I work at a marina and boat launch and we have signs all over, but nobody seems to read them. Glad to see it isn't just here that people have a problem reading signs.
Used to do this on Yankee beach 30 years ago. Pull the tourist from the jettys all the the way to blacktop. Only took money if offered. Never thought of this as some kind of business. Great idea, keep up the good work. Appear to be good people and great family.
I took my Wrangler out last year and found that even at 15 PSI i was slipping the tires! I went down to 12 and it was much better. Stock Sahara 18" wheels with MT
some times yes, sometimes we sit there all day and do zero. It depends on conditions, the beach that we volunteer out is very easy to drive on with cars and always full of tourist. But its also managed so the management has asked up to provide help The entrance on this video is a different beach that's not really managed its an honor system pay when you enter system Is known for being super soft and we have pulled lots of 4x4s off this beach over the years, and is primarily locals that fix, with a few tourist The hugemought area quite often reaches capacity and stops letting people in 10-15 thousand depending on tide while the fishing spot has a 300 cap
When I was in the Navy I used to pull people out for $20 that got stuck on Jacksonville Beach, the Jettys and the ponds up and down Mayport Road into the base. Easy way to make a few bucks off of people's idiocy.
That's funny because we been asked a million times over the years to come up and provide services during busy day (like during a special event) and holidays. We tried to do it for $20 pulls and 1 out of 20 people would pay that everyone else said no I'm not paying, or ill wait for someone else to pull us out. So for a long time we just refused to offer services for them because we could not work for free. Then Facebook blew up now we just video them make the money off the videos so now that allows us to be there to help at no charge its a win win for everyone
Back again, Years ago I had managed a towing service out of Naples, Fla. doing everything from heavy recovery, to underwater recovery. After watching a few of your more high volume recovery days, much like this one, I keep wanting to ask you how on Earth do you manage to be compensated for your many many recoveries ? When I did recovery work, and they couldn't afford to pay, at least I had the option to impound and store until I was paid for my work ! You have got to have a way of being paid for your work consistently ! Maybe you have someone off camera doing your collection for services rendered ! Or at least I hope you do !
We do a lot of jobs that we get paid from, uhauls, fedex, Amazon, along with many other delivery services and more. We volunteer to help the beaches at no charge on holidays 1-to help keep beaches safe which means they will stay open 2-free advertisement, there is around 10-15 thousand people on the one beach on a holiday 3- good way to meet people which creates a great word of mouth which also brings in more work Short term = no money Long term = more money then todays losses can bring
Even with AWD, if your vehicle has low profile tires, you haven’t the ability to air down properly if need be and you will get stuck, worse than a fwd or red, because you will have 2-4 tires that spin in the sand and get buried. Any wheels bigger than 18” have no business on the beach in soft sand, 15&16 are the best sizes, especially with tires over 28” tall or more.
Your tires look hard. I drop my boat trailer to around 0.3-0.5bar and my tow vehicle is usually the same. Then i drive slowly like that while in Sodwana but never more than 1-2 km per day and always slowly. Sometime battle to get off the beach when the unimogs and tractors have churned it up, but mostly a little momentum will get you up the to the ramp.
Do you keep your tires at highway pressure when you're working on the beach? I don't recall seeing you mention messing around with tire pressure and wonder if you are simply usually able to get the job done without the hassle of airing down?
We normally don’t air down We have zero issues driving anywhere we need to with full psi Now sometimes we will air down if we plan on being in the soft sand for the day But this day we planned on staying at the other beach where it’s never an issue So we could not air down and drive the 47 miles back without the compressor which we did not bring Also kinda testing out the new set up to see how it handles dead pulls and if it can get back out in soft sand Hope that helps
That's what I figured. You were spinning a lot in this video, but you have to do a lot of highway driving, and it takes time to air down and back up, and time is money, so from a business perspective, don't air down unless you have to.
Airing down will help minimize tire spin pull a lot better and keep tranny temp down for happy long life , just air back up only takes a few mins w right air tank , C02 tank
hi matt, capt frank here. i was at hugenaut on labor day. i heard u were there earlier. why did that white tundra keep going out on amelia when he had only two wheel drive. his front tires didn't spin at all when u pulled him out.
He was 2wd for sure And wanted to try the beach He was able to drive up and down the beach fine And got stuck on the way out at the same spot so we ended up pulling him off the beach about 4 hours later
Why step on the gas?! Second or third gear, low, and forward. Even on inflated tires, anyone can drive here with low gears. And do everything smoothly.
why do they always turn their front wheels instead of just holding straight??? and all those trucks stuck in the entrance why don't you pull them back to parking lot instead of onto beach?
That’s got to cost at least $75 per vehicle and I’m very happy for the tow folks and hopefully you make a killing and you’re doing it with a Jeep lol I to am a jeep owner and every winter in the Pacific Northwest cascades I’m pulling out vehicles that shouldn’t be out in our terrain now don’t be hating but most of my tows are Toyota and you guessed it Subaru road vehicles that shouldn’t be off the asphalt they are not setup for such conditions and the Toyota are usually big foot looking vehicles that you would think could go anywhere lol
If I have to do a sunk vehicle like these, I will give a gentle tug with no power to lift them up out of the hole then do a second strong pull with power to move them. My vehicle is definitely not as capable as yours
Do you charge for this? If not, do you accept tips from people? I always will jump out and pull someone out, I typically never accept any type of payment or tip, unless I had to get super sandy under a lowered car that shouldn't of been there LOL
Are you just revving the piss out of that thing for show ? I go out to Nassau Sound in huguenots all the time and pull people 488 gears Eaton truetrac in the rear, cheap lockrite locker in the front 37 inch km2s I can pull full size trucks with stock wheels out of the same area as you're pulling them out of no more than 3,000 RPMs 😅
I work at a marina and boat launch and we have signs all over, but nobody seems to read them. Glad to see it isn't just here that people have a problem reading signs.
I don't understand why 90% of the people turn their steering wheel, shouldn't they follow your vehicle?
understand you don’t get the typical feedback of asphalt while on sand it can be difficult for those who aren’t as connect to their vehicles.
Idiots

I'll bet the days at the beach are non stop for you, nice work.

