When I was 6, I got a GBA SP 2nd handed for Christmas. I got several games with it also, including Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Advance 2, Super Mario Advance 4, and some other non Nintendo stuff such as Battleship. I traveled around a lot as a kid, and I still associate memories from games with traveling experiences. Since I was living overseas, I didn't really have a lot of new games to try, but I kept playing the same ones over and over. Then one day, when my parents friends came to visit, they brought me Mario Kart, Megaman, Pokemon red, and some other games based off movies and such. I played those for quite a while and was happy to have some more variety. At one point, we met up with some people my parents knew, and as a random gift they gave us a GameCube. I loved it with all my heart, until my dad fried it by accident a year or so later. For Christmas that year, me and my sister both got a DS. Later on we ended up loosing almost our whole collection, so the details are fuzzy about what games I got when, but I remember playing New Super Mario Bros as well as Kirby, Final Fantasy, and Civilization. While I played a lot of games, I hadn't really beat too many. I was around 9 when I beat my first Mario Game, which was of course NSMB. I felt amazing knowing that I had completed a whole game. I would like to say I kept playing, but I honestly stopped. For a long time. It was only really in 2016 when I actually kinda started playing again. I had to be in the car for 70 minutes two days a week, so I started playing SMB3. Now that I was older, I actually beat the game and felt amazing once again. I then found out about the joys of an emulator and began playing SMB2 on my laptop. I beat the game, but I had used save states. A year or so later, I decided to work on it and I came up until the last level before I called it quits. At this time, I put my devices away again. Then last spring, I began emulating off my phone, playing on a xbox controller. During this time I beat Super Mario World and played some classics that I hadn't played in a while. I started Yoshis Island, and finally beat it a few weeks ago. Then I decided since I had beat a lot of Mario games, I might as well finish Super Mario Advance 2, and I beat that the very next day. For Christmas I got a Wii and I've been slowly working through New Super Mario Bros wii with him, and he seems to really like Nintendo over almost everything. Sorry that was long, just wanted to share my experience :D
I still have my game boy classic, game boy pocket, game boy color, game boy advance, game boy advance sp (I missed the micro), Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, two Nintendo 3DS and my beautiful Wii. I'll have the Switch in the next month. Thanks for sharing your consoles and histories. ☺
The decoration of the DS/3DS consoles has very interesting design that links to their special edition, making me more willing to own and collect different editions. I've got friends who own 3-4 2DS/3DS.
My Nintendo memories are way back to the 90’s when I got my NES and SNES man the look on my face is just amazing. I was very happy with them. Now days I only have the SNES Classic Edition and 2 NINTENDO 2DS system and yeah I love playing both of them. I would to win The Switch and the Nintendo 3DS XL that would complete my Collection!!!

Just discovering your channel, yay! Bizarrely the game that convinced my mum that video games might actually be a force for good was actually Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening on the Gameboy. She heard me and my brother discussing the story, trying to figure out what the mystery was and what to do next, and decided that maybe video games weren't all "mindless violence" 😂. Zelda and Pokémon are still my favourites to this day!
John, I hope that I'm as fortunate as you to be married to a woman who loves video games, has excellent taste and dark hair! That eHarmony story was cool!
Kithalie Thx! I feel the same way about Fortnite. I'm a JRPG fan, so Zelda, Pokemon and Fire Emblem are my favorite Nintendo games. I started going to cons recently and was amazed at how many attractive video game fans there. ;]
It started when I first heard about LOZ, my first ever Nintendo product and game was Ocarina of Time(n64) and it is still one of my favorite games to this day.
I couldn't either until I got a nice decent paying job half a year ago. Finally found an amazing deal and couldn't turn it down about 4 months ago, $280 for a neon switch, with 5 games; Mario Odyssey, Zelda BotW, Spla2oon, MK8D, and DKC Tropical Freeze, 2 64gb Switch SD cards, a pro controller, and a carry case... Then I wanted a Ps4 lol, found a hella nice gold limited edition 1tb Slim with 9 games for $170 about a month and a half ago. Then just last week got me a One X for $300. Picking up the 4k tv next week. Get a good job, save up the money, and you too can do the same.
