    Wish I would have found your video sooner. I'm definitely making my own hat next year for our annual witches ride for charity.

    This was good! I know you said you messed up a little but seriously we don't always need to see every step and sometimes mistakes teach us the most.
    I would love it if you did another one. Personally I was looking for more traditional dark colors, but I really liked the floral print.

    What a cute witchy hat! I also make mistakes when I sew sleepy. But sometimes I cut or sew things backwards even when I’m wide awake! That’s okay, I have lots of bits for quilting.
    Love your tutorial! Do some more!

    The video helped me a lot. Thank you.
    Especially since I didn't know how to make my hat so sturdy that it didn't lose its shape, because I had to put a lot of decorations on the hat (a large bow, lots of flowers, chains and lace).
    I made my hat a lot bigger and used black polyjester and gray felt for the inside.
    My hat has become relatively heavy because of the decoration, but it still stays in the position in which I turned it.
    Now I'm ready for the Halloween party. ^^💜

    Do you have any advice about how I would go about making a sheer fabric witch hat 👒? Ty!😊

    • @FelicitasSews
      @FelicitasSews  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@chinkids2762 if you want the hat itself to be sheer I'm not really sure, since all the ones I've made required interfacing. Maybe making a base hat in a similar colour fabric, and the essentialy doing an overlay with the sheer fabric could work? Or if you made a very small one you could just stiffen it with sizing. Or possibly you could use a clear plastic (like the kind used for folders) as the interfacing in the brim part? It might take some experimenting 😅

    • @chinkids2762
      @chinkids2762 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @FelicitasSews I remember seeing a sheer witch that years ago at a halloween store it was black with tiny gold stars all over it! Not buying it at the time could kick myself! I wanted to re-create it and found some similar fabric online but have no idea how to do it. 🎃

    Can you write the formula of the head? English is not my first lenguaje so I didnt get it that well

    • @FelicitasSews
      @FelicitasSews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's just calculating the radius of the circle from the circumference of your head. So: r=c/6.28 and then you can add a little extra so it's not too tight. hope that makes sense!

  • @HappyArtDesign
    @HappyArtDesign 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So there s a wire in the cone, but did you use the wire to go all around (close to) you're head to?

    • @lillian7233
      @lillian7233 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would suggest you don't put wire against your skull like that for comfort's sake. If you'd like it to be tighter around the head, I'd probably say you should stitch a strip of elastic around the base of the cone

    • @FelicitasSews
      @FelicitasSews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, just up the side of the cone and along the outer edge of the brim

    How hard do you think this would be as a first sewing project

    • @Regnye4Artist
      @Regnye4Artist 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Do you know your sewing machine? If not I would suggest making a bow so you can see how your machine is and test out the different functions of it along with interfacing and the wire trick she does.

    • @FelicitasSews
      @FelicitasSews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not totally sure, its been a while since I was a beginner, and i'm a dive in head first kind of person. This involves a few different things, like pattern drafting and the interfacing which was slightly tricky. but its also a fairly small project, so it doesn't use too much material and isn't a huge commitment if that makes sense. It might be easier to follow a commercial pattern, since they probably have all the pieces and steps laid out a little more clearly than I do. It might also be a good idea to try out the techniques you need on smaller scraps of fabric first as well.

    • @FelicitasSews
      @FelicitasSews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sewed completely around the outside brim of the hat, but I left the circle in the middle open and used that to turn it inside out.
