    Thanks for this. Clear explanations but my 76 yr. old brain will need to watch this multiple times. A couple weeks ago I asked you about reflexive verbs and Voila!!

    The usual thanks, Dylane. This has shone a lot of light on one the last "beginner" topics I was struggling to get lodged into memory. Also, your book "French Short Stories" is simply brilliant! It's exactly the kind of fun resource I needed to keep me learning French now the module has finished at university. Given my eagerness to learn this language this channel has easily been my best TH-cam discovery in the past year, thank you!!

    Fantastic video, for a difficult subject. I think (as probably do a lot of people) I struggle with understanding when to use a reflexive verb and when not to. Sometimes it makes sense, I'm "doing something to myself", example washing myself. That makes sense. But the brushing my teeth one just doesn't. It seems like I should simply be able to say "je brosse mes dents". Reflexive verbs is definitely going to take me some time.

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  ปีที่แล้ว

      It does take some time to get right, for sure! For the teeth, don't forget to never use the double possessive :)

    Interesting video. Like many things in French, the grammar is the easier bit. Recognising reflexive verbs and reflexive constructions and their meanings is the part I find difficult. They appear in all sorts of places and it can be challenging to decode them.

    • @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane
      @TheperfectfrenchwithDylane  ปีที่แล้ว

      I find that the passive form makes it harder as well "Cela s'apprend facilement" It looks like a reflexive verb but it's not! Practice Practice Practice :)
