I found your tutorial so helpful when making my Professor McGonagall hat for World Book Day here in the UK. My only downfall was attaching the cone to the brim too far up the cone, which meant that despite my careful measurements my gorgeous black velvet hat is ever so slightly too small! I know for next time… thank you for posting this, it is a brilliant tutorial and a wonderful hat 🥰
Thanks for this. I tried to make a bucket hat (sun hat) this summer and I'm still laughing at how it came out. This video will help when I try again. Happy Halloween! 🎃
First, thanks for the math classes, I did the operation three times and it didn't come out because I didn't look closely. Later, thank you very much for so much creativity. I was looking for a hat that would show a lot of movement and I found your video and I think it's great. Congratulations and thank you
I've watched alot of witch hat making this week. I like yours the best. I too am making a velvet fabric witch hat. It's an olive green color. I'm going for more of a fall/hippy style. Your cone making process has been different from others with your adding a bottom inside part, and wire as well. I think i will do that too. Glad i saw this video before starting the cone part😀
Thank you for this great tutorial! It's really clear and well explained. I made a hat for my daughter yesterday and it turned out brilliantly, she loves it!
Thank you very much for taking time to made this wonderful tutorial. I will try to sew this for my daughter as all the Witch hats I ser in my area are really awfull 😅. This one it’s so gorgeous and elegant. Really love it ❤❤
I am so looking forward to making this hat, what a great tutorial. Can you please tell me the measurement for the height of your hat. Thank you, Samantha.
Loved your tutorial! Your clear, step-by-step explanation are perfect. The beautiful crushed velvet is amazing. I am currently working on a Professor McGonagall costume, but I have very little sewing skills. I am both excited and highly challenged to create a hat as beautiful as yours. Could you please let me know more about the materials for the interfacing? Could I use cardboard? By the way, I am Joana, from São Paulo, Brazil.
Hello ! I hope your costume is coming along great 👍 yes you can use cardboard but it will be difficult to bend it the way you like and also your hat would be ruined if it rains... You can use whatever heavy fabric you find or just make something with several layers of lighter fabrics if needed. Hope that helps ! Happy sewing ❤️❤️
Dear Romy, thanks a lot for this video! 👏👏😃💖 Gorgeous hat! I will do it! I've discovered your channel through this video, and I've subscribed. I love your explanations and visual aid. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷 💙
Merci énormément :P !! This pattern is super well explained; I was able to construct my own with hat too :P (Despite the fact that I don't have a sewing machine and all of the stitches were done by hand ! )
Love your witch hat and dress i can sew a little but wish it would have been in inches but not so good at math but it's a looks great i don't give up so I'll give it a go thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Magique 😊!
This video's is really useful thanks you for sharing this with us I am going to do this hat see what happens I wish it will turn out to be gorgeous hat like you ❤❤❤
What happens if the needle accidentally hit the wire while you're sewing? Has that ever happened to you? Did the needle snap? Did it fly as it snapped? I like making hat but I've always been scare to use sewing machine to sew so close to the wire boning, so I always resort to sewing by hand for that part :(
I understand 😉 I sew slowly and carefully and with my fingers I always touch the fabric before it goes under the presserfoot, making sure there is no wire under my needle. You can do it 👍👍🌸🍃

Thank you, Samantha.
I have gifted my hat and I don’t remember how tall I made it. From the top of my head (no pun intended 😉) I’d say about 40 cms. Hope that helps 😇

Did you make the dress too? if so - what pattern did you use?
Yes I did 😉 I draped it on my dress form. It is custom made, so I didn't use any pattern.
Hello 👋 What kind of interfacing did you use?
Something quite thick! I am sorry I don’t remember the brand though 😇 if needed you can even double your interfacing. Happy sewing 🌸
Beautiful work
Thank you 😊

It's called 'Causons couture' ! You can find it on the Podcast App. Or through Instagram as well @ateliersherwood
Amei🥰✨💫👍🏻 parabéns 👏👏👏
Thank you 🙏
Beautiful of you
Thank you 🙏
What kind of fabric did you use I am looking for something sturdy. Thanks
I am using crushed velvet and then I add strong interfacing. When making a hat you really need this extra support 😇
Es muy lindo
Thank you 😊
Wonderfull
Thank you 🥰
Lindo!!! E o vestido? Vai ensinar?
Thank you 🙏 I draped the dress on my dress form. Maybe someday I’ll make a class on draping, or flat pattern making 😉 Happy sewing ! 🌸
where do you get this fabric. Im so inlove
Hi Raquel ! This fabric is called crushed velvet (panne de velours). You can google that and you'll find something similar. Happy sewing 🌷🌷
What happens if the needle accidentally hit the wire while you're sewing? Has that ever happened to you? Did the needle snap? Did it fly as it snapped? How long/tall did you make it?
I don't remember and I gave the hat away 😇 Something like 50 to 60 cms I'd say. Happy sewing ✂️🌷
❤❤❤
😊😊😊
Loved this tutorial but will u just make one for me?
Shame you didn't tell me earlier, I gifted this one to my little neighbour 🤣🤣😇 happy sewing !
@@RomyStanZakStudio it’s made so beautifully…thank you for your reply!
Thank you 😊
Is possible to use tutorial, have it it not bend?
Yes of course, you can leave it straight without adding the wire inside 😊
@@RomyStanZakStudio thank you!! Im almost finished with it, I think I measured wrong… I shall start From square one!! Thank you for your tutorial!!
You can do it ! Make sure to add some ease (1,5 or 2 extra cms) when you mesure your head side. 👍👍
Debería tener traducción quede ploff😢😢😢😢
I have it in french if you want ? 😊😊🎃
🙏🏼🙏🏼💖💖🧹🧹🧙🏼♀🧙🏼♀
🍁🍁🍁 Belle couture !
No entendi nada no se ingles
What a firm interfacing …. To you?
Something strong enough to support the weight of the outer fabric and create the shape of the hat. Happy sewing 🌷
You are teaching maths or hat
Both 🤣🤣
Me gustaría que se tradujera a español 😢
I wish I could ! 🌿🔆