As a child with multiple siblings, Nintendo was the staple in my home. However, that also meant no single player games allowed. I have vague memories of my brother letting us use his Nintendo 64, but only for a couple of days. He had Mario 64, but that was single player. We had a Gamecube, and played hours of Double Dash and Sonic Heroes. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm pretty sure those were the only games we had. I BEGGED my parents for a Gameboy every Christmas and birthday for 3 years, but never got one. My oldest sister did on her birthday one year and I remember being super upset because she NEVER asked one. It's been years, and I'm still salty. After that, my mom surprised us with the Wii for Christmas around when it first came out. Hours of Mario Kart, Mario Party, and Wii Sports. My brother did surprise me with a DS Lite for my birthday the year after (I think), with New Super Mario Bros. That game was the only game I had for the system, but I didn't mind because I could download play with all my friends who also had a DS. Then my twin broke it-TWICE. First time she dropped it she broke the hinge. Second time she dropped it in the sink and broke the bottom screen. Funny when I had my DS Lite it was OUR DS Lite, but when she got her DSi a year or two later, it was HER DSi. Gotta love sisters. When the 3DS came out, I couldn't afford one. I remember digging out my sisters old DSi when Smash 4 came out and bringing it to lunch thinking I could download play with my friends. I kid you not, they all laughed at me. One of my friends gave me his old 3DS for my birthday when he got a new one. The circle pad was crap, you had to hold it in a certain way for it to charge, and the camera was broken, but I LOVED that system to pieces. First game I got for it was Dragon Ball Fusions and I sunk days into that game. I even bought Smash 4. Those were the only 2 games I had for the system. Now, here I am at 22 and making my own money. I realized that absolutely nothing is stopping me from buying the games and systems I want. I've always wanted to play Legend of Zelda since Twilight Princess came out. I begged my mom, but alas it was a single player game. Now, I got a Hylian Shield New 2DS XL and have picked up a 3DS with the Ambassador Certificate so I can transfer it only. I really only want the Minish Cap, but oh well. I decided that I'm gonna play through all the main line Zelda games and nothing can stop me! If you made through my whole Nintendo story, good job. Also, you gotta stop knocking collectors, Erica. The ONLY reason you were able to get that new SP was because someone saw the value of keeping it in pristine condition in the box.
My sister got a Wii when I was 5, and she never used it, so I used it and played McQueen and Mario games, then I got a PS4 for my 10 birthday, and just recently got a Nintendo SWITCH
I'm so proud of you some I wish to be like that with all the game systems and collect every Pokemon game out there including the 2019 Pokemon sword and should one as well
Here's my story, as requested: It was maybe 1987 or 1988. Maybe earlier...? Anywho, my dad bought me an NES system because I showed so much interest in the system and always hung out at friend's houses who had one. SNES wasn't a thing yet. I got to play Mario and Excitebike, Duck Hunt and Castlevania too. Played it for years but was never able to get the SNES and my dad wouldn't buy my a GameBoy because he said the Sega Gamegear was superior. I was obsessed with portable gaming. It wasn't until 1998 that I bought my own own GameBoy Color. I still have it and it still works great. I got Pokemon blue version and it has only snow-balled from there. I have gone through nearly every handheld system at this point, including the failed Game.com. I've since played and own a copy of most Pokemon games to date. Currently, I am in love with the Switch and my 3DS still doesn't get a chance to get to get turned off because I play it near daily too. My wife and I each have a Switch and love playing together. It's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and I wouldn't change it.
The way I first discovered Nintendo was in 2017 or 2018 when I was 5 or 6 and was at my uncle's cottage. My uncle's son had a Wii. It was homebrewed and had Mario Kart Wii on it. I played Mario Kart with my cousins and went "WOAH, WOAH!" the whole time because I didn't really understand those kinds of video games back then. Here I am now with a Nintendo Switch with 9 games. I also have a bootleg NES Classic Edition with 300+ games on it as my first "Nintendo" console.
My 11 yr old pink DS lite still works incredibly. Never broke the hinge and the stylus was still intact until I let my niece play with it and she bit off the stylus' tip. She also scratched the LCD. 🥲😶
My dad bought me a purple gameboy color with a bootleg 18 in 1 cartridge when i was 8. I still have it to this day. It's what started me in videogames. Just bought a Purple 2DS XL yesterday and waiting for it in the mail.
