  • The Can-Am Spyder RT Limited is a great machine, but it has its quirks. @AmericanDude3825 asked my opinions on the radio, so here are some thoughts, as well as a discussion on another option to consider.
This channel chronicles my adventures using a 2023 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited as my only conveyance. We’ll go on a great adventures as well as mundane errands. We’ll also discuss accessories and gear for the Can-Am Spyder.
I usually wear a Tourmaster Transition 4 jacket, a Scorpion EXO-AT950 helmet, and either Klim Baja gloves or Joe Rocket Windchill gloves. I use a GoPro Hero 10 camera and a Purple Panda mic, and I edit video with Final Cut Pro on an iPad Pro.

I found a video from CanAm on TH-cam on how to pair your Sena with the Spyder. I found out that I needed to pair my Sena before pairing my Android phone to the Spyder. Once I accomplished that properly, the BRP go app works perfectly. I can listen to music with an old ipod wired in the glove compartment. The gps app I use will override the music when it needs to. I can listen to SiriusXm radio with the app on my phone through the sound system or in my helmet. I can use my phone without touching it as it is kept in that small compartment. The BRP connect system just works fine for me and the BRP go app is sufficient for my needs. I ride my Spyder to enjoy riding; if it didn't have the connectivity, it wouldn't bother me. Cheers Chris!

When wearing a half-helmet, I run Sanyo music on my Android phone and connect that via Bluetooth to my Spyder and listen to it that way works great. When I have my full-face helmet on, I have a Cardo Packtalk Bold and listen to music lists or to the radio via my Cardo.
I just rode a 750-mile or so weekend, and even though it was REALLY hot, I wore my full face most of the time for safety and so that I could listen to music during the 6 hours down and back.

Chris, to use the presets you must go in the 12 FM channels, then press the center button to back out of FM. Go to the top of music to configure then to reset presets. I bet you just tried to go to the reset presets. You got a message the FM must be selected first.

At 4:56 in my video BRP Connect/Go a dual screen Tutorial- I’m showing where the Headset Connect is. Once you get there there is an option to connect via Bluetooth.
You do NOT have to connect to the BRP cable for this to work since it’s Bluetooth. But it would enable Siri to work so you can still use your iPhone.

If you'd hook up a patch cord, the way we had it before wasn't Bluetooth be a heck of a lot easier? Once you figure it out and have it set up.
You have to get a service. They disconnect the battery and you're back to square one. Well that's what happened to me

    Good video Chris.
Personally, no matter what I am going to buy in the future, I will probably care less about radio/stereo of the machine itself. Got a Sena in my helmet with HK speakers. No matter what I would have on the bike, it cant compete to the inside helmet speakers.
Some phone have built in radio, uses the headset as antenna. My 2nd last phone was a Nokia, yes, they still do exist. That worked liked that.
I have TuneIn, and there are a number of similar radio apps, and it works great. Being someone like me that travel long distance have way across the world, FM stations just dont make it that far. I could listen to my favourtie Swedish stations in North Carolina or Mexico.
My gripe was, that many time, it was not live, it was a recorded loop. I do not know if it is like that anymore, but it was quite annoying.
    Safe ridings.
    Cheers from Swede in Mexico.

I discovered a couple of days ago. The pad in front of you with the headset speaker left bottom corner. If you don't push it right, it won't have a good connection between your headset and your outside speakers. You may hear one of them, but it'll be very faint. Till you reset it again? Every now and then it happens

    My man!!!! Thanks bro!!!!
I want to play my iTunes though the speakers via Bluetooth. That should work. Wish the Apple CarPlay was fixed. The Honda Africa twin has CarPlay.
My wife and I plan to pick up a 2022/2023 RT limited in the coming month give or take!
    Appreciate this!

Well my 21 Spyder Rt refused to start last Saturday, Utica Harley that is now the dealer for Can Am in this area sent a truck to tow the bike and it is still there! Don't know yet what
the problem was. Turn on the key and everything looks good, but hit the start button and get some noise inside the engine area and that's it. Hope to know in few days what happened1 Have a Back the Blue ride the 29th, sure hope it's done by then!

I would assume that the battery has bit the dust. These small batteries are not as rugged and robust like your battery in your car or truck. They are more akin to the battery on a riding lawnmower. More frequent replacement will be necessary.

If you would figure out how to pair the Sena to the bike, then you simply switch to music on the system and not the intercom.

You said those with a 2024 can am can use Apple CarPlay for apps. That is incorrect as although can am is still advertising them with car play they in fact do not have acp. It is not currently available for them, also since no CarPlay, no brp connect either, oh and phone loses connection all the time and keep having to repair to play music from phone.

    • @SpyderMinimalist

I’m well aware of the CarPlay issue, and I didn’t intend to say it was available.

If you apps other than music already on your phone you will be using data. That may not be a big deal for people with unlimited data but for me it is. Just in case you didn't know, now you do.
