    I got this recommended on Thursday Jan 25, 2024 since I’m picking up my 2023 TRD OR ACab on Saturday and watching all kinds of Tacoma videos. Cool build lucky you have lots of space a drive away.
    ETA: had a look at your channel and liked the videos so you got a new subscriber.

    I’d like to offer a perspective about bolt vs weld. A bolt has 50,000 psi of strength. The tube is 50,000 psi of strength. The weld is 70,000 psi of strength but the heat effected area of the metal surrounding the weld has now been weakened to 30,000 psi of strength.

    Ohh I wasn’t set on the 25 degree angle or zero, but now that you mention rubbing your leg on it, I forgot my old truck I had wide ones on and I was always getting mud on my legs, was annoying sometimes when your in your uptown clothes and didn’t have time to wash the truck and bam mud everywhere on pants, seat of the truck and everything else I touched till I noticed haha. 25 degrees it is this time around haha.

    Something I regret not getting on my last Tacoma, since I dont plan on taking this truck offroad I probably wont get these but I agree better than a lift better than tires! Its a must!

    Nice Cement Tacoma.
    My favorite color, might wrap my ‘23 TRD OR Access Cab Cement as I don’t care for black, I did get $1,043 off MSRP though.
    I like the Cali Raised sliders as they include powder coating and top plate for less and they are DOM tubing.

    It's always good to go with quality Sliders, that's for sure. I went with Demello Offroad. I went with their Hybrid Sliders, and their Baja front bumper. Top quality parts.

    Definitely DOM vs welded for strength. I bought a lot tubing in my former life and DOM is much stronger👍

    • @Mumfy64

      I still have the CBI Sliders and really do like them. Having the plates really help when reaching the Roam boxes, and cleaning off the windshield.

    So true…. I’m losing my 4Runner (write-off) on Wednesday cause no sliders, just running boards 🥴 now is the time to get sliders for my Tacoma. Toyota threw in the steps on my Taco at purchase so was a later thing, that’s turned into now thing 😅. Just deciding on a brand 🤔

    • @Mumfy64
      @Mumfy64  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are a lot of good brands out there. I suggest paying the extra for DOM tubing regardless of brand. Its a stronger tube.

      @jarod144 How are you liking your RCI sliders? About how far do they stick out and do you use them as a step and do they make it awkward getting in and out if used for step? If not used as step do you constantly rub back calf’s getting in and out?

  • @Rob0000005
    @Rob0000005 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey man I have a question about the cbi rock sliders I just installed them and the slider on the passenger side rubs the pinch weld did that happen to you and how did you fix it?

    • @Mumfy64
      @Mumfy64  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I had the same issue. The way I fixed it was to loosen the front bolts and pull the slider down before tightening them back up. You can have someone stand on the slider to keep it in place while you tighten the bolts.

    I'm looking to do just a 2" leveling kit. So really torn about what kind of sliders to do. Mainly want it to not get the door dinged when parked around town.

    • @Mumfy64
      @Mumfy64  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have that lift currently, and it is a good piece of mind on some trails. Sliders can help protect from door dings of the car is low enough. May not from a larger vehicle.

  • @weeweed86
    @weeweed86 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Any chance you could do a video showing the dimensions....Like how far they are off the ground, how far they stick out past the doors. Some good side shots....? I really lie these compared to some of the others that I think are too short in the front, gap at the front on some look like 10" or so.

I went with steps for now, cause I'm not off-roading yet, but I thank you much for this info ... no I need to see how much they cost LOL

    Went with BA Revo's . No way in hell some damn rock sliders should cost over a grand and up to 3. Revo's are awesome and they do the job well. 25 degree angle and they stay tucked in close to the body.

    • @Mumfy64
      @Mumfy64  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I haven't heard of those, but Im glad you found a set that works best for your needs. The 25 degree do look good up against the body!!

      @@Mumfy64 BA (Body Armor) are responsible for other items such as the hidden winch Hiline bumpers that are also pretty dang awesome. The Revo's are sturdy and have kept me off of more than a few rocks. Tons of scratches, not a single ding and I've hit pretty hard a few times.
