1st generation Sequoia is the best. Legendary and unbreakable 2UZ V8 with proper 4x4, rear sliding glass, heated front leather seats, moonroof, haul up to 8 passengers or remove the 3rd row and get crazy amount of cargo space. Perfect size.
The outgoing Sequoia line HAD a fully independent rear suspension. They actually switched to a solid rear axel. Perhaps something to do with the battery pack under the third row. Which in turn ruined a great class leading third row.
@Jas S Disagree. Been running 4 x 4's since the 70's. GMC, Jeep J10, Fords. Solid axle the best for strength. Going the other way you gain some articulation but increase the chance of catastrophic damage. It's a trade off.
I have a 2003 Toyota Sequoia 4WD that bought brand new in 2002. Now 20 years and 260k miles later it still runs good and I still love it. But I am way overdue for a new one. I have been waiting for the new redesign forever. Only to be slapped in face by this joke of vehicle.
I’m happy you’re disappointed. You probably have seen my comments all over the internet saying the sequoia is the most catastrophic sub redesign to date Yet that ended up being 💯 true
Nice honest Review! The Subscription of $30. plus dollars per month! Definite DEAL BREAKER since who knows how high that will go up in the future. Kind of a slap in the face to customer! I would PREFER more upfront charges!
That's what I've Bern planning on getting. Never have I owned a Toyota. Everybody says good things about there reliability. This Seqoua looks much bigger.
@Jas S agree, most of these reviews are persuaded by donations. Motor Trend reviews are the worst when they call out the “best” because it’s more they donated the “most” so they are the best in our review. Best bet is take all the reviews with a grain of salt and do your own research. As a former Toyota employee, I can tell you their quality standards are very high compared to other manufactures.
Hi handsome. My complaints are the following sound noise in cabin insulation, not having double panels glass in ALL glass, not having an extra large fuel tank for a coast to coast cannonball runs. Not offering satellite service for the life of the vehicle, the sequia lacks technology equivalent to audi A8L long wheelbase. This vehicle has a poor suspension and a poor monitor, I would like to have a Samsung note 23 plus ultra 12inch screen Toyota give us what we want.
@Jas S Everything is already baked into the cost of the car - marketing, logistics, development cost, invoice cost, etc. Why do i need to make a monthly payment for a feature that do not have monthly fees as an industry standard? It is an attached luxury addon for a set lump sum like every other manufacturer. The fact that they not charge a monthly fee before and is now doing it is the problem. And if you dont see this as a way to squeeze customers because they think they can, you will see more features being added to a monthly fee in the future. 16x12(month)x10y ears = $1920 with the ability to raise monthly subscription like any subscription services. Stop trying to justify your argument with "bank account" credentials. The Burmester system on one of my dailies is $6k. That is about 8.6% the price of this car. And all this has nothing do with the fact that this auto start feature does not warrant a monthly upkeep.
@Jas S Its only "free" if it given to me without paying for a package - like AC. This is not free And you dont need a subscription for a feature that uses a key to tell the car to send a voltage to the sparkplugs. What is next? heated seats require a subscription fee? Sunroof?
No absolutely not drivers only The sequoia is the biggest catastrophe of an suv redesign 😂. It’s the laughing stock in this category The previous gen is so much better than this in every way
@@marcusg11238 you have no clue what you’re talking about 😂 I unlike you know cars and know Toyotas very well. It’s obvious you need to go to finishing school on cars
hope someday I can have that Toyota Sequoia... love that car....
Thanks for sharing all the information on the added subscription fees! Your review was the only one I've seen to note that!

What do you think of the Grand Highlander 2024?
Palisade is looking better every day !
That's what I've Bern planning on getting. Never have I owned a Toyota. Everybody says good things about there reliability. This Seqoua looks much bigger.
You’ll regret that Palisade purchase in two years. They went cheap on the quality of their parts.

Good tip!

I like the body style. Toyotas are great vehicles
Bought my first one a year ago next month.
They do make incredible cars. I can’t wait to get the Capstone this summer.
This is my dream vehicle!! Terrific job bro.

very nice car
Looks beautiful from the back but the front and the MPG is very disappointing 😢
16 bucks to remote start is ridiculous

Agreed 100%. Toyota heading to a bad place in their redesigns. Have a 07 Crewmax and love it. Can't say the same for the new trash they are pushing.
@@MGMidget73 except the GR corolla and current generation Camry XSE lc500 yeah just about everything else they have is garbage
No v8, no go for me
Major disappointment. Over priced and lame name. Toyota failed all around. Also looks like a Ford flex.
