact that you have never heard it before, and instantly loved it, speaks to the power of hymns to move hearts.
I am loving and appreciating all of your videos , God bless you and i hope that one day you might see this comment and play ' There is a Green Hill far away ' , for us , thankyou .
That was my poor grandmother's favourite hymn. She taught it to me as a child and when she was no longer able to get about would have me sit beside her armchair and sing it for her. Thank you for mentioning it and reminding me of it. Tears in eyes here now!
Please keep playing. Touchingly beautiful. Thank gid you have the intelligence and ability to keep this light burning. Western civilization is in your debt.
Ben is so cool. I love these little church organs. I can just about play what I call the “great hymns of the church “ but only for my own pleasure. Haha!
This was one of the most often sung hymns in the hymnbook of our little church, but the words were totally different -- "There is rest, there is peace, in the fold".
Dung sonang rohangku dibaen Jesus i, porsuk pe hutaon dison, na pos do rohangku di Tuhanta i, dipasonang tongtong rohangkon. Sonang do, sonang do, dipasonang tongtong rohangkon. Lagu yang sangat menginspirasi...
Beautiful interpretation! I echo another comment, yes, meeting in heaven will indeed be heaven! An Eternity of praise and worship! Maybe I will even be able to play the organ ad well.😇
My aunt passed away 2 years ago, so they had to play this song😢🥺😔😪
Not just the church, the whole world needs more people like young Ben.
Just take a look around - they are there! The trouble is that the most of these peoples are not so much visible but they are there and they are realizing their innermost believes - I believe that, I hope that! They are our future in a good way
I am a young, learning organist hwr eine nebraska, not super young but in my 30's and i love playing
Amen!

Thank you Ben for such beautiful renditions of hymns of the faith. What an excellent way to praise God!
A very grand rendition of this Hymn, I could see you playing the Tabernacle organ in Salt Lake City.
@@waynevaughan7159 I love the choir
Beautifully played Ben. Such a moving, sad story behind the writing of this hymn by Horatio Spafford and yet he could write 'It is well with my soul'
His story is heartbreaking and triumphant.
Ben, thank you for playing that. I hope we meet in heaven some day! That was awesome.
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, o my soul!
it's a stunning thought, isn't it?
I love this hymn. You are a fantastic organist. Thank you!
The same thing happens to me when I sing this at church or when I hear it.
They played this last Sunday at Mass during Communion. Very difficult for me to sing as tears were running from my eyes unbidden.
Yes, and what moves me the most is "My sin - not in part, but the whole - is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord oh my soul!"
Know the feeling
Beautiful!
1 When peace like a river attendeth my way,

"It is well, it is well with my soul."
Refrain
It is well with my soul;

Thank you for the words here. ❤

My wish to have this sung at my funeral

An inspiring, truthful playing of It Is Well With My Soul. Thank you.
