I ordered three today. Going on vacation week of the 4th and will try them out along with the jig and teasers. Spanish should be around and maybe some Pompano. Thought lines
Couple weeks of watching you use these was all it took to get mine. One came in yesterday and a different color is coming this afternoon. They’ll be getting wet this weekend! Thanks for sharing JC!
JC, great video. Just received my Cranka crabs from a fishing supply house in AU. Impossible to find in the US. Couldn't get the replacement claws however. What material did you use to make your own, color, where. Thanks for any info you can provide.
Thanks for watching. I've fished most with the darker colors. The one that I toned down with the permanent marker worked good. I've caught about fifteen Sheepshead on the Cranka Crabs now.
JC, Bite is warming up in northern GC. I couldn’t wait and went direct to Cranka AUS. Free shipping on orders over $75.00 US. Pincher kits are $5 US for a pair. Amazon CRANKA crab (treble hook) 65mm due back in stock Feb 17. Hopefully Amazon gets pinchers stocked soon. Can’t beat free shipping with PRIME. Next... I am seeking best local retail foam source for pinchers as you suggest. Really appreciate the ingenuity and helpful tips. Best!!!
Hello Rad Reeling, I’m a new subscriber from south Texas south padre island area. I’ve enjoyed watching you’re videos. On the topic of Sheepshead and cranka crab . This crab is not available on Amazon. Any other brand you recommend. Also can it be used at the jetty’s with a bopper cork that is adjustable. Would appreciate you’re input and advice. Keep up the videos. Fish on!
You have to order them from Crankalures They will work at the jetties, but if they are public jetties where a lot of people fish I wouldn't recommend the Cranka Crab. The reason is because there will be loads of broken off fishing line attached to those rocks, easy for the Cranka Crab to get hung on.
I first ordered this lure as a novelty, and when it came and I saw it I laughed and joked those Lil bitty hooks. I thought no way those hook into a Sheepshead! That's how I found your channel and I can't wait to try this thing! Hope Amazon restocks soon. Ebay you can get them but shipping is more than the lure.
Those hooks are so super sharp, watch out for your body parts and clothing. I've hooked both barb deep, ha ha. Looking forward to hearing your success stories.
Hi JC! This is John. I just watched one of your videos on catching sheepshead on crankacrab lures. They look great but I can't find them in california on Amazon. Please help! How and where do I find d them?
It sounds like it would be a fun thing to do, but only if there were large schools of sheepshead being targeted. The Inshore scent seems to be working pretty good.
Do you think the single hook cranka crabs will work just as well? They did not have the multi hook ones in stock when i bought it, but of course restocked after i made my purchase. Anyway, you should do an unboxing video on the care package from Cranka. That'd be cool. 👍
For Sheepshead the 65mm size is ideal. I haven't fished with the larger crab, but do think it would work for larger fish such as Black Drum and Tarpon.
Thanks for the tips! I was hoping after the last video you would explain about how you replaced the claws👍. Can't wait to use mine. I took it with me last time out, but the reds wouldn't stop hitting the jerk shad, and I'm not one to change lures when they are working. I need to go out specifically to target the sheepies around some marinas and jetties. I have procure in the blue crab scent, should do the trick.
Hi friend. Please don't post on my channel about your videos. This is not how to build a channel. What will happen is people will mark your comments as SPAM, then TH-cam will label your channel as a SPAM channel. This means that your comments will never make it to be posted. It will also have a NEGATIVE impact on the growth of your channel. Just letting you know so you can build a respectable channel by producing quality videos. Thanks for watching.
JC, Really appreciate your channel. I have been looking for Cranka at stores here along the northern gulf coast, no go... suppose Amazon or eBay solution pending. When you mention west Florida, I assume you are in the Tampa area? The variety of fish inshore there is amazing. We have Sheepshead, Drum, Mangrove, and Pompano galore. But... envious of the sea bass and grouper ya’ll access inshore. Very nice... Best regards
Thanks for commenting. Hopefully they will get the Cranka 65mm restocked on Amazon soon. Viewers wiped them out last week, ha ha...Amazing lure for sure. About fish, I am envious of the Sheepshead bite that you all have earlier in the winter months, but we have Snook! Thanks for watching.
*Really great video JC...so very creative, as always, on those hacks...Well, I guess we now know what your drugs of choice are... Fishing and Caffeine!* ... gw
Thanks for commenting. The crab weights about 3/8 once. In current I cast up current and drift it along the bottom. I haven't fished it in super fast current. I'm guessing I'll need to add some weight somehow at some point when using it. So far the places I've fished have produced well. I'm just tying the mono leader directly to braid.
I've only used the 65mm size. The company is sending me some of the larger ones. They said they are good for Tarpon, woo hoo! I'll keep the channel updated with any new developments.
Bought my first cranka crab like about 2 yrs ago from Ebay I believe for like 20 bucks. That's cheaper than getting it shipped from Australia I think it was like $25-30=too much. Like 3rd time out I snagged it. Goodbye crab! Worse part is I never got a chance to fish it too much. I was just trying it out. About 3 days ago I ordered one from Amazon I think I got the last one with treble hooks. Sorry guys. UPDATE- I did NOT RECEIVE the crab! They ran out. They told me it'll be there either two days ago or yesterday. Now I have to wait about six days from the time they promised it. 👎😠 thank God I didn't have a fishing trip planned yet..
@@RadReelingFishing lucky you being in the south. I don't have that luxury of fishing for sheepshead here in NJ but I do know that a lot of fish hit the crabs when other bait is hard to find especially in the beginning of fishing season.
Hey JC, I've been looking for these cranka crabs and Amazon's been out of stock the past couple times I've looked. However I found a site that has a version of the cranka that has a single big hook coming out between the eyes. Have you seen this and do you think it would be as effective?
Not JC but maybe this answers your question: the treble hooks are very sticky. Hooks anything it touches. Most of the time, fish know that crabs have two dangerous parts, their claws. They usually pick them apart unless it's a bigger fish. Big fish just dont give a damn and swallow a crab this size whole. I think the ones with the double trebles will be more effective for smaller size fish since the will try to pick and bite the crab apart first and then eat the rest. Hope this helps.
Ready to see some more cranka crab videos

