OMG 😮. I found Waterboys a year ago. they wrote prob the most impactful tribute to the heart, soul, and song of a woman ever, in my 66 years. It's called "Whole Of The Moon" BEAUTIFUL. But, 'The Killers' did a cover of it in a live @ TRNSMT Festival!! There are no words. LEE, also you would love lyrics of Waterboys "This Is The Sea"
They had so many touching songs... surprised to see someone reviewing the Waterboys. Please do "The Whole of the Moon" by them. The intro to Don't Bang the Drum just draws you in with Spanish trumpets... and then it kicks into it with the driving drums and Mike Scott's distinctive voice and emotional power
Their first couple of albums have that BIG anthemic sound I love, then celtic rock. A fav. Whole of the moon is an amazing song. Mike Scott is the real deal.
I’ve loved this song since 88 - very big on college campuses back in the day and ever since, for me anyway - this album is fantastic- they also do a sublime cover of Van Morrison’s Sweet Thing. A great pick and a nice surprise!
Too Close To Heaven is their another 13 minutes long masterpiece. We Will Not Be Lovers has also thumping bass part if you loved it here. My Wanderings in a Weary Land has fantastic fiddle solo. Brilliant
They've done some major stuff like This is The Sea and A Church not made with Hands you would really like and on and on also great solo albums by Mike Scott, i particularly like Bring em all in. Live they play really loud and blow you away.
Oh my god! One of my fave’s I met Mike in Nov last year. I’ve been a fan since 1984/5 My first proper gig was the Fishermans Blues tour in ‘89 One if my lyrical heroes.
Every time I hear this I kick myself in the ass for quitting violin lessons. "The Whole of the Moon" is probably their most well known song and definitely one you should hear - not as traditional, but truly inspired.
Beautiful. I was DJing between bands at a small festival in the U.K, the band due to come on were folkish & I had led towards their style & played this as the track before they played, the lead singer turned & said "This is my most favourite tune." I smiled & felt good.
This is the Sea is still my favorite by them, but you can't go wrong with Fisherman's Blues. Off this record, I'd go with We Will Not Be Lovers, A Bang on the Ear, or World Party. You may also want to check out A Man is in Love for a little burst of that folksier old-world music. Glastonbury Song is another winner but a very noticeable shift in styles again.
I left this comment before...but it got ate. The song is on my car playlist. I first heard the song on KPIG and went out and bought the album. Another good one is the album from Loreena McKennitt called Nights From The Alhambra. Which is easy to find on the internet.
This is a great song but there are so many more by Great Big Sea, The Rankins, The Barra McNeils, Spirit of the West, Rawlins Cross, The Irish Rovers and more! Great selection.
Wow what a great choice! This is one of my favourite songs ever, if not the most.
Wow! I see why. It's beautiful. So authentic.
Me too I remember when this came out it was on the radio I went to see them in this tiny little club in Boston. Live music was everywhere then
Another terrific song that you just won't hear anywhere else, nowadays. Congratulations, Lee!
Yall are the best! Yall the know best stuff.
one of my favorite albums. listened to it backpacking through Ireland
The waterboys are brilliant band been fan for ages
Bouziki is like a guitar sized mandolin you’ll sometimes hear in Celtic folk.

I recently heard that a friend was at a funeral, and they played “This Is the Sea”. I got full body chills.
@@ronbock8291 I know. It's just beautiful.
One of my favourite songs

Fisherman's Blues and Room to Roam are fantastic albums.
Great pick Jellybean!

Excellent Reaction Man!!!
Another biggie for me. I saw them live in Portsmouth (UK) in 1989/90 ❤
Try “Red Army Blues”
I'll have to look into more from them! I really enjoyed this
@@L33Reacts Great! A Pagan Place, Trumpets, This is the Sea, all captivating 😎❤️
Missed the premiere sadly.
Love this band. You might want to also check out Whole of the Moon.
Saw them live recently
Still as great as ever
Niiiiicccccce! I saw them on this tour. Top three shows of all time.

I haven't heard this in a long time. I thought it was Bob Dylan!😅 Good pick❤
Great, great album ❤
This song is a banger but Whole of the Moon is an anthem 👍
One of the best songs of all time ❤

Got to meet the bassist on tour with his band Lunasa. Trevor Hutchenson, a swell fella...
The Waterboys Glastonbury Song is sure to speak to you, Lee. "I just found God where he always was!"
Love Irish trad/Pop bands!
This is a great song but there are so many more by Great Big Sea, The Rankins, The Barra McNeils, Spirit of the West, Rawlins Cross, The Irish Rovers and more! Great selection.
Checkout "Bang on the Ear" great tune!
Great band
Red Army Blues! It’ll blow you away.
Good one Lee! Always loved this track!
They have changed their sound constantly through the years. Tbh i did prefer the 'big music' era best my favorite is A girl called Johnny.
i love when a band does that. shows growth and change! not just stuck replaying the same shit for decades.
I’d forgotten this. Love it. Thank you!
That era also the best for me. As they went more acoustic they lost the earlier shine. The Big Music (song) a prime example 😊
It’s not a bazouki. It’s a Anto on the Mandolin.
Outstanding. Check out the Waterboys' The Big Music. Good theme for your channel!
4 :58 a suzuke
Do Whole of the Moon -by the Water boys--best song-official video L33
just listen man not try
