We have a lover’s leap here in Waco, Tx along the Brazos river. The story is exactly the same! Now I’m starting to think it’s just good ol fashioned folklore.

Seeing a brother and sister fishing together brought back some sweet memories of me and my brother fishing. He would get so excited just like Matt and would fish all day if possible. He once caught a big fish and wanted our parents to see it. They weren’t home at the moment. So, he filled up the bath tub and put the fish in! Mom wasn’t as excited. Tomorrow will be 20 years that he’s been gone. I sure do miss him! ❤️ Thanks for sharing this video. God bless y’all. 😀❤️
@wandagordon. What a surprise for your mother😊!! Bless his heart!! Reminds me of back in the late 1970s what happened to me! I worked late shift at the hospital,so when I got home I went in, went to the bathroom. While I was on the stool, right next to the bathtub which had a plastic door pulled shut, accordion type, and had couple feet open above it. All at once a rooster crowed as lou as it could!! I jumped up,hollered before I knew what I was doing and recognized what it was! But didn't have any idea why it was in the bathtub!! My neighbor had given us a little bamty rooster, they were the kind that the hens laid green or blue eggs.
So sorry you don't have your brother now!!
Yeah, Katie! This was a lot of fun. Many of us ladies possibly did some fishing in our youth, or with our husbands in the past, and know the fun, the quiet, the relaxation in the water... And it sure is something different to do on here. You have so many fun things to do up there, and I enjoy the variety! Good job, Katie and friends! Just like my own trip out on the water!

Katie! I love your fishing videos! I am a transplant in Middle TN from East TN Greene County right at the Smoky Mountains. We fish the Duck River here for trout! We love catfish and Normandy Lake has an abundance! There is a TN wildlife fishery here in our tiny town of Normandy. I fish w my brothers when I visit East TN have loved fishin ( not too good at it) all

My Dad said that some men were diving on an old plane crash in Badin Lake (NC) and they saw some cats as big as they were. He said, they came up out of the water and said they were done...they were not diving in the Lake with anything as big as they were (that might eat them)! Have a great week! ❤🙏 Jane in SC

Fishing is spiritual and for many just like me, it’s a time for reflection. The serenity you feel after a day on the water wants you always coming back for more .
This made me miss my brother..hes been gone a year, last meal we ate together was fried catfish and bluegill..few days later we found him passed in his bed after not hearing from him, my dad went to check on him...fishing is always a great time, great meal and with great company😪💙 beautiful day for fishing.

My Dad used to check what he called "limb lines" and "Trot Lines" about every 3 hours all night long. He used to be called the "catfish king" around Bixby Oklahoma where
we lived.

Here bouts (Missouri) we call that kind of fishing "limb lines." Some call them bank lines. But I call bank lines the pole that you stick into the bank. I really enjoy your videos. I hope y'all catch a big'un.

Katie, thanks for sharing this video! I have fished for catfish my whole life , it's my very favorite thing to do. I always went out on the river with my grandpa, he started me fishing very young, I would help him bait and run his trot lines. This brought back great memories for me, I'm disabled now and can't fish anymore but I enjoyed this so much, hope to see more videos like this in the future as well!

Fun fun video !! You guys should do some more adventure videos , hit some of the rockhounding clubs up there and join in a dig ! Or whitewater rafting ! I would be hitting the river rafting if the horses had not ruined my back so much , I'm afraid if I fell out I'd drown lol , water fall hiking , lake jocassee, there are some great places hidden there .

One of my favorite memories of my childhood is when I would go out crabbing with my daddy in his little john boat on the Neuse River here in New Bern. I developed a love of being on the water from the times daddy would take me out on it; it broke my heart when he sold that boat. Thank you Katie and Nick, and everyone else, for bringing back those memories. One of these days I'm gonna have me a boat to get out on the water again. Y'all take care and have fun! 🙏👋🤟

I enjoyed this video. My Dad was an avid trout fisherman. In fact Davis Creek was named for our family. We spent many an hour fishing, swimming and picnicking there. It has changed drastically over the years.
Had "passion" for trout fishing throughout life, flyfishing, tying flies. When I wasn't trout fishing or tying flies I was reading books about. I could not get enough of trout fishing. LOVE to see more fishing videos especially flyfishing ; ) Thank You

Hello Katie. I watched this video yesterday. I had to drop back in and say how much I loved this video. The technique of fishing them is totally new to me. I have fished catfish in my home rivers but they are just small ones in southern Ontario. But here in northern Ontario where I live the fishing is mainly lake trout and speckled trout and maybe rainbows. We also have pickerel (walleye) in certain lakes and smallmouth. No pike in the lakes I know. Sometimes whitefish. I am not a big fisherman but I was very interested in that video. I would like to see more of life in western North Carolina. Thank you so much. My dad used live bait, he would catch frogs and hook them by their backs and hang them so they would just splash on the top of the water.
and we would catch minnows also, and he did the same with them. And he didn't fish in the daytime, only at night. good memories. 😊

I've never been fishing from a boot or trout lining is what we call it..knew a lot of people who used too..One guy in our area was well known for the 80 s Lb cats or even over 1hundred and more. Back in those days the local newspaper would take your pictures with the fish & publish it in that week's paper.. He always nailed the heads to the sides of ole sheds on his property.. HE HAD MANY HUGE FISH OVER HIS LIFETIME!! 10 4 that was a cool video Katie..

Loved the video. I grew up in western New York. We called cat fish - bullheads. Never knew you could eat them when I was a kid.
Growing up in Ivy Virginia, we had a small pond we would jug for snappin' turtles. Had bass and bluegill but no catfish. Those big old snappers made a mighty fine couple of meals!

Miss trout fishing up in that area so bad...... Found a couple of little creeks on the Park side of Fontana that you could wear the hackles off a fly catching fish. Wonderful days...
I always loved catfish nuggets but also always struggled and didn't like cleaning them I'd clean all the scaled fish and my brother got the catfish lol good memories

We call those "limb lines" here in Eastern AR / West TN . Or we use a "yo-yo" on the limbs out over the water. Reelfoot Lake is fun fishing. I'm about 2 hrs. South of it, we visit there often. My husband grew up fishing there. We live about 30 minutes North of Horseshoe Lake on the AR side of the Mississippi River. We have HUGE catfish come out of the Mississippi!
