So far what I can tell just keeping it simple an using common since gets you around these recovery jobs pretty smooth. The device that U use to stop your truck while winching are they made out of steel. I have a rig I have been building for 8 months now and its a manual I have hydraulic winch in the rear and electric in the front. I will be installing a double line lock for holding but Do you think something like what you have would work for my application. My engine will have to run to use the rear hydraulic winch. Oh love your content. Thank you.

    • @matt.mckinzie
      @matt.mckinzie  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

We never include a 4 minute commercial in the video ever
For a long time we were against all commercials
But in order for us to help people at no charge
We have to include a commercial here and there
You are welcome to skip it
      Or
You can just block us it totally up to you
But that 60 second or less commercial pays our bills and allows us to help people without charging them
Which helps them in a bad spot
Which also helps us get more jobs
So we can make more videos for you
Right now the job count is low
But once we build it back up like we were in Florida
There would be 1 commercial to every 20 or so videos

Once on vacation in a Toyota Highander, GPS had me on a gravel road up in the mountains that turned into a 4x4 trail and then petered out to a dry creek bed with jagged rocks all larger than basketballs, drops of almost a foot, and limbs encroaching on both sides. No place to turn around. Didn't want go backwards (due to drops) and was only 1/2 mile from next real road, so kept going until I blew out the passenger front tire on a sharp rock that poked the sidewall. No cell coverage, sun was sun setting, and horrible place to change a tire, so limped about another 1/4" mile on flat where I did a quick change to the spare. In the end, was just an adventure at the cost of a new tire (no damage to the rim), but was looking very grim as bad choices became worse. Learned to never trust the GPS maps and not proceed where cannot back out.

Stuff like that just baffles me, what ever happened to common sense? I have literally had an experience like this. I was delivering food in my town and the GPS took me down an access road behind a paper factory. The road went behind their paper waste "pond" . It looked like mud to me so I kept going in my 2wd Ranger, about a foot into this "mud" I realized it was paper waste because it stuck to EVERYthing and it was deep enough is was about 18inches deep. Like I said I thought it was just mud no big deal, well paper waste does NOT come off easy once it dries, to this day I still have globs of it falling off my frame. Since you left FLORIDA
Is there anyone else doing what you did?
If not, I might consider building a rig for recoveries.

About 27 people attempting to do them as far as we know
      Could be more than that
It’s the one negative of social media you have every guy in the state thinking it’s a cool job and wanting to do it

@@matt.mckinzieThanks. You have cool equipment. But your job looked rough. Mud, bugs and all hours.
I really appreciate the math and thought you put into a recovery. Thanks for the advice.
