Happy Weds everyone! Even though we could not physically be at the Toyota event last week, our good friend Alex really helped us out so we owe him big! We were a little surprised by his 0-60 MPH time of 6.9 secs, we’re looking forward to seeing what we can get when we test one back home very soon. Be sure to also check out Alex’s video on his channel after you’re done watching this one! We’re also 100% recovered now and heading to AZ today to drive the new 2023 Escalade V!
3:31 : The most realistic car reviewer I've seen in quite some time ! To the Editor, thanks for leaving all of Alex's quirks and features in the final cut!!
This is one of my favorite Redline reviews as of recent. Alex your personality is perfect for these reviews! 1:55 the way he paused and looks over at the camera is straight out of a comedy.😂
Sequential Turn signals. Hybrid powertrain. Panoramic moonroof. 12.3” digital display. More power/towing capabilities. Better infotainment. Why would anyone choose a LX over this?
Especially since the LX doesn't even offer ventilated-massaging FRONT seats, only in the rear and only in the tippy-top $130K model. Nor is the hydraulic suspension standard anymore.
Toyota messed up with cargo and third row space. Ford and GM did a much better job packaging the Expedition and Tahoe to give decent cargo space while also giving a third row adults actually can sit in for long periods of time
Totally agree. I was going to reserve mine at a local toyota dealer but after seeing the trunk space and the fact that the 2nd row doesn't move was a total deal breaker for me.
I think Toyota missed the mark on the Sequoia and the Tundra. I guess sales numbers will tell the tale if the Toyota fan boys will overlook the obvious shortcomings.
I think Toyota got lazy in not putting Independent rear suspension in the Sequoia like the previous model. Especially since the Tahoe, Expedition, Armada are IRS. The previous generation 3rd row was pretty roomy and floor was lower since there was no live rear axle.
Love hearing Alex dropping some F'bombs lol. We definitely need more of that lol. This sounds like a lot of misses to me. I like Toyota a lot, but I am not impressed. It does look good though
@@kylem324 for me the big miss is the amount of room in back with the seats folded down. It's insane how bad it is. I'm not sure my dogs could even stand in the back of the new sequoia. My armada has way more room and it's always been small compared to the sequoia. This new sequoia looks really good, but utility speaking, it's a miss, especially with no tow hooks, even on the TRD Pro, which is just nuts. The price doesn't help either.
Alex you killed it! Great review as always! You and Sofyan should guest star on each other's channel!! Just like radio disc jockeys did from the 1950's to the 1980's!! My two favorite reviewers Sofyan and Alex!!
Love your review and just being straight up honest. The ride and the third row seating with the shelving system did it for me.I was waiting for the reviews to come out before I made a decision am now going with 2022 Z71 Tahoe I will pick up next week.
Their voices are almost the same I didn't realize it was Alex at first because I wasn't really paying much attention when I first started playing it. Great job on filling in.
Wondering if Toyota will come out with a "extended length" version of this...that'd solve the head rest issues in the third row seat and also be in a league with the Suburban, Escalade ESV and Yukon XL
Toyota really dropped the ball on that battery placement. That horrid rear storage area makes this a complete non-starter for anyone in the market for a 3-row simply for the extra space, and planning to keep the 3rd row down most of the time.
A Kia Telluride has more cargo room with slightly better 3rd passenger legroom in it's position. Granted, it's not a hybrid but what's the point of a large SUV when it's barely better or equal to space wise than midsize SUVs/CUVs?
I'm so disappointed with the new generation of Tundra and Sequoia. It's as if they sat down and asked "what do people love most about both?" Then decided to to the complete opposite.
This thing is seriously under-baked. The GM 6.2 and Expedition are faster despite being less powerful and not as torquey. It is more cramped than the Big 3, and despite all its hybrid hoopla, 20MPG ain't all that.
Great overview as usual Alex! Though the build quality on this vehicle will not be at the level of the LX built half by hands of the great takumi masters at the famed Tahara plant in Japan but it seems this vehicle has more features. Sadly Lexus really did a half baked job on the new LX in my opinion plus this vehicle looks better!
@@jacobrael9872 Agreed! And I know for a fact that since moving several models to be built in Kentucky along side the camry and Avalon, they have gotten cheaper feeling in build and assembly quality. Never had that with my previous 5 LEXUS ES models that were all built in Japan! Also my Kentucky built 2019 has had 3 recalls and my previous 5 built in Japan had none. Coincidence....? I think not!
I really like this redesign a bit disappointed with the 3rd row headroom but it’s fine cos I don’t really use the 3rd row in our that often anyway, the hybrid powertrain is really enticing especially in stop and go traffic, definitely more efficient than the last GMC Yukon 6.2 we rented 😂
Well that was a different review than we’re used to (LOL). But still a good review. This Toyota is a great SUV, but I’ll never be able to afford one myself but the lucky folks that can will find a great vehicle made by a great car company. Thanks for giving the trucks that little salute, I do it all the time.
Thank you very much! Liked, subscribed and shared. My absolute favorite TH-cam channel by far. It’s an absolutely amazing monster that we can dream of driving one day, if we’re so lucky.
I really want to like the new sequoia, but Toyota dropped the ball on everything behind the second row. The hybrid battery ruins third row leg and head space. And try as they might I’m not sold on the whole shelf system for the cargo area. Overly complicated for what should be a simple open space. The hybrid power train should have been an option not standard on all models. This works on the Tundra because the Tundra is obviously a pickup with a third row and enclosed cargo area. What executive or engineer signed off on this? I see that hybrid battery disappearing or being moved forward during a mid cycle refresh in a few years. After they fail to make a dent in Tahoe or Expedition sales because of it. My advise the best way to enjoy this new Sequoia is to pretend you’re in a Tundra and there is nothing behind the second row.
How do you manage to butcher the third row space for adults _and_ cargo space generally in your largest most expensive SUV that took over a decade for the redesign to get here?? Only Toyota Motors. My goodness. There’s really no reason to choose this Sequoia over the Tundra unless you have really small kids. They certainly phoned this redesign in and it shows! Not nearly enough thought and usability went into this design.

