    I made this yesterday, took me wayy more than 30min but came out so cool. I used thick black velvet and interfaced half of the pieces. Don't forget to trim & clip your curves and use your iron at each step, it changes everything (and maybe topstitch the border) ! Also i would recommand sewing a line near the border of the hat to create a channel so that the wire doesn't move. Also, as usual : always right sides together.

    I made this hat just now! However, it took me about 2 hours because of the selection of fabric. It's gorgeous, I want to wear it every day 😭

    It took a while because I had to recut one brim, and I hand sewed because I do not have access to a sewing machine. But I'm dearly in love with it, I used blue fabric and it's AMAZING. Thank you!

    I made this and I absolutely love it! Pink & Purple reversible witch hat. I added interfacing to the cone and that was great for shape but not for flipping. As it came out a little on the small size I'm whipping up another larger and well black as is far more befitting of a witch of my years haha ... I mean cackle cackle!!

    Ahh this is so helpful! I was making a reversible hat using a tentative pattern and my mom brain just couldn’t wrap my head (harhar) around how to get the reversible sides together after connecting the brim 😂😂 thank you!

    For the circle, please note when you do this that its an outer 10inch and inner 4inch RADIUS, not diameter.

    im here to say the tutorial is really great and it's totally possible to make this hat without any experience, sewing machine or idea what you're doing, it's just that it took me a WHOLE day instead of 30 minutes 🥲 but totally worth it

    I love your tutorial but I'm stumped. You say to sew "wrong sides together" for the cone and attaching the cone to the brim. But that's leaving me exposed seams. Wouldn't you sew those right sides together?

    • @coffeemacchiato7866
      @coffeemacchiato7866 2 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      I did it sewing the right sides together, I was confused whit her explanation too, but I think she just said it wrong jaja

      Yeah, I gave up! The exposed seams, the brim and cone not matching up.
      Wasted material.😒

    Thanks for the video! Do you think it'd be possible to make this hat with calico fabric?

    • @scully0521
      @scully0521 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      im going to try that and using interfacing to stabilize the fabric, I will let you know how it turned out!! Hopefully she answers though, lol

    • @scully0521
      @scully0521 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used Calico cotton fabric and Pellon 971FF interfacing, the wire is what keeps the shape of the brim. Mine turned out perfectly!!

    • @kbrdthenerd
      @kbrdthenerd ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@scully0521 Perfect, thanks so much! Did you need any interfacing or anything on the conical part also to make sure it wasn't too floppy?

    • @scully0521
      @scully0521 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kbrdthenerd I wanted mine floppy so I did not use interfacing on the cone, but it really doesn't need it. If you want to use interfacing to stabilize the cone, that would work... you could probably use a wire and sew it into the back of the cone to make it stand up as well. Hope that helps!!

    Please, what's your head circumference and height? I'd like to know whether it won't be falling into my eyes and won't look crazy high or short on me 😅💛

    • @briandaaranda9735
      @briandaaranda9735 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You might be better off doing your own head circumference. All heads are different, especially if you have thick/full hair! However, a 4 inch radius will give you a circumference of about 25 inches. My own head is about 23 inches around. You also need to take into account where you want the hat to sit (directly across your forehead vs sitting more towards the back of your head).

    1:36 that's definitely meant to be "right sides together" currenty seam ripping the entire cone to fix this :(

    Sewing 1/2 inch in on the cones made it so the cone circle was smaller than the inner donut circle and so it didn’t align when I tried to sew. Also it was very difficult to sew the cone onto the inner circle of the brim.
