Why has nobody come up with the crazy idea of self contained generator units, bolted externally to the engine, with a straight keyed shaft, just like the hydraulic pumps I work with regularly? Insane having to dismantle the generator to pull the case side off the engine.
Remove the bolt, fill threaded area of the bolt removed with water, put Teflon tape in abundance on threads of bolt and reinstall. The bolt will hydraulic the rotor off of the shaft
I separated one and I find a way, if you just take off the cup cover and the big volt then use a small nail bar to opening or separate, it’s working fine for me because I don’t have all the tools 🧰 what you have but thanks for the video that’s a helpful to 👍
I bought a generac cheap from farm auction got the engine running smooth but the generator doesn't put out power any ideas? It's a 8000xl generator with 16 hp brigs
@@smashengineeringoffical fl I just bought the air cleaner assembly off one of those used .. for cheap because mine did not have one I found 10hp one in the trash all it needed was its fuel system redone and carb cleaned runs now
Hey James condon Mr generator will be on live tonight at 930pm est on Ken's small engine repair channel Q and A come join please Sir if u can. Everyone is welcomed to join
Please make one part of this make sense!!! Why not remove it as a whole unit??? Why must 1 tear the gen apart to remove it from the engine??? Please I'm dying to know why??
If I understand correctly, he's putting a different engine on the generator. It's easier to work on when the engine and alternator assembly unit when they're off the frame, which he did. I'm not clear what you're missing.

The way I seperat them is find a small but that will go to the bottom and put the bolt back in and start tightning they will seperate
Did this and bolt broke so tapped with a sledge and it disassembled from shaft
2 different materials for shaft and sleeve. A little heat works great.
I fixed a block like that once. Jb weld and a tin can. Lol

@@smashengineeringofficalsomeone asked what threads did you make
I wonder if anyone has tried wet toilet paper to get the shaft apart
A big rubber hammer smacked on the side of the lamination is the easiest way for sure
I call bull shit on the "didnt take much force" and you broke the taper with your hand. Gtfo
"Briggs & Stratton" is code for you will need a new engine soon. Worst junk on the market.
Sorry. I watched about two minutes and the music can fast forward are not for me....enjoy