@@elhad9453 I can afford a switch lite because it's cheaper with my own money . I would buy it for christmas but I will buy a frying pan for christmas and not a switch
Your story was like going back in time...for me it was so similar and Nintendo became my favorite gaming company no matter the competition..gave a sub looking forward to more videos while I watch all your old one's lol🤟
By absolute sheer luck, my New 3DS XL that I’ve had for years happened to have dual IPS screens and until last month I had no idea that wasn’t a standard thing
My first Nintendo system was a light blue DSi. I have a lot of fun with New Super Mario Bros. and Mario Kart DS. I put stickers on it because I thought it looked good but I wanted to remove them. They wouldn't come off so I use a sink .... It didn't turn on. I don't have it anymore but a few years after that , my sister gave me her pink DS Lite (she got it the same time I got my DSi). To this day , it still works. The Nintendo systems I currently have are the DS Lite , 2DS and Nintendo Switch.
My nintendo story is.. It all started when I was 4 or 6 and my aunt didn’t want her Nintendo Dsi anymore, I gladly took it playing a training dolphin game everyday after school. When I lost the charger to that, I became 8 and my uncle bought me a Nintendo 2DS. It lasted until I was 9 but I also lost the charger to that. I kept finding the charger then losing it, that went on until I couldn’t find it anymore. Then I became 10, I got a Nintendo Switch for Christmas and got Splatoon 2, never played the original but loved the second. :)
My first console was the Gameboy Pocket with Super Mario Land. Both that still work to this day! Man, this video was a trip! I remember picking up the DS Lite and playing Pokemon D/P/P onwards!
Here’s an unpopular opinion: Super Mario Odyssey is my least favorite Mario game. Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite by far, even though I prefer the 2d games
I had a Gameboy, an NES and a SNES when I was a child and I skipped every major console after that due to getting a PC. Then I bought a DS Lite for 50 € six weeks ago and I have also bought a brand new New 2DS XL and a used New 3DS XL plus almost 100 games for GBA, NDS and 3DS since then. These handhelds are so awesome and the library of games available for these three generations of handhelds is just f-ing amazing! Cant believe I could live so long without a Nintendo DS ^^
My story began with the Wii and ds, in my life I had 2 Wii consoles and a ds that I lost, my Wii didn’t work with just dance 2014 (I was obsessed with JD) so my mum got me one on Facebook for £20 with 2 games, tony hawk pro skater and Ferrari challenge, the fuse broke and it would crash whenever I tried to play a game so it was only a horoscope console, so we stopped using it, the old Wii was modded but my young self deleted the game folder thing on the Wii and I still regret it to this day lol... I got a 3DS but only had mario party, then mum got me mysims and my step dad got me this theme park game, my first 3DS game was Pokemon moon in 2016, I chose popplio and beat the game without losing a single battle, I got a switch for Xmas in 2017 and had Lego worlds and pokken tournament, now I have them and Pokemon shield, I chose scorbunny and, again, beat it without losing, 3 times but 1 was a nuzlocke but I only lost my arcanine. There’s way more to know but this comment is getting kinda long

I just found your channel the other day. It's amazing! Love your content.
You are my favorite!! Wife and I are literally freaking out at all your game systems :)
I was late to the 3ds, but I honestly got hooked. Link to the past and Samus Returns are my favorite and Im glad I finally got to experience them. Best portable console to date imo
Swag Trooper same. Im slowly working up my collection.
Same I was late to the 3ds
The DS Lite was the most remarkable console for me because of the liberty I had to play. I didn't have to share TV time anymore with my dad or with my brother.
I’m 20, and this gives me hope that it’s not too late for me to get into gaming.
It’s videos like this that make me regret my younger self trading in older Nintendo equipment and games to get new stuff. I mean, I was broke back then but man, I wish I could bring that stuff back!
I think you might have a problem Erika... Not a bad problem, one of the good problems. Nintendo collection for the win!

It's so comforting to see someone sharing that they love Nintendo and don't care what all the toxic PlayStation fanboys have to say about it. 👍🏻
DeadofWinter321 that would make you a toxic Nintendo fanboy, but i get your point
DeadofWinter321 Whatdyou day about PlayStation fanboys?!
