Really good video, the only amendment I would make is when I started mining I put two ROC's on my Connie Andromeda often, drive them in facing each other, it requires you to jump out over the wheels on side, but they fit fine. It does look like when loading one of them may be over hanging the ramp but I haven't run into an issue when closing the cargo bay.
I'll watch anything you make but I really loved the Hitchhikers Guide and the Machinima series. I hope you continue them again some day. Your creative imagination combined with your smooth narration and the visuals of the game just made them such a treat.
The real question is how long will the ROC last before it bugs out, flips over and falls through the planet and explodes. Anyone who has used the ROC in 3.11 have been "ROC'd" at least a few times and not in a good way.
We did something similar with the Carrack. I ran my Pisces as a Scout, searching for minerals, leading the Carrack there then searched for more while they mined. We could've used a Prospector though to maximize profits, as we had to pass up a lot of rocks. Once we get refueling this would be awesome.
A worthy research! Many times I've heard pple asking if the can fit their ROC into the free Freelancer and the best reply I could give was 'I heard so' as I'm only using Valk to carry mine. Kudos for experimenting even with Reclaimer, the worst choice for any kind of ground to space transportation 😂😂😂
The only problem I found with ROC and Freelancer was that to get it in you need little speed, which might cause problems. Other than that I think you can fit two ROCs with 2 people one is flying and other is in the turret. You can't go around indoors so the one behind better stay with the turret :D
They really need to make the Freelancer a tiny bit wider anyway because when the cargo bay is full of boxes nobody can access the left side of the bay (where components are). The walkway is too narrow. I hope they correct this and make it large enough to fit the smaller vehicles.
@10:12 : A little FYI for this video. As of November 2021 and at the gate of the AIE coming live tomorow, I still own a Taurus and since it came out, I could tests it. For those interested, the Taurus fits my Ursa Rover and my ROC at the same time and there is still plenty of room for a 2nd ROC. I would say it easily fits 3 ROCS but I haven't tested that option so far. Cheers !!
GREAT video, like it a lot! Interesting about the weight effects of the ROC on the Sabre! :) After seeing this I might ditch my Valk for a Max in terms of transporting ROC's. Or the Red tbh.. Medbay is such value atm.

Thank you, excellent video. I have been doing this on my own since ei started playing. My starter ship was the drake cutter and you can fit a Roc in the back, just don't close the ramp. I have come to the same conclusion you have that the Cutty Black or the Valkyrie seem to be the two best options. The nomad can fit one but I really don't like the ship as a whole.
We use both carrack and valkyries in my org. The carrak has som features that are neat to consider. 1. c8 to Scan for diamonds ahead of the mining group wich keeps the roc at a more efficient rate. 2. C8 can fly way with the Boxes and sell them To keep the mining operation on ground for longer(but this doesnt work yet) 3 alternativly fill the carracks Cargo with boxes.
I just did a run combining a delivery run with a ROC in the cargo hold and while the ROC does fit, it is SUPER finicky. With the physics collision issues, it posed many problems for me. Also, with the Red you have to pull the ROC out any time you want to get off/on the ship, which is inconvenient for trying to make delivery runs with the ROC in it. At one point, I had parked the ROC in the Red and all seemed fine. Once I exited the ROC it started bouncy all around and apparently phased through the upper side of the ship and destroyed one of the main engines!! I didn't even realize until flying and the ship kept wandering left. When I hit F4 I was in disbelief as the left engine was gone! I hope they fix this ROC bug so the Red becomes more viable, but for now I will use different ships for transporting the ROC.
@@jfaristide The Black is probably the best all-around Starter Ship IMO. It can do nearly anything and I think it looks cool too (kinda like the Razor Crest in The Mandalorian)

freelancer max is great for the ROC except one caveat. The ramp has less slope and is wide so great to embark and disembark ROCS. However, the Max does not have lights so flying close to ground at night is serious pucker factor. So if you use a max you'll have to hop to the daylit side periodically.
The Caterpillar is indeed a great ROC mining HQ. Not only it can transport 4 ROCs, it can also store a lot of mining and even do some travels back and forth. I hope they add the lowering ramps soon.
It's actually not too bad, you just have to remember to line up the wheels as best you can before entering the cargo hold, and retract the buggy mining arm every time you start up the engines on your way out.
