Same. My board is a Helix, Pog2, and a variable lineup of the EHX "9" series pedals. The flexibility of the Helix lets me bring the EHX pedals back on their own signal path for ambient/fx processing. Best rig I've ever had.
Thanks! I’m really thinking this is going to become one of my go to sounds. It’s a shame because the pedal can do so much more but hey, I can always find other stuff as I learn more features.
I learn alot from watching you man. As a 17 beginner guitarist sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated on my journey: but you bring me right back, helping me put the fun back in it and encourage me in a way Even when I’m watching ur videos on guitars I won’t be able to afford in 3 lifetimes like the strandbergs it’s always good fun😅
Hi Andre! It's been a while since I left a comment, so I just wanted to come by and say hello. I still watch and like everything that you put out, I just don't spend as much time on the keyboard anymore. The POG is an interesting and versatile unit, I remember trying it out. It wasn't for me, but I could certainly see how someone else would do really cool things with it. I like a stripped-down signal chain personally. The less that I have to step on, the better generally speaking. I only use two pedals. A BOSS tuner and a fuzz. I don't even bother with a pedalboard. The pedals are just on the floor going into the front of my amp. I have an FX loop, but I don't use it because I don't want to add modulation or anything else. Then it becomes another additional signal chain that I have to buy and run cables for and power. Having said that, my amp has a 6 (!!!!) button footswitch. Five of which I'm likely to use on any given session. So it's like having a full-on pedalboard in and of itself. Speaking of my amp... I used your Sweetwater link to order some preamp tubes for it. I hope it shows up for you. I hope all is well man. Cheers Andre! ✌
I appreciate it! Always happy to see you on the comments. I totally understand the preference for a stripped down signal chain. That’s how I feel a well, it just happens to be all digital 😂
It does everything my GR 55 and steel Godin multiac steel do in tandem. that's really cool, I understand the excitement you felt there ..I felt the same thing with the 'skat pack' patch on my Roland last spring. Happiest moment of the year was just noodling around with synth sounds *If you've never played a GR55 and a Multiac steel SA specifically ..you don't know. I get none of the 'accidental notes' everyone that crticizes the GR55 talks about. I can imagine that being annoying...but with 11s on a steel string telecaster...Ive never noticed. Less string noise on a steel tele... Just play clean and it won't do anything you don't want it to
Nice demo! I was persuaded to get one at Guitarfest - not really planning to LOL. It was those Metheny-esque tones that persuaded me to keep it - I found it very musical and expressive. Have you explored the filters? I have a little bit and there seems to be some real power there to sculpt the tones. My only little niggle is that my guitar setup live is not ‘true’ stereo so I might decide to relegate it to studio use. Also, it looks like you have a Tech-21 amp there. Which one? I have a Trademark 10.
This sounds phenomenal, but I still think I’m gonna get the POG 2 just so I can dial back the attack to get that Kurt Rosenwinkel smoothness to my lines. I’m like you, I got a helix so I don’t need much from physical pedals.
This pedal is basically an up to date “Hog 2” for those who missed out on that release when it came out If I’m not mistaken Kurt uses the Hog 2 for his signature sound!
I think i heard about the pog pedal when i believe marcos used one for the youth of the nation solo im not 100% im going off of guitar world magazine memories
Yeah if you can dig into this thing more on several videos that would be great. From this I am very interested but before I pull the trigger, seeing more would help. What kind of things can it do with heavier music for example, I am a psychedelic player, and rarely play straight ahead. I think most of my heroes run POGs and Space Echos, I only have Space Echo and a EHX Pitchfork. It can't do what you showed.
I practice first thing in the morning starting around 5 or 6am. And we don't turn the heat on until October. So the mornings are still cold even though it's around 75 during the day.
I have a Line 6 Helix. Do you recommend adding individual pedals like this to my chain or is it overkill? I enjoy my Helix but there are always individual pedals I want to get and lean away from it because the Helix has so much to offer as it is.
I only recommend it for speciality pedals that you really find crucial. For example, another overdrive, reverb, or delay is imo a waste of time if you have a helix. But there are a few speciality tones out there that certain pedals nail. Another one I have is the Plus pedal. Very specific use case there.
I still use my SD-1 overdrive, Phase 95, Dimension-D chorus and DD-500 delay, and cry baby wah along with my HXstomp. I personally found that the amp sims sounded better in the HXstomp being boosted by a real overdrive pedal into the input.
Nice playing Dr. Fludd!
Thank you!
Great sounds! Reminds me of an Ensoniq keyboard I had in the early 90's. Always a great video. Peace and Thanks!
Great video and review, this pedal is amazing
You know the pedal's good when Andre is making a review out of it
Wow!!! That's some wild sound for a guitar!!!! Love it!!!
I agree with specific effects concerning the AF3. Can't lie I love my ehx pedals.

I hope this new pedal means the prices on POG2s will come down. I want one!
Kinda reminds me of some of the tones i hear from Metheny and Rosenwinkel.
Yes I talk about it later in the video’ in this case I was inspired by Rosenwinkel.
Always wonderful playing bro
Thanks a lot!
love the guitar faces in the intro demo it really had you feeling the tone it sounded great too :D
I was so embarrassed when I watched it back 😂
so cool!!!! First time I have heard that sound in a pedal I could understand. Great playing.
Thanks! I’m really thinking this is going to become one of my go to sounds. It’s a shame because the pedal can do so much more but hey, I can always find other stuff as I learn more features.
Those sounds were interesting, and obviously inspiring as well. Thanks for another great video.
Beautiful playing, brother 🤯
Thank you!
Great demo! Thanks
I love when anyone crafts an electric guitar sound out of the ordinary!
Agreed on the pitch shifting/octavers built into most modelers - from the git-go I've had a Pog2 on my board with my Helix.

the first tone reminds me of Yngwie playing volume swells on echo etude
Yes it def does sound like a swell!
That would sound very much like a violin with a volume swell. I landed one of those Strandberg Essentials and I approve of this message!😄

Ahhhhhh that Tech21 Trademark 60 in the background. Mine died after many years of abuse. I miss it.
It’s actually the tech21 power engine! I’ve had it since 2008. Great little power cab
@@andrefludd ahhhhh I thought I saw some knobbies above but I must need glasses
Got to run that Kurt Rosenwinkel Flute tone whenever you got a Pog on your board
Yep. That’s a must!
Very nice guitar

Great video, i love the tone inspired by Kurt, do you think is possible to achieve that sound with fractal only?
I honestly don’t know. But when I tried the octave stuff on fractal I didn’t like it
@@andrefludd thanks, i think there is no attack and dry parameters
So it's the same algorithms in stereo?
I'm assuming this comes with a pretty large manual. Or an online manual?
Holdsworth and Rosenwinkel, perfect examples and references, great demo and display of tone taste!🎉

Is it cold out there or you just like to keep the temp set low? It's still shorts weather out here in the midwest.

@@andrefludd I have family over there, and it is colder here or about the same usually, so I was a little surprised to see you full hoody, lol.
You're far and away the most costly TH-cam channel for me. I already ordered an Oz. This one's going on the Christmas/B-day list.

گشنمه❤
you should try do get that Kenny G tone from it
how this pedals feels in term of latency. u feel it?
Didn’t feel much of anything to be honest. Especially with the compressor added in
Could this replace the superego plus (minus the crescendo)?😊
Same question

Jesus, Mary and Joseph.....This thing is $650!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet they walk out the door.
Is that 650.00 USD.?
@@rkkristalovich653 I believe so
