I like to share what I learn since the information provided by Janome is sparse and not easy to find. I’m not a pro TH-camr and my production quality shows it.
YOU ARE REALLY REALLY GOOD GIRLFRIEND…WOW…EXCELLENT…Plus You pointed out a very Important aspect of Machine maintenance…I’d like to see how You join the patches after they are all quilted…I so LOVE the idea of working on the smaller patches then joining them together
I love the idea, Carmen. I’ve experimented a few times so I can show how to connect them. There are a few methods with and without “sashing”. Also search for quilt as you go or QAYG videos. Lots of great teachers.
I have a question, though I know this is an older video. You mentioned you used cotton thread. Is there any worry with the cotton shrinking and causing puckers in the quilting? I have a brand new Janome 9850 and I am wondering which thread to use for quilting. I have used Aurifil in the past, but can't remember if it was cotton. Thanks so very much!
Hello. I usually use cotton for quilting cotton fabrics. There will be shrinkage of the fabrics and thread. I use polyester for sewing garments and I use rayon for embroidery. Hope that helps.
I have that same trouble with certain adhesives and double sided tape so I avoid that. I have better luck with wonder under or fabric glue sticks for appliqué and in the hoop Embroidery.
You explain the process for beginners very well..THANK YOU MRS.Carmen Balko
I’m so happy you found it useful
Thanks again for showing some of the features from this machine, Janome should sponsor you

Thks for the encouragement
Happy sewing!
Thank you. I was wondering how to do this with my 9850.
Do not be discouraged if your first attempts don't look great. You will develop muscle memory and it will start looking better soon. Enjoy!

Having trouble with using sticky stabilizer and getting needle gunked up so that thread breaks. Any suggestions there?

Enjoyed your video but maybe next time a side view/front view might be good too. Your hand blocks the view a bit. Thx!
Oh yes you’ve discovered I am not a pro TH-camr. I’m grateful for the feedback and working on my photography skills.
Love this video ! You have a video with putting all these blocks together. I’m kind of confused on that aspect of it.
@brenshev6957 the method is called quilt as you go. There are so many videos out there to show how it’s done.
