- How did the worst operator in Rainbow Six Siege become the most dangerous character in the game?
Finka was, once, irrelevant: a weak, impactless operator that only existed to be memed on.
But when Ubisoft decided to buff Finka, they didn’t know when to stop. And eventually, she couldn't be stopped.

I played the shit out of Finka when she was released (I think she is still on of my 2 most played attackers) because her LMG was so insane. I never understood why more people didn't use her.

When I played T3 competitive back in 2020, there was a Brazilian team in our league that always picked Finka and the casters and other teams thought they were trolling with the pick.
But when we played them map 1, we realized their Finka is so busted we had to ban it map 2.
If Ubisoft never stopped paying attention to console they would’ve seen this coming. She was everywhere on console for a long time before the buffs. Her lmg was used a lot and the recoil loss when boosted actually benefits everyone on controller. It’s so weird to see people just now realizing how good her lmg is.
Yeah on console she was pretty good especially in low elo. Also the lmgs in a game where you die one bullet to the head will and always be broken.
Yeah in no point in time was she ever the worst operator on Console
It’s not that they stopped paying attention to console, but they have to balance the game around pc.

@@bakes1324 yes, that makes sense. As I said, you need to balance the game around PC because that’s the target audience. Especially when you consider that a lot of the game is balanced around pro play specifically where everybody is on PC and nobody’s using a controller. This is standard practice for most tactical shooters on the market.

Sheeeeit when she dropped I was still playing on console with friends and we LOVED finka and I mained her lol I would just call out that I was going to boost and then all of the sudden everyone on our team is shooting 0 recoil guns on console which was an enormous help as long as you knew it was coming. Not calling it out imo is the equivalent of say being Dokebbi and never saying when you are using a call.
‘Destabilise the meta’ was probably the best way to put the last 6-9 months of siege, and I’m so glad it happened. For too long the attacking composition of ash, zof, 2 hard breachers and 1 soft destruction was getting stale, now in comp we’re seeing the likes of Nokk, Osa, Zero, Ying, Jackal etc find more game time and it’s so refreshing to see.
It’s also hilarious how these “experts” in pro league and yt would dismiss LMGs in favour of Assault rifles, yet when the main fraggers got nerfed and people realised how good LMGs had been the entire time, they cried about how ‘it’s taking them so long to address how broken LMG’s are’. Goes to show that 20yr old pro players might not be the most reliable sources of commentary on the state of a game 🤡
Same shit is CS GO the sg553 and the Aug were better weapons then their ak47 and m4 counterparts, but because the pro’s never used them players were shit on for using weapons with sights.
People always said to just buy nades with that money but after the cod guns were dropped in price by 250$ basically pennies in csgo pro’s picked them up and suddenly their OP. People just wanted their ak/m4/awp meta back
Ar used to have an ads time thats .1 sec faster than lmg, back then when both type of guns had similar level of recoil, lmgs are better for support role/holding angle, and assault rifles are for fraggers and generally for those at front, if they didn't start nerfing the ar at first the whole lmg meta shit won't even exist, they used to suit different roles but people go for lmg in the last few months because some ar got a ridiculous horizontal recoil and lmgs are still decent
U even mentioned people realised lmgs are good after main fraggers are nerfed, which means the assault rifle fraggers used to have an advantage over using lmg, so whats ur logic about "pros dont understand how good lmgs are"
@@disinque6961 my logic is that LMGs were just as good as AR’s were, it’s just that people preferred AR’s because of things like reload times, the negligible difference in ADS time, the operators using them and that Ash, Zofia, Iana back in the day had more “useful” utility than Finka, Capitao, Gridlock etc. There’s a lot of variables but something that is always consistent is Pro players making remarks about something being good/bad, then sometimes literally overnight will completely contradict their statement because of a extremely slight change, sometimes a change that doesn’t even directly correlate to the argument (ie; Finka sucks, but hold up now her heals are permanent and there’s no change to the recoil patter- holy shit this LMG is broken and needs to be nerfed)
@@disinque6961 another example is when Ubi announced that invitational this year would have no crowd because Covid was still a major problem, all these pro players and content creators jumped on Twitter to declare that siege is ‘officially dead’, ‘dead game’, ‘the devs have ruined siege’ etc, and yet 12 months later not only is siege dead, it’s back on the up and up, and we’ve had 2 very successful LAN events…
Finka is like Zamasu of Siege: You meme a character, devs buffs it, and it turns into a nightmare of a character to deal with.
Finka is essentially the aug/sg553 of siege. Always strong, just never used and probably gonna get nerfed into the ground once people notice
I main finka since 2019, and when the rework was announced - i was pretty happy. Now I'm afraid because my favourite operator will be worse than before. I liked that moment when she was weak, but I used to play her in my style, which was comfortable for me (i played more like a support)

funny thing is back when the russianbadger played siege a lot he said the lmg for finka is the best option and people like me who actually played her before she became meta were seeing the future. cause my squad and i almost exclusively lmg rushed once she was dropped. great times
I mean, to be fair (I haven't played in a while so bear with me)... Weren't the LMGs the flat out better option on *literally everyone* who had one, even circa Chimera when Finka launched? Fuze, Finka, Maestro later, Zofia, Ying... Heck I think the assault Spetsnaz Recruit got access to the same LMG? They were just better because *suppressive fire*. Who cares about reload speed when you just don't reload?
Finka main since her release. So glad she got her time to shine. Kinda' mad that people were complaining that a "trash-tier" character got buffed. Will continue to play her regardless. Blitz Finka Lion combo is goated.

