    There is nothing sadder than a sailor that will never go to sea on a Man o’ War again. Eternal Father is sung at church in the USN with three verses…seaman, airman and marines…God save the King!

    The line astern was done the day after the Argentinian surrender on 15th June 1982, before HMS Hermes and other ships headed North to the UK. I was on HMS Invincible

    What makes this all the more real for me is that my father would have been down in the Falklands when this was filmed. He missed the war as he was still working up but he was there just after the end of the war. Lynx flight observer for a 9 month deployment.
