    Cracking day. Looks like a really pleasant walk, nice gentle rolling ridge.

      Hi Andy, I agree, the ridge has a bit of variety across the four tops. It's a wee bit more severe during a good winter as is the case of many tops. Cheers

      Hi D&L, Certainly worth a visit as it's a bonnie glen. The bother with the gate is a bit of a pain but perhaps a bike/tent adventure is an option. Cheers Charlie

    Particular thanks for this video as I’ve been over those four twice without seeing them. That’s the problem with backpacking. You take the views you’re given. But you don’t have to wait for the gate to open!

      Hello, Such a pity you miss the views on previous visits. Unfortunately, the weather doesn't always play the game 🤣 Cheers

      Hi Philip, This glen is generally busy with the car restriction. Its like being on the starting grid once 09:00 comes around and the gate is opened 🤣 Cheers

    An absolute cracking video gents, such stunning views. That old mountain goat had a fair old set of horns on him. Thanks for sharing your day with us as always, take care, Dave.

    I did these four one winter, with good chums, in excellent hard snow conditions with crampons fitted just below the lochan, and retained until also down to the road at the east end. Great video as usual. Many thanks.

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, I bet that was a cracking experience you had in the snow as these hills are ideal and allow gradual slopes for access. Cheers

    Thanks for reminding me of an interesting day long ago, Charlie.
    And you saw a goat, though not on the Munro named after them.
    I remember thinking we had to keep moving to avoid a closed gate at 6 then, I think.
    We gave a fireman from Gillingham,Kent we'd met earlier a lift back to his car by returning to where he was well behind us. Happy days.

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Geoffrey, The closing time on the gate certainly gets you focused during the day. You generally find bikes being parked and walkers agreeing lifts in either direction which leads to a frantic first hour until everyone has settled down. Cheers

    What a brilliant day to be out. I walked into these ones last year, but did them the opposite way.
    Glen Strathfarrar tends to get its thunder stolen a bit by Glen Affric I feel. The limited number of vehicles also makes the walk in and out very nice.
    Top marks as always chaps 👍

    Wonderful day yesterday - we were in the southern Mamores and it was pretty hot at times. These hills look beautiful and the video shows them off to great effect as ever. I think I'd be a bit concerned that I'd make it back to the car in time but that was clearly not a worry for you! Thanks again and best wishes, Murdo

    beautiful set of hills - virtually a half day for you two there - i assume a walk bike combo is feasible - there's no way i'd do it even in the summer time with the gate closing times. i only just managed Maoile Lunndaidh on its own in the time slot. so odd walking with one eye on the clock - not natural. regardless - wonderful video yet again

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Richard, the bike is certainly an option to eliminate the access times. It's never great walking with a time constraint as you tend to chase on and are constantly clock watching. On this occasion, we took the advantage of getting into the glen with two cars as it was the start of our walking week and we didn't get into our accommodation until teatime 👍 Cheers

    Another cracking video of a great looking walk. Looked busy up there but was a Saturday. Does the car park get full up? ATB Andy

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andy, There is plenty of room for the cars at both ends. I believe they only let 25 cars max in the glen at anyone time so it shouldn't be an issue. Cheers

    Not an area that I have ever visited nor am I ever likely to, but interesting as always nevertheless. Photographically I think these hills come into their own in winter conditions.

    • @charliemccartney7055
      @charliemccartney7055  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ian, I think most hills benefit from having a wee bit of snow. This glen is quite spectacular and I think gives Glen Affric a run for its money on the photographic front. Cheers
