24 I started fishing last summer this year I'm fishing in saltwater I went last Sunday and I'm planning on going this weekend I really enjoyed it especially when I don't have any one to do it with
Brendon (Hey Skipper), I just want to compliment how wonderful your videos are with so much education for fishing styles, rigs, baits, tackle, and etc. you do a phenomenal job with detail. I also want to compliment you and let you know how respected you are for your conservation efforts and the way you show respect to conserve our fisheries. Prime example is letting the Sheepshead with eggs go instead to produce many more wonderful fish!! Much respect to you, you have a great thing going keep it up!!!
I've been watching your videos from time to time. What I like about you, Senko Skipper, is that you always keep it real, you're sincere, make it affordable, and most of all- genuinely funny!!! Thanks!
I come back to this video over and over, every year - one of the BEST float rig videos out there man. And you even let a fish go for conservation's sake. A+++
I have been fishing for 25 years now and I am blessed to now live only 2.8 miles from the upper Mississippi river in Davenport, Iowa and I always use a float rig that looks like a modified Carolina rig. It has a traditional round float, two 1 oz egg sinker weights, a 6mm bead, a interlock crane swivel, and a pre-snelled hook with a 7 inch leader line on it. And I find I can catch any fish we have on the upper Mississippi river on that one rig because the Mississippi river has a strong current.
I just made 2 high low rigs from the tutorial you did with ur Dad. Cant wait to try it. More Dad videos love how he is so nonchalant all the time and lots of knowledge.
We need you to entertain yourself on the Great Lakes through our different seasons. You enjoy fishing so much that you are very interesting to watch. AND NO DAMN MUSIC!!! I like your drive to play with different ideas too.
I use a small piece of spark plug wire between the swivel an the egg sinker to keep the sinker from beating on the knot. Enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work
Great tutorial on catching ocean fish. I love all kind of salt water fish and fresh water fish. I was glad to see you throw that sheep head back that had eggs in her. Good luck on your fishing trips. Mike Brady
I've watch a few of your videos. And enjoyed them but I'm subscribing and encourage others to do so because I saw you spontaneously noticed the egg sack and chose to release. Thanks for repopulating and helping more people to enjoy the catch.
Still love your videos! I look forward to watching them! Thank you for all of your work, and for having Erin with you. She really seems like someone you should keep.
Everyone uses a sliding rig in Brooklyn to fish off the pier, but I am a HUGE fan of a 3 hook hi lo rig. I use both clams and fresh squid, and almost always get some sort of bite. It's particularly great off the pier, because your line is going down into the water at an angle, so the bait is off the floor. Just make sure to use a heavy enough sinker if there is current, or cast on the side of the pier where the current is going away from to keep the line tight. The sliding rig works fine, but if there are crabs around, they will eat your bait within 10 minutes. I like keeping the bait off the seafloor.
I'm so excited that you are in Jacksonville Florida because that where I live! I have never known of a float rig till today, I will probably use the rig in the future! Keep up with good work, never stop fishing! Nice sheep head and red drum:)
I caught a lot of snapper and GT using the sinker rig. We call it dunking. We also use the floating rig in Hawaii. Different strokes for different folks lol. Good luck and keep posting great content
Great video! I laugh and learn new things at the same time! Can't ask for more. Nicely done on that throw back with the Sheepshead too!! Keep the videos coming!
Nice rig! I mainly do fishing with a float :) I love that rig and video! Also, you can make that rig more sensitive and less resistant by adding some split shots or sinkers to balance out the buoyant force of the float. Thank you for your video!
That float rig is my go to rig for Trout. With live Finger Mullet or monster pinfish, you're going to catch big Trouts. The Red Fish and Sheepshead in the Appalachee Bay are lazy. Not interested if they have to chase their food because it's oyster country. Blue Crab dead on the bottom gets them though. Big ones. Thanks for the vid man! Reel Guys doing their THANG.
Cool ! Been too cold to fish here in southern Indiana. I have used that slider bobber when catfishing. I've not had real good luck with it . I would say I wasn't useing it right. Love y'all stuff. ☺
Like always....awesome video. Lov ya bro... releasing the sheepshead makes you no longer the skipper but a Captain! Just wanted to let you know that my family calls you "Aquaman". Keep up with the fabulous training videos. Always fun to watch.
I love seeing responsible people fish, making sure the next generations of fishers can do the sport we all love.