The only thing I remember about finka before her rise was to always pair her with Blitz and just rush in head first.
Finka was always strong on consoles because recoil control is harder on sticks. When the r4c got a recoil nerf I noticed a lot of duo players would run an ash and a finka to combat the recoil because you know why play as if it requires any skill
ran the lmg on capitao and maestro for a while before finka's rework. was confused at why people didn't run lmgs more often. same damage and recoil as the ar's, but with 4x the bullets
I played finka before her buffs, and I got to say, that was the most fun I've had as a siege player. When she got the self rez buff, I just knew she was going to get better after all of that.

I played Finka since she came out, I was always a healer/support guy so having a "Doc" on attack was nice. I am kinda glad she got buffs but I can see why she's broken

As a finka main back in shadow legacy, i knew the day that she got perma hp and withstand with her ability was the day of reckoning
As a old-school finka main, i stopped playing the game for sometime and came back recently, the first game i played with her was so satisfying and i didn't know wtf happened lol

Finka was my first non-pathfinder agent before I even knew what the LMG meta was. I have to say, it's been over a year since I started Siege and Finka is a big reason why I kept playing. I main Ying now.

I remember exactly one year ago, Finka would be considered a troll pick amongst my ranked stack. But ever since she got her nades back, I've been playing her almost every single round.

Idk if I was doing it foolishly or not, but Finka LMG was something I was playing for some time, and I would always tell my friends about how broken LMGs were in general, especially when some have the same if not faster fire rates than the AR counterpartrs. I know her util wasnt the greatest without forethought or knowledge, but I find it silly that APAC was the first region to see her potential

Bro Y3-S1 was a fucking nightmare to play as defenders. Ppl also forget that Finka not only released alongside the God form of Lion, but also alongside the biggest buff blitz ever got. Running with his shield up plus being a 2 speed plus the bug on release where blitz shield didnt slow him down like he should. Y3-S1 was indeed a nightmare

I had mained Finka since 2019 and I used the Spear. I was also the defuser guy in the squad and it worked well for the way we played. I’m bummed that the LMG meta had ruined the reputation of this operator now :(
Plus my defender main (lesion) has like no recoil now so that will probably bring some hate to him in the future :(

Ubi didn’t buff finka directly, they nerfed ash and zofia AR which gave finka the buff she needed. Ubi nerfs shit without thinking, its either a minor nerf or such a major nerf that shakes the whole game up
there are a lot of ops that are like old finka, they just need the right improvements and changes to make them viable without making them a nightmare
Because when you were in a gunfight and without calling out, the finka would surge, your recoil would go down (since you were already controlling it) it was really annoying
A 3 shot is still a 3 shot with 100 rounds still broken

The thing with Finka is that most people couldn't use her because of the adrenal surge recoil buff. She was most useful at lower ranks where players still struggled with learning recoil patterns and control, or just didn't compensate for recoil whatsoever. Her change was much needed, but needed sooner than we got it.
It's weird how underused guns can become OP all of a sudden in Siege, I don't know how things works in this game anymore

Honestly the nerf the could have done to lmgs is just make it so your recoil goes monke mode if you move while shooting.
Meaning lmgs can still lay down fire for an extended period, but you cant just prefire your way into site.
lmg with adredeline in any game is top tier. Same with brimstone stim and an odin :)

I actually find that pretty hilarious. It is a good example of giving players what they want, and players shifting the blame. So much people complain about stuff, but when they actually get what they want then it's too much.
Maybe its because I played siege when I was a console player but I was diamond in siege and Finka was always meta.
Back then you picked Finka to stay at the backline because you're still new and didn't know around the map but you could still help the team out with your stim
Now Shes a wet dream for former ash mains with her infinite ammo, no recoil, acog and I can't stress this enough, LITERAL STEROIDS.
Yup! Hang out in the back, learn the map, spam windows with Spear/LMG and clutch up rounds with no recoil pistols
Lmg meta was all started with zof ar getting thrown in the dumpster. Rest is history
I still remember the Finka Blitz combo when R6 mistakenly made Blitz a two speed during Operation Chimera.
He just rushes in and went sicko mode on everyone. Doesn't even need his pistol. Just shield flash and shield bash. Got a few people to rage quit thanks to it lol.

Hang on. Why is Montagne at the highest winrate for attackers?? When I played 2-3 years ago, the guy could hardly go above -5% Win Delta, so what's going on in the game now? Same with Clash.
Depressing but it's because they're often picked by cheaters
@@SaltyR It makes me sad to hear that, since even with my 44% win rate on Monty I could still make the enemies in ranked so pissed by getting two melee kills and then dying for defuse.

Been playing siege for 3 years and I main sledge. I switch to finka last month and 3/4 games I have 10+ kills. I keep telling my friends not fight her head on if she nows where you are or you get pre fired.
I honestly see different with Finka, I thought she was broken, and combined with Lion, she became a monster, I remembered before using her I often only ranked in kills or overall use in 3rd and occasionally even second. Me playing often Glaz with occasion of other operators to trying them out like Thatcher, which I was okay with, but not entirely. But with Finka, I had always ranked second, even sometimes first, and my win/loss ratio had bumped up far more. And going for defending I also always ranked 3rd, sometimes second. And even when Lion got nerfed, Finka was still a terror when she could practically bring up teammates who were downed but the enemies were either pushed back, or were baiting. Not to mention it saved me many times when it was a 2v1 situation where I was low on health, and I needed a bit of d r u g s in my system to go brrrrrr. Maybe it was my luck and I somehow dodged all the times where Finka would have been shite
finka is like the Reyna of R6S
So I know finka is a problem but iq and amaru have been an issue with that g8 ever since it got an angled grip.