Glad you feeling better.
He did a decent job, good great value version of you lol
Hey Bud! Im a Nurse and business owner..Glad you are feeling better!
Probably a little cold?
I like this guy's style. He should have a permanent position at Redline.
He has his own channel
His channels are Alex on Autos and EV Buyers Guide. I’ve been watching him for 8 years and he’s my favorite of all the car reviewers
Yeah this guy is a good dude. His channel is great as well.
He is a good man
Would be great to have you both collaborate more. Great review!
Literally do it all the time
backstreet Boys and *NSYNC will NEVER collaborate, oops I mean Alex & Redline.
3:31 : The most realistic car reviewer I've seen in quite some time ! To the Editor, thanks for leaving all of Alex's quirks and features in the final cut!!
It was intentional. If you were following Alex and Sofian enough you'd know he is mocking Sofian 🤣
Alex was spicy on this one! 😂. Plus it was really poignant driving a vehicle that is probably worth double the houses that he was passing.
I think Alex needs a Snickers! 🤣
Alex is the effing man! It's heartwarming to see him help you guys out like that.

Great video Alex! I think this SUV is great. Really interested in seeing how this will hold up 4-5 years from now.
It’s a Toyota
Sequential Turn signals. Hybrid powertrain. Panoramic moonroof. 12.3” digital display. More power/towing capabilities. Better infotainment. Why would anyone choose a LX over this?
My thought exactly!
Especially since the LX doesn't even offer ventilated-massaging FRONT seats, only in the rear and only in the tippy-top $130K model. Nor is the hydraulic suspension standard anymore.
This SUV is definitely getting a space in my garage.
Lol, The retakes cuts are awesome 👏

I agree! I've rented a Ford Expedition twice and the interior space is phenomenal. Adults quite easily fit in the 3rd row
I think Toyota missed the mark on the Sequoia and the Tundra. I guess sales numbers will tell the tale if the Toyota fan boys will overlook the obvious shortcomings.

This is really making me want a 4runner redesign…
It’s coming next year!
Careful what you wish for. It'll look good but otherwise, it's gonna suck.
I truly love seeing this collaboration between car youtubers. Especially Sofyan and Alex!!!
Man this thing will look real good sitting in front of my garage 28 days out of the month.
Excellent with the bloopers, I've always seen your videos but now with the bloopers I like it more...
This guy has a good humor, would love to see him more in reviews
Check out his channel Alex on autos, he's an excellent reviewer

I’m glad you’re disappointed. Because it means I was right all along that this suv is dead on arrival
What areas do you think are misses? I think both battery chemistry and capacity has been poorly judged. I want it in a PHEV.
@@naveenthemachine oh naveenthemachine .for you every toyota and lexus is dead on arrival .😂. You are proven wrong again .i feel sad for you .😂

I’m not a Toyota fan,but I love that suv!
Good luck Toyota in selling more than the old gen Sequoia, this is Lexus LX price.
Fucking roof rails rob lol

I like this guy. He should have you do more reviews
Great,Fun,and Funny Review!!! The fails and cut-out takes are AWESOME!!😂😂😂. A+++++++++++😂❤❤❤

They won’t. Even if they make this gargantuan it’ll have less space than a short wheelbase Tahoe 😆😂🤣
Lol I love the comedy 🤣 of the redline reviews
Alex and Sofyan have great channels. I like the cross over - collaboration.
That small of a third row is fine in a smaller SUV like the Sorento, but not ok on a full size SUV that's worth so much dang money
I LOVE THE OUT TAKES😂😂😂 you guys did an amazing job
I'm so disappointed with the new generation of Tundra and Sequoia. It's as if they sat down and asked "what do people love most about both?" Then decided to to the complete opposite.
