Felling Three Huge Trees - Our First Time!

We've been waiting to take out a big row of old cypress trees near the house before we could finish our orchard fence. Initially we thought these trees were near the end of their life as we have other similar trees that are, but after felling a few and counting the rings we think they've got a few more years left in them so most of the rest will stay for a while longer yet! Our first time felling trees this big - and it all went without a hitch!

Thank you for changing your minds about felling all those trees. You have a few good stumps there that local wood turners really like I'm sure, or maybe 4 inch slabs for table tops etc etc.. Some people love cutting down trees in N.Z.

You know the chipper wouldn"t jam if you would speed up the tractor until the PTO was running at 550 RPM. You are running it too slow.

You sould really use a hammer lock to join chain. Also you need to swing the drawbar to the side when using the PTO, otherwise you could bend the shaft when lowering or raising the equipment.
