- Ash was one of Rainbow Six Siege's 20 original operators, designed as an aggressive entry fragger who was supposed to breach the enemy’s defenses within the first few moments of the game.
The deadly combination of her speed, her small head hitbox, and her incredible rifle made Ash pretty much unstoppable.
Over the years, Ubisoft tried to nerf Ash, but she stayed just as popular and broken as ever.

Bro they took Skys out of context when talking about taking away her Acog. Skys retired recently so he was not talking about her acog getting removed. He was talking about her recent recoil nerf.
But his sentiment was the same, [ash at her best was unstoppable]. Edit: nevermind my response was on their first sound bite of Skys, not his latter one about his retirement

The new Ash recoil isn’t horrendous. I’ve easily relearned it after a few days of playing, it’s just a simple vertical recoil.
Zofia, however, is a horrendous new recoil. Vertical to the left just messes me up entirely.

I really miss this game around operation velvet shell. Its just not the same anymore. The nerf to the speed of all ops ruined it for me.

Every time I see a video bout siege nowadays I’m just more and more glad I quit. Poor overall balance decisions and just a poor quality experience in general.
It's not balance issues, it's the issue of the game not having a fun factor anymore like it did back then.
Now it's all about pro league and balance 😢
@@kyaryi1 It doesn't have the fun factor anymore because a lot of the guns were broken like ash, jaeger and maestro guns with the acog, sure they were really annoying but they were also fun as hell.
I'm playing it casually and still enjoying it, it's still an unique game.
I remember I used to play Kapkan and like 5sec into rounds BOOM all of them are broken as ash fucking runs through all of them taking no damage
It's gonna be back in year 9 season 1 with them giving her acog scope back after everyone lost 1.5* and 2* scopes

The thing I hate about these nerfs is that they don't focus on making operators that are not picked better, they just destroy the existing strong ones, uselessly changing for a few months the way players have to play and removing parts of siege's original soul, to then return back to the initial problematic situation because everyobdy just rolls with the changes and learns to live and frag with them...

Agressive entry fragger to hit the defence line up fast and swift.
Ash does that and destroys utility as designed then Ubisoft be like:

Guess it was essential but the way balancing is done to cluster them all up in graph, that's not practical.

Nerfing Ash looking in at 2022 literally changed the meta, now we have to deal with more than capable fraggers now with Finka and Zofia queening Siege but Twitch, Iana, Sledge, and Osa are not that far behind them.

The 6:56 skys clip is incorrect, hes talking about the removal of the breaching charge and the recoil increase instead of the removal of the 2.5
It shows like how to try balancing a game, and destroy it at the same time..
great vid. ash being a threat at both short and long range was the obvious problem, and the fact that they eventually chose to focus on her short range is a good move
it's kinda of amazing how simple it is in hindsight and how long it took to get here but you just cant make an operater who can both beat a SMG in close quarters and a rifler at long distance.

"useful" does not mean "overpowered". Just because an operator is more useful, doesn't make them good or strong.
The problem is that all players think every operator should be their gadget. Ash is a fragger, she is supposed to be strong in gunfights and I see no problem in it.
Also attacking is harder than defending, and Ela on her peak (OP Grzmot Stun Mine + OP Scorpion EVO 3A1) and Lion were waaaaaay worse because they were both Fraggers and had great gadgets.

Not an Ash Main but is anyone else annoyed that Ash has been thrown to obscurity this season? R4-C is dogshit now, only two breaching rounds, and trash utilities. This forces people to pick Iana with 2 frags and gonne-6, and basically unlimited intel that results to Iana's high pick-rate.
If Iana ever gets nerfed, blame Ash. fuck ubisoft

Small mistake around minute 2:40 , the original acog gave actually 3 times zoom instead of the described 2.5

Its the rumors about zofia recoil that pisses me off bruh, recoil doesn't matter so why on earth is it an issue? Legit, take the scorpion or the ump and I guarantee your higher hs ratio is on the scorpion, a good player will hit heads no matter what, just because a community likes playing an operator, for example ash, does not mean that the operator is overpowered, somebody has to be to favourite right?
A good player can win an entire game using pistols only but that doesn't mean a bad player can do the same thing. The difference was that it took so little skill to use Zofia's AR that anyone could use that weapon no matter your skill level considering it had 0 recoil.
