    Remember a super fast QT drive doesn't really matter if you don't have the gas tank to get across the system with it. Having to stop to refuel once or twice is going to make your trip longer than a non-stop trip with a slower one.

    • @WonderingMind2750
      @WonderingMind2750 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      That's a point I learned the hard way.
      The Vulture has small Q-Fuel tank, so a military class A QT drive is right out. Using the civilian class A drive though really makes a difference.
      The Reclaimer is the same, it's got a small Q-fuel tank for it's size. So it also gets a class A civilian drive.

    Glad to see the C1 got the honorable mention. It is my daily Driver and I love it.
    One thing to note about the maneuverability is those are the max speeds and all maneuvering thrusters have a power up curve on how long it takes them to get to max. That's why I love the C1 because it gets to Max speed very quickly. however if you are trying to do a 180 you will quickly notice that it isn't spinning as fast as it feels like it should.

    • @joemichaud5704

      Yep, it has a pretty low pitch and yaw but I still love the feel of the C1. I melted my beloved Nomad to get one and suspect it will be part of my fleet forever. The large quantum fuel capacity and fast default QT drive are perfect when you like to relax by hauling a little cargo.

    • @Spelljammer1
      @Spelljammer1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wish that "power up" curve would be displayed exactly like that, as a curve, in popular comparative tools like SPAT or Erkul (although I haven't checked them in awhile so maybe there is something like that there too).

    Honestly love my Corsair. Its my space RV. Sure its not super fast but it gets me there every time. Of course, if I'm doing something specific like bunker hopping I'll pull a more dedicated ship like the medical Pisces. But the reason I like the Corsair for my daily driver is that no matter what I'm doing or where I'm at I can have the freedom of choice without having to make the arduous trip back to a port or station just to switch ships. My favorite way to play is to do random things. It helps break up the monotony for me. With the Corsair I can do almost any mission type and bring people aboard that I meet along the way. There have been plenty of times where I needed a vehicle and sure enough had one right in the back. A crashed ship loaded with cargo. Someone got stranded for XYZ reason. An emergency combat beacon. You name it. I can do it. Again, I can't stress enough, we all know how long it takes to do literally anything in this game so not having to go all the way back to square one because you need to grab a specialized ship is such a bonus to me.

    Hey Loud there is one thing you might want to add to your list of criteria: The handling in atmosphere. While the Cutty, the Nomad, the 400i and the C1 shine in that regard, the Constellation and the Corsair for example are not great. Especially the 400i used to be the fastest to escape the huge atmosphere of Orison that features a size 2 QT drive. I think that is an important thing to remember because you mostly go into atmosphere for your daily driving! cheers Sky

My daily drivers are the Pisces Expedition and Pisces Rescue, respectively. They're quick, small targets, and are easy to land just about anywhere. If I need to haul a bit of cargo, I step up to a Cutlass Black. I have a Cutter, and like the IDEA of it, but have never liked it in practice. It was a great starter ship for "space trucking," and I loved how I could haul my roc in it to go crystal mining. As much as I loved it, I made the bitter sweet decision to give it up and put it towards upgrading to a C2 for 150 off. I'm still learning to handle it since its the largest ship I've ever flown, but I can't get over how much money it brings in doing trade routes. This was a great list!
    I’ve only been playing for a little over a year now, and can say that after trying all the ships on this list, these are some of my favorites, I’ve tried out most of them, but the C2 is now my daily driver. I like how i can have my 2 vehicles (roc and Ursa Rover) in and still have plenty of room for hauling cargo and refined goods. It’s fast enough to not slouch while going in and out of atmo. Lots of fuel is great, And.. has powerful enough guns at size 5 (all be it only 2) that it can still bounty hunt with good shielding. The doors are a pain at times, but with the elevator, it certainly gives you options.

    A great video and set of suggestions there. I would probably throw in the Banu Defender with its interior as another viable option, albeit no internal cargo but for a lot of stuff it’s also excellent.
    Hard to argue with Loudguns daily given he has one of the ultra rare white and gold Cutlass Blacks that go for $400+ these days. It’s also my most flown daily on that list, but I also fly the 400i, Titan and Freelancer Max a lot too depending on what I’m planning to do in the verse. The Connie will also have a place in my heart with that weird but cool creative design and snub.

Huge fuel tank, can equip the vk00, nice interior, massive landing pads for its size when not extended and good cargo capacity when you need it (and only then). Nice little bonus is that you can buy black paint for it ingame. And for some reason I just like MISC ships.

    Think the daily driver gets determined by what people are mostly doing. My reqs for an ideal daily driver. Can't be big so it needs to be either small or moderately size. Easy to fly, easy to hover, easy to land, be able to do multiple things relatively well, must have a fast call time, and it must have a size 2 Quatum drive because I don't like slow Q travel. That last req disqualifies quite a few ships that would be otherwise be ideal for this. After carefully analyzing these reqs I concluded that the C1 Spirit is the best daily for me. It literally meets ALL my reqs as listed.

    Just so you know, on the 400i the single occupancy room is actually the owner's/VIP's cabin. The pilots would get the 2-bed offering. That's just how luxury yachts work. The same on the 600i and 890Jump. The captain would bunk with the crew unless he/she had their own dedicated cabin near the bridge which none of the Origin ships actually have. Rich folk hire crews to operate their vessels and never actually do the driving in vessels of these sizes.

My taxi is the C8X or now it's the C8R for some flexibility and community spirit in this New Year period.
    I had a speed bike thing but never got around to using it so I'll buy one in game if it comes to it. I don't like mining so there's no need for a Roc or either of the mining ships so I now have the Corsair and if it was agile as the Cutlass it would be phenomenal but I'll have to fly it more to get used to it.

    I can't find anything better than the Corsair. It can do everything, and has so many great quality of life additions: elevator to the roof, landing lights, cargo flood lights, armory, three points of ingress/egress. Plus the best pilot controlled DPS in the game and a massive cargo hold that hold MUCH more than the rated 72scu. Add to that the massive fuel tanks and that all this comes at a bargain of 3.4M, it's hard to compete. Its low maneuverability can be enhanced with use of boost, and using the VTOLs helps improve atmospheric maneuverability at the cost of forward thrust. It's definitely one of the best designed ships in the game. When the 600i gets its rework this might change, as a tier 2 med bay is a huge benefit.