@@dantenage9687 - And you couldn't be anymore wrong. I see I triggered a PS fanboy. I like my PC and Xbox X too much to be solely a Nintendo fanboy. ;)
DeadofWinter321 um, i didn’t see any comment from a pony in this video. The only one talking shit about Other company was you, so that makes you a toxic Nintendo fanboy. Actually i’m a collector, my first console was a nes so no, i’m not a fanboy at all. That stupid shit was invented by stupid millenials like you. I love videogames but i hate the way companies are bleeding their fans with dlc and payed online service crap that you embrace like brainless zombies and i admit as a rational human being that nintendo has made terrible mistakes and there’s no fanboy, not even pc elitists, as toxic as a Nintendo fanboy
Cool story, fanboy.
Nathaniel Bandy: Look at this little guy, who could resist a Game Boy Micro?!
Erica Griffin: I couldn’t.
Sorry that was long, just wanted to share my experience :D
omg that was wholesome and very cute!!
More like How Nintendo Took Over My Wallet.
XD
I still have my game boy classic, game boy pocket, game boy color, game boy advance, game boy advance sp (I missed the micro), Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, two Nintendo 3DS and my beautiful Wii. I'll have the Switch in the next month.
Thanks for sharing your consoles and histories. ☺
The decoration of the DS/3DS consoles has very interesting design that links to their special edition, making me more willing to own and collect different editions. I've got friends who own 3-4 2DS/3DS.
I love your collection, I'm so glad I still have my Famicon Edition of the GameBoy Micro complete with the box and everything to this day
ive been waiting for your content to come out! keep making nintendo vids please!!!
I never had a console. How many of you have the same story as me?
Sniffy Rocks time to get a job 😎
Same
Man.... I feel bad for you...
@@crispy531 I've always wanted one as a child but I felt really bad about asking my parents for one. But now I do have a plan to buy a Nintendo switch myself.
I also never had one but wanted one as a kid but didn’t know what it was😂😂😂
Now I’m planning to get a 3ds xl
Just discovering your channel, yay! Bizarrely the game that convinced my mum that video games might actually be a force for good was actually Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening on the Gameboy. She heard me and my brother discussing the story, trying to figure out what the mystery was and what to do next, and decided that maybe video games weren't all "mindless violence" 😂. Zelda and Pokémon are still my favourites to this day!
You just gained a new Subscriber!
I love your attention to detail!
You're DEFINITELY gonna be one of my fav channels!
John, I hope that I'm as fortunate as you to be married to a woman who loves video games, has excellent taste and dark hair! That eHarmony story was cool!
I am happy my husband loves videogames too.
Va Mu Your husband is very fortunate too. It's not common to find a woman that likes video games. :]
So sweet, I'm trying to find a guy who loves Nintendo games and consoles, it's all about fortnite nowadays 😒
Kithalie Thx! I feel the same way about Fortnite. I'm a JRPG fan, so Zelda, Pokemon and Fire Emblem are my favorite Nintendo games. I started going to cons recently and was amazed at how many attractive video game fans there. ;]
Im a girl and if I talk to men about nintendo and technology they think Im weird and childish :( I just have fun playing..
It started when I first heard about LOZ, my first ever Nintendo product and game was Ocarina of Time(n64) and it is still one of my favorite games to this day.
Both of my 3DS XLs broke by the hinges. My dream team model survived with a cracked hinge for 3 years
Fondly remember being like 5-6 & playing the NES back in the 80’s. Nintendo always made things fun in a magical way…
One day I'm gonna be a nintendo hoarder. You guys don't know how much I admire your collection and am envious at the same time haha
Nintendo collections are amazing.
I love this channel, who else is stoked for animal crossing this year?
Aiden White me! I’m going to get a switch in May probably and animal crossing is one of my favorites
Not me... I prefer smash and zelda
Wayyy to much.. I check every single day for news
I’ve wanted a switch since they came out, but I’ve not had the money to buy one😓
Same, same
Same
same I manipulated my brother so that he bought me one do the same
I saved up 4 months and traded in the old trusty wii u for it in March and I'm satisfied with the console
I've watched this video so many times. It never gets old!
