    Come with me onboard BA's brand new 787-10 which was delivered to the airline just a few months ago. I'll be trying out their reinstated full service which unfortunately was removed for the last 12 months down to the pandemic.

    There’s no denying that BA might not be as “polished” as other air,Ines, but what an elegant and phenomenal experience...The upgraded Suite looks extremely comfortable and service impeccable. Well done BA! 👍

    Dude, you really crack me up. I dunno who you think is watching these vids, but it's certainly not peeps that can afford to travel 1st BA!! The sincere reviewing is great, but it's done in such a way that assumes we all travel like this, our only dilemma being which airline's premium seats to choose! Love your blagging, man - fill your boots, bro and enjoy it if you can! But get real, none of us can 'leave our thoughts in the comments below' because we DON'T HAVE £8K TO FLY FROM SEATTLE TO LONDON!

    One of the best things about BA first is that, for some long haul routes, it’s often priced lower than other comparable airlines’ business class. When I briefly lived in Hong Kong, I’d fly BA first between HK and NY because that round trip ticket was often approximately 40% less expensive than Cathay business (although, obv Cathay was a direct flight in between NY and HK)

    • @visionist7
      @visionist7 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Remember that direct means one plane, one flight number, one ticket, but not necessarily without stopovers. Nonstop is the real deal

      Absolutely. That’s my post-pandemic experience as well on the route I fly most often, London to Cape Town, but I didn’t find it the case pre-pandemic. Pre-pandemic BA used to fly planes with first class cabins to Cape Town but I usually flew Emirates First because Emirates First on that route was almost always a few hundred pounds cheaper than BA First but now, post pandemic - oh boy! BA no longer offer First class direct to CP, Emirates First prices are about 75% higher than pre-pandemic pricing, and BA business class pricing direct to CPT is crazy, often more expensive than Emirates First via Dubai, so now I usually find that my best value option - sticking to the airlines I prefer such as Emirates, Qatar and BA and keeping to a maximum of one connection - is BA First to Johannesburg & a domestic connection onward to CPT. Depending on pricing that can be a good 30% cheaper than competitors’ business class products and about half the price of Emirates First. On the right routes BA First really is very keenly priced.

    • @Locutus
      @Locutus ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. Look, BA is not the airline it used to be, however, you do get what you pay for on BA. If you want ultra luxury, fly Emirates or Qatar, but if you want a product that is good enough, with a good enough price, BA is that.

    I’m so glad that your still showing us awesome content even thought were in a pandemic 👏. Love the vlog BA have really done well with there modernising of their first class and Club World classes, They look so much more comfortable and having that individual access is a big improvement. Can’t wait for the next one matey 👍 👏

      @brutusp.8116 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wonder though if the increased comfort vs the club suite justifies the price difference. From what I can see the step up from club suite seems minimal but I’m happy to hear other people’s views

    • @Paulhilvert
      @Paulhilvert 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brutusp.8116 tbh, I think the first class didn’t need any upgrades as I thought that was a pretty sleek and classy looking product. Club world was in need of a facelift as it was very dated but what they have done to the new Club World is a job well done. It’s very classy and what a business class should look like. It would be interesting to see how comfy they are and are they worth the money.

    On the -10, the safety video isn’t filmed to include the new club suite, mainly due to the 3 point belt and other safety features so a manual safety demo has to be done, I’m crew on the 350 and -10 with BA and it’s been the norm since it’s been delivered, on other aircraft, it’s to do with the removal of face masks in a rapid decompression :)

    BA does have a lounge in Seattle at S gates now, with a hilariously small first class room which was claustrophobic even with 8 passengers in it. The Concorde Room at Terminal 5 made up for it though. I’m not sure the lounge in Seattle had LPGS champagne either, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t because I was blown away by the LPGS onboard.

    So here’s my view. Often I’ve found that if I can be flexible on dates and times that BA first can be only £200 or so more than Club World. If that’s the case I (obviously) always book it if only for the Tier points and Avios. I would agree with many that BA first hard product is like an excellent Business class on other carriers, but I really believe where BA excels is on service and catering in First. Most of the time however I fly Club World. I’m not super crazy about the new club suite. I think the door is a bit of a gimmick and I feel the whole ‘suite’ is a little claustrophobic. I think BA got a huge bashing for the previous 8 across Ying Yang design but apart from appalling storage space I always liked the open feeling and if you knew which seat to book you could have a window seat with direct aisle access. Not tried the new 777-300 First cabin yet but seems to be just with “added door”.

