@@DomDOMT I guess, but this game actually plays fantastic with my xbox one controller. I'm actually faster with it compared to my wheel because it has the advantage of being able to immediately counter-steer. You have to configure it in the menus, but it is pretty easy because this game is so good, you can easily adjust how quickly (or slowly) max steering input on the controller will translate to actual input in the game. Not sure if you can on keyboard, but I wish all games had this feature.
playing racing game with keyboard all this time its a pain and a huge fun-reward if you doing well, and now while my wheel order is in delivery, i just here to see what's about this game, and so eager to try it later
now you guys talking about the control method to play this game, i wondering that this game is made so realistic what is the controller people use back then ? or is the basic game (with no mod) is not as good compare to current gen game ?
This is a really good driving school. Teaching basic stuff, not like the stupid young drivers test on the Codemasters games.
Will probably help me with my driving in VLMS.
Gosh this brings back some memories. RIP Mr Burns. Ive got good memories of going to the welsh stages to watch Richard and Colin back in the day! Never thought at the time they would be gone in a heart beat. Anyway good video bud.

Have you visit rallygamer.com? On that website, you can download a bunch of liveries for your rally cars on nearly every Colin McRae and DiRT games

kim j In the real world, yes it is as you getting paid for showing your sponsors on the car. Basically a moving advertisement in motorsports.
In the video game world, not so much. IMO, only if you’re really bored looking at the same livery over and over again, then it kinda is if you wanted to see how the car looks with a specific livery designs that you like. I’ve done it in DiRT3 (not a simulation game I know) where that game had an “okay” livery designs but I’ve changed it to liveries I like.
As for car mods, not so much in DiRT Rally games, in RBR? Yes!
@@hashrulsubzero very much aware of the first bit :) was thinking strictly video games now as a lof of people playing these games (at least the ones who do it in a 'simmier' fashion) do it through the first person views either way.... the dirt games would however benefit GREATLY from modding that isn't just livery switching, as in getting more courses and perhaps even tweaks to the physics in certain aspects etc. it's sad how little support there is for that as of now.
I love Richard Burns Rally, I always did! It's just so amazing---very difficult and sometimes very angering, but very enjoyable and nice :)
Wish they do similar rally games nowadays... Omg, just think about it: the graphics of Dirt and the physics of RBR put together in one game...!

I think the funniest thing about this is that, I still think RBR is a better game, but that's purely because of modded content. I think that DiRT Rally should add a mode like this. I also think they should have a larger list of cars, even the fictional ones from the previus DiRT games, because, the trailblazer cars, the 350Z, and the "technically real" Hillclimb cars from 3, are just ridiculous, and would be awesome to play around with in a realistic scenario.
this game modernized would be awesome. I am late to the rally sim party, so I've missed out on the joy of Richard Burns Rally.
Search and download RBRPro. One click install all manager with latest NGP 6 physics, all cz tracks, reshade etc... Give it a go, u wont regret.

I seem to remember it taking more than a week to pass the full school. Frustrating. But TBH I was actually able to drive the courses after that, :-)
The rally school is really great. none of the current really games has something like this any longer. In dirt rally ready there where a few videos that's it. it's really bad nowadays, 15 years ago they were able to do a rally school

i just cant seem to get the scandinavian flick right. i can only do it in that test if i go ~70.
i was doing pretty badly when i started, but then i changed my wheel from 900 to 540 degrees. now i can do most things without crashing if im careful. but i just can't seem to nail the scandinavian flick.
17:05 but powersliding is fun. so its impossible not to do it, even if its often slower ;)

IMPORTANT!!!!
IF YOU PLAY WITH A CONTROLLER USE UP FOR THROTTLE AND LEFT FOR BRAKE!
If you do this you can left foot brake properly and you can use the analog stick as a grid to perfectly balance throttle, brake, and their ratios exactly how you want. I would say it's impossible to play rally on a co stroller properly without this.
I will only play the game to get redbull at the end.
Help, I can't get past the left-foot braking lesson. I get a Perfect score on every requirement but fail the Braking, and the game won't tell me what I'm doing wrong
Imran If you still couldnt reach it you have to brake and throttle at the same time when you are turning the corner

@@michaelwalker552 Look for Richard Burns Rally Pro. Best thing it has happened to sim racing. It's free, extremly easy to use, online is so fun and competitive and it has tons of cars, co-drivers and stages. You need to try it mate

for any future passers by: the easiest way for me was rbr pro, everything included, simple setup. as well as the base game it has ngp6 has vr etc etc. just google rbrpro, there is a website.

dude my best with ngp 6 is 1:28 he was 10 sec faster seems impposiblle.Did he play in vanilla?
Looks like vanilla, I did a 1:24.9 with it and was hooked to the game
The vanilla cars have much greater acceleration than ngp 6. Maybe not as realistic, but certainly not any less fun.
