  • The HiPoint Carbine chambered for 9mm seems to be a very reliable platform with its blowback system. There are a few things I would change about it but I know of no other carbines that can be purchased for this price. It is also fun to shoot!

That's a 'lifetime transferable warranty' with probably the best customer service in the firearms industry!

Very happy with the one I have which is exactly like yours. Put a flip up/down handle on bottom with double mag clips on the butt, and a sling. Sooo accurate right out of the box, impressive. Great warranty. AND,
the desert digital camo matches my hi point 45 pistol which I really enjoy! Also, as accurate as the handler😉.
Three years ago, $265.-Carbine, $95.-Pistol. Can’t get any more economical than that! Thanks for the video

Our 995ts is pretty new, also...I don't know why I waited so long to get this gun, it is already a favorite...still breaking it in, and have bought a couple more magazines, it is a keeper...we went with the 9mm because of ammo availability and price, but if I get another one it will probably be the 10mm, everybody that has one raves about it...at the price point Hi Point has zero competition, and although the carbines have their rough edges and idiosyncrasies they just run and run...function over form, the gun is absolutely beautiful in operation...

I used to own one that i bought new a few years ago.
I got absolutely destroyed in the comment section of another video when I posted my experience with the 995.
The crazy thing is I actually wanted to like the gun, but it lived up to every negative stereotype about Hi Point guns. That thing was a complete piece of junk right out of the box and never once got through an entire mag without at least one malfunction. The warranty was great, and the customer service was great. The gun was just a complete waste of money. I bought it because it was cheap, and i thought it would be a pretty cool beater to go plinking with. I didn't expect much out of it, and I got exactly what i expected. Several people suggested that I should sell the gun, but honestly, I didn't feel like it was safe.
I'm actually surprised to see so many positive comments about then, as I've never seen one that didn't have a ton of issues.

I never had an issue with mine, great out of the box, 4 years and about 7-800 rounds later, absolutely no issues. Heavy as hell but it helps with recoil.
I would also recommend staying away from after market magazines.

Glad to see a recent video from you Patriot. This is certainly one of my favorite guns to shoot. It makes me seem like a better shot than I am. Lol. The 995ts is a purchase I'm so happy I made! Sometimes you gotta get past a preconceived notion about a product...and give it a chance!

In a perfect world with zero variables my favourite 1st run 1st gen circa 2011 4595ts 45auto Carbine with 5k rnds and cold bore start, would still put all rounds touching on paper in a clover leaf pattern if not in the same raged hole to this very day.
There is nothing in the safe more capable, more accurate, or more fun at it's working distances. And it's JHP45 companion back-up shares the same mags and accuracy if you do your part.
    "Useful IS as useful DOES"
    Hi-Point
Still brings an ear to ear smile to my face and snobs usually stop talking by the middle of range time.

Is it easy to field strip? Does the bolt lock back after the last round is shot?

It is difficult to take a part for cleaning. The bolt does lock back on the last round.

'Difficult' is the wrong word...i can break the gun down in under 9 minutes, perhaps 'manageable' a better word...of course, that is assuming a rubber hammer and a punch can be handled, can't tell these days with young folks...
