I do believe I will buy one of these for a woods/ animal defense weapon, and a home defense weapon. I carry a Taurus G3C and will keep it that way, but this is a great option for someone who doesn't want to spend 600 dollars on a 10mm.
Thank you for the detailed report. I am a revolver guy so if and when I can afford to get back into shooting my first purchase will probably be a .38. In autos my preference is for DA/SA but if the safety really is safe to carry I might just pick up a C9 for a backup and just to have something that uses the ubiquitous 9 if it ever was the only thing available. They seem to do what they need to do when needed so why not.
@@mkshffr4936 if it's finances you are worried about it's understandable. being able to afford the gun and enough ammo for range time and to take home is important. if you don't mind caliber, you could probably get away with a TX-22. it's in .22lr but with how cheap .22 and the gun in question are you could get enough ammo for a decent amount of range time and still have some to take home.
Good review. To disengage the magazine safety, simply remove the right grip panel and lift out the transfer bar component of the magazine safety device. Reinstall the grip panel and you are ready to go. It only takes a few minutes.

I'm a hi point fan but they really have got to make the magazines less disgusting looking. If it weren't for the magazine and that weird grip logo design it would actually be a good looking gun.
It would be very interesting to see if this would fire - as some 10mms do - .40S&W cartridges, and cycle them reliably. That would certainly put frosting on the cake - although it is ALWAYS a bad idea to just carelessly load a round for which a gun is not explicitly chambered, unless the manufacturer identifies the caliber as supported. For example, .38 spl/.357 Magnum, or .45/,45 Super, etc. I only bring it up because of the stamping of both calibers on the magazine.
I went to my local frontier justice yesterday and they said this came out two years ago and it was hard to get. So I've been seeing a few " new hi point 10 mm" videos. So Wich is it new or old and hard to get
The 10mm handgun is new this year. The 10mm carbine was a couple years ago. Both prolly harder to get as they sell out quickly because everybody "hates" on them because they are so inexpensive lol.

You probably dont have to pull the mag out to rack slide, just press the button and let the mag pop out a bit and pull the slide back, then push the mag fully back in.
You are correct, instead, remove the lockout bar under the right grip panel and throw it in the "cleaning" solvent tray for the future. Mind the small spring\s on the backside of the panel.
