Oh man. I've been playing 20 years on a pearl export kit.i recently reheaded it for the first time ever.top n bottoms. I was content as I pulled the finish off and stained them vintage aqua.but I'm just trying to get a different sound I cant get out of these.esoecially the damn 13' tom.the hoop is slightly twisted and I couldn't get it back. I've been trying to save for a Ludwig neusonic kit.its what I wanted.but than I started listening to some jazz and cats like elvin jones.and I got obsessed. Now all I want is a gretsch kit. I'm digging the Catalina club in that yellow satin.its sooo good. I'm trying to save but it's just one thing after another. I've been visiting the page daily looking. And than the price went up. I'm just defeated on it. I had like 200$ saved up but now it's alot less than that. I was wanting the 20' bass drum at first but now I'm dead set on the 18'. I've never even played a kit of that quality before. One day. I'm hoping in the next year or so. But god I just want good sounding drums. They will be mine. Oh yesss
Wow brother, i am in the exact same situation , playing a Pearl Forum since 15 years . And damn i'm tired of this drum. I need a gretsch kit . I love Ludwig too. And man the Gretsch Catalina Club yellow is so sweet. And the Catalina sound so great !!!! I don't understand why can't more gretsch drummer play on the Catalina club instead of the Rn2/Brooklyn/Broadkaster/Usa Custom
Gretsch makes great drums and was my first snare and man I wish I still had it!! I now play Pearl but I am a Chef and the drums are just a hobby. Beautiful drums those Gretsch are!
