Your channel got me telling my wife we're going for an extended vacation to Thailand one of these days, maybe even get a condo and live out there for awhile. Keep it up, love the content!
Chad, Rigidity can be controlled by the thickness of the plywood (lighter than fiberglass + resin) as seen in the small boats, that are brought ashore after use meaning the hull needs less waterproofing protection. The fiberglass is there on the big boats because marine ply is not readily available in Thailand. Thai plywood uses neither Gaboon wood (highly water-resistant, other woods are used but they are mostly from temperate countries) nor waterproof laminating glue as typically seen used in marine ply. Though it does aid rigidity (slightly) the primary role is durability through waterproofing the hull which, without resin, would start delaminating & sucking up water, becoming significantly heavier & weaker, ultimately falling apart in a couple of years with water entering the ply wherever the paintwork was scratched.
Chad, don’t give the boat away. The boat would serve you well in terms of making bomb ass content and you’d be able to reclaim some of the expenses spent on the boat. I can’t imagine how a random subscriber could make use of this boat, let alone appreciate the sheer talent that’s went in to it.