Ha ha...what a great idea.
Thanks for watching Mike and sharing encouraging words.
Clearly strong coffee. Great tips!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yep, strong and smooth.
Which Cranka crab do you have the best luck with? I saw where you toned down the fiddler crab's color with a marker.
Thanks for watching. I've fished most with the darker colors. The one that I toned down with the permanent marker worked good. I've caught about fifteen Sheepshead on the Cranka Crabs now.

JC where can I go fishing for sheepshead ?
North Florida TH-camrs in Pensecola are starting to catch them like crazy around the bridges.
Ooooh ya that cup of cubano gave u a kick ! 😂 little fast in this video
I love that coffee, good stuff.
I hope they make many more. Looks like a perfect lure. Thank you for the tips. I hope to get some before Summer.

Yes I have alot of places. I'm in port saint Lucie fl.
@@JoseEspinoza-vr4pm how did it work out for you?
Awesome but to expensive
Hey rad are you going to do the claw video
No, I just cut them with scissors out of foam and hook them on. They get pulled off when a fish bites, but the DIY replacement claws work.
Thanks for the videos!! Would love to get a chance to fish with you sometime!

Wow! My shrimp prices are $5 for 25 $10 for 50 $20 for 100!!! I didn’t know I was lucky
There's an interesting post on my "Community" tab her on the TH-cam channel about how much people are paying for shrimp. Please check it out.

Ha ha...I'm working on breaking the energy drink habit. Add in some B12 with that coffee and I'm good to go.
I tried to order some. They took the product off the market 😥😭😭😭
Joe Maxie only on Amazon is out and unsure of replenishing. Cranka website offers free 7-10 shipping to USA on orders over $75

Where can you order some of the cranka crab lures from
Amazon man. Search cranka lures. Don’t buy from their website shipping will be at least $20. They originate from Australia
Right now Amazon US is sold out of the 65mm size, followers bought them out. Hopefully they will be replenished soon.
I'm going to purchase some of these lures , I fish the east coast of Florida waters , What color or model cranka crab you recommend I purchase ?

Westin also makes a version of the Cranka Crab called "CoCo The Crab". When Amazon was out of Cranka Crabs, I grabbed two of the CoCo's.