Many people buy 4x4 cars and don't know how to use them. The ideal is to dry the tires a little to have more grip on the sand.
Nice day on the beach for you

That jeep sounds good! What exhaust and intake setup
i bet 90% of those trucks and suv's that got stuck would of been fine if they even just came down to 15-20 psi
most of them yes
Yep. I've been buried in a 2wd van. Dumped the air and drove out.
Wow, amazing
every vehicle you pull out makes that ramp less accessible.
🤫

I'm sure you had a lot of business out in the picayune

Good ole flick of the finger and your car will stay there forever 🤣🤣🙏🏼
Just love the beach ...

don’t understand why people they cannot see the sign 4 x 4 only🐐
wouldnt it be better if these people put it in 4x4 BEFORE they got stuck?
I think you should air down a bit. I don't know how much air in your tires though...
In California ppl charge $20-25 to be pulled at Pismo Beach
Thanks for sharing. What exhaust system are you running on your Gladiator? I like the sound.
Just about Every time we come in and out right there there is someone stuck clogging it up
How do Subaru s do in these settings?
There is enough manpower on the beach to move a loaded semi. If they all leaned in the same direction, most of these recoveries wouldn't exist.
Do you keep your tires at highway pressure when you're working on the beach? I don't recall seeing you mention messing around with tire pressure and wonder if you are simply usually able to get the job done without the hassle of airing down?

Love how the sign says 4x4 only and yet there were the front wheel drive cars out there
Easy money there sir…..l can’t believe that people insist on taking vehicles on the beach that are 2WD.

These are good videos. It would be nice if you could give the locations.
What beach was this
Looks like beach north of jacksonville
it is
Just needed more air in the tyres 😄
Why step on the gas?! Second or third gear, low, and forward. Even on inflated tires, anyone can drive here with low gears. And do everything smoothly.
All these Chevy making me look bad wish I was closer I’ll go down there and float in that lol maybe maybe not
Do you use 4low or 4 high for pulling people out?
I hope these people know the get a water hose afterwards and wash the salt off
Most likely not especially that BMW
How much do you take for a pull out?
do you reduce your tire pressure in the sand for added traction?
Yes but this particular tire needs about 6 psi before it starts squatting and we got rid of the bead locks
wow...flicking you off on front of the kids lol that's something else, some people simply won't heed to warnings despite all the evidence huh!
8 lbs of pressure in the tires would solve most of the issues.
why do they always turn their front wheels instead of just holding straight??? and all those trucks stuck in the entrance why don't you pull them back to parking lot instead of onto beach?

I have my tundra at the beach with no problems
If I have to do a sunk vehicle like these, I will give a gentle tug with no power to lift them up out of the hole then do a second strong pull with power to move them.
My vehicle is definitely not as capable as yours
Do you get paid for all those beach tows??
Hey guys how's things i sore one of those tundras in Hamilton Victoria Australia . Giving Toyota a bad name
Do you charge for this? If not, do you accept tips from people? I always will jump out and pull someone out, I typically never accept any type of payment or tip, unless I had to get super sandy under a lowered car that shouldn't of been there LOL
On those days where we help the beaches is all free
That's the secret put a fat person on the back of the vehicle now give it traction
We're not called fat anymore, we're ballast!
@@nathanjohnson9231 that's a more educated term
Are you paid a bulk fee by the local Authority to stay all day?
No we volunteer at no charge on busy weekends
It’s great advertisement
if the guy at 6:10 would have just let the truck get pulled he'd be way better off than digging the back tires the entire way.
So funny how people who go to the beach have no idea how to drive on it or better, when to not drive on it and Honey its timne we leave, like Now!
cant believe the stupidity of some people
Are you just revving the piss out of that thing for show ? I go out to Nassau Sound in huguenots all the time and pull people 488 gears Eaton truetrac in the rear, cheap lockrite locker in the front 37 inch km2s I can pull full size trucks with stock wheels out of the same area as you're pulling them out of no more than 3,000 RPMs 😅
People do like to pull their vehicles right by the water so they should pave a road that goes all the way to the water.
Seems like that's a filter strategy.. it ya cant read the sign and/or make it 20 feet.. rethink
How much can you charge these fools? 😅
Is there a charge for pulling these people out of the sand from you. Or do you do this for the goodness out of your heart.
I hate to say it I think it's time to change the gear ratio to increase the to torque
Bro this guy knows what he’s doing 😂
According to the sign 4x4 only once again people are stupid lol
people are so stupid.. they actually turn their tires into sand plows and fight the tow vehicle
tundra wasnt in 4wd
Hey red truck driver straighten your wheels
lol for me it's wild dumb, only bad tyres and no real 4x4 in deep sand : stupid ?!