    Hey Will, Cabin crew here. Manual demo are done on all aircrafts with the new club suite have 3 point seat belt which isn’t included in the video. Also because of COVID we have to tell passengers to take off their mask before putting on their oxygen mask.
    Also if you can try getting on the new 777 300 the first class now have doors as well.
    Keep up the content 👌🏽

    From memory, the crew has to do 1 manual demo a month per regs, with the lack of flying right now, this may be the only chance they get.

    • @MsGolf987
      @MsGolf987 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think all ba flights at the moment are doing manual demos as they don’t have “you need to remove your face masks” if the pressure drops and the oxygen mask release

  • @niksiever3135
    @niksiever3135 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The reason for the manual safety demo is the new Club Suite. They just never got round to film a new separate video. Therefore all of the aircrafts which are fitted with the new business class suites have manual safety demonstration even before Covid. Now, there’s also a new bit to remove your mask before you fit your oxygen mask in case of a decompression and that is for all aircrafts at the moment.
    Also, this isn’t a new First class cabin. It’s the business/Club World cabin that’s new on the 787-10 which was initially introduced on the A350s. This First cabin has been flying around for years on the 789s.

    Good one!! You should do a head to head on London to Singapore direct. First Class SQ and BA. Singapore Airlines should win on product so then it's all down to price and what discount would make you go BA, or not. Maybe not relevant for a solo passenger but for two or more price could be the game changer.

      You had that experience with the very very low passenger level flying on this flight. When I flew the first week after 9/11, I was flying Chicago to Los Angeles on 747-400s. So, our flight that first had about 2 people in First, about 10 people downstairs Business, 2 people upstairs Business, and about 21 it 22 people in Economy. So, my Flight Attendant staff if 14 and me had a lot of places to sit down and take a break during our first flight. During that month after 9/11, our wide body flights were not full at all. So, yes, I, a former Purser Flight Attendant from United from that experience knows how it is to fly with almost no one on the wide body 747s and 777s.

      I am flying JER-LHR-ORD-LAS, then LAS-HOU-LHR-JER in August 2023, with BA, in First. It cost less than £3,000, including hotel. I picked it up in the January sales. In the last week off the sale, they took another £100 off the pricing. There was only £1,000 difference in flying in economy, versus First. I thought that was a bargain.
      BA does have a sale on right now (March 2023), not sure how long for, but if you book hotel, or car, with your flight, you can get some good deals.

    N & S are for "North" and "South", as these are satellite terminals that are detached from the main terminal.

    I think that the business class is the best option here. A QSuite seems to feel more like First Class than this one.

    Is first class worth the additional cost ? We flew Club World, Business Class to London from Canada the last time we travelled to Europe.

    I would have thought all 12 pax could have been out together in first class - the suites are there!

      The issue is if you’d paid £5k (not that I paid this) for a ticket and other pax paid £400 would you feel ok with that?

    They likely did a manual demo because the crew will be required to do one every so often to maintain currency on type.

    If there’s that few people on board, can the attendants say “screw it” and just move everyone to first?

      I once was on a flight with even fewer people, years back sat in Etihad economy. We asked this question but the response was a hard no sadly. I think if there are any other paying passengers in there it’s not allowed

      @@Trektrendy I was on a KU flight many years ago on a 742, there were a total of 6 passengers going LHR-JFK, sadly there was one paying customer in first, so the crew would "only" move us up to business.

    I think the business class seat would be almost as comfortable as the first class seat. I'll easily go for the business class seat.

    Great content.....although I got a rapid test a few months ago and woke up with a 102 fever the day after only to be diagnosed with Covid.

    Hello. You made comment about the s and n gates at SeaTac. Let me help you and your opinion....s means south terminal and n means north. The a,b, and c is in the main terminal.

    I expect that for so few people on the flight it was easier to do a close up almost private safety explanation.