My sister got a Wii when I was 5, and she never used it, so I used it and played McQueen and Mario games, then I got a PS4 for my 10 birthday, and just recently got a Nintendo SWITCH
I'm so proud of you some I wish to be like that with all the game systems and collect every Pokemon game out there including the 2019 Pokemon sword and should one as well
Finally a new video! Will you be going to MWC this year?
Here's my story, as requested:
It was maybe 1987 or 1988.
Ooooo! The Pearl Pink DS Lite was my very first DS. Had a blue normal DS but that don't count cause it broke soon after I got it.
Woah I already bought it in this day sept 21 2019😂😂 love your video ❤️ I love gameboy advance👍🏼👍🏼
Is it still possible to enter for the “ Galaxy Nintendo Switch “ ... 😂
The wig!! Yoo, I couldn't stop laughing!🤣 great video.
My 11 yr old pink DS lite still works incredibly. Never broke the hinge and the stylus was still intact until I let my niece play with it and she bit off the stylus' tip. She also scratched the LCD. 🥲😶
Nintendo has taken over my life too!
I like nintendo ..i have new 2ds xl 😊
Now i want nintendo switch..
I would recommend it!
well, 2ds has its quirks that make it a pretty good console... also, it's the newest nintendo console
ayyy i got new 3ds xl :D
I have the switch
liam c is 2DS xl better then 3DS xl?
LOL i didn't even know my DS Lite's hinge was broken til this video
I realised it after your comment
My dad bought me a purple gameboy color with a bootleg 18 in 1 cartridge when i was 8. I still have it to this day. It's what started me in videogames.
Just bought a Purple 2DS XL yesterday and waiting for it in the mail.
Tbh, your 3ds collection is almost as impressive as Nintendrew’s Game Boy collection.
Why haven’t you reviewed the 2DS XL Animal Crossing Edition yet?
I would always get pissed when my brother would beat me in Mario tennis for the wii
Imagine being 20 and receiving your first ds..Lmao fun..
I am 23 and finally just bought my first Nintendo console, the 3DS. It will do until I can save up for a switch.
Nini same, even tho i’m only 13 i also have a 3ds and i don’t think i can afford a switch Anytime soon.
@@elhad9453 I can afford a switch lite because it's cheaper with my own money . I would buy it for christmas but I will buy a frying pan for christmas and not a switch
Gameboy Advance was my first Nintendo game console. I lost it in fifth grade. So sad...
I discovered pokemon at the age of 39. I now understand EVERYTHING. 🤣
Better late than never
I started playing Nintendo game when I was 5/6
get out of here u virgin
Same i started with mario sunshine
For me I was three years old
I love your nintendo switch galaxy
My story with Nintendo...
I had a Wii, than, Wii U, then Switch.
yeah that’s it =/
Same with me, but I also grew up with DS and 3DS

Your story was like going back in time...for me it was so similar and Nintendo became my favorite gaming company no matter the competition..gave a sub looking forward to more videos while I watch all your old one's lol🤟
By absolute sheer luck, my New 3DS XL that I’ve had for years happened to have dual IPS screens and until last month I had no idea that wasn’t a standard thing
I had a ds lite and i never charged it. It lasted 8 months!
Alvin and the Chipmunks 3 DS XL for so long
You have so many 3ds's....It's insane I'm still over here saving up for one.-I had a DS Lite but I broke it from play to much......
Golden Nugget you can get a 2ds for like 99 euro lmao if u get it used it’s 40 euro that’s 112 dollars usd and 45 dollars
Same systems! And your sister is the BEST!
@@shinyhunterjelly4218 Awesome! Also, my sister says 'Thanks!' :D
@@NB_06 haha🤣
You had really great parents because now u a r educated and living a great life keep up the good work and god bless
You never got the DSi and the regular Nintendo 2DS
My 2ds xl never turned on after 1 week
Woah I only had the 3ds and the new 2ds xl that I just got a few days ago :o
3:19 *Happy! Mario*
Yes a I am
Here’s an unpopular opinion: Super Mario Odyssey is my least favorite Mario game. Super Mario Galaxy is my favorite by far, even though I prefer the 2d games
If I may ask, why don't you like Odyssey as much as the other Mario games?
TheGrayGhost In my opinion, I feel like there wasn’t too much to explore and not many challenges
