Adding Stairs to Our New Deck | Major Workshop Upgrade

We figured out how to build stairs, yay! We added the finishing touches to the front of our workshop by finally adding a set of stairs to our matching deck and doors. The old stairs were just as shoddy as the old deck and doors - a narrow and steep ascent up slippery and rotting wood. It's a small alteration, but every little improvement to our old homestead brings a smile to our faces whenever we see it or take pleasure in using it. Project compete, skills gained, and XP FTW.

Just found your page, its great to see fellow Kiwi,s in action. If you havnt already get some galvo joist hangers and the proper nails and hang those stringers off the joists with more than nails n screws. Nails corode and pull out eventually, and then you have another Cave Creek accident.

Looks great guys! Mica, always star of the show. Toss some gravel around the base to keep the mud down and stop a depression from forming at the bottom stair. I'm jealous watching your spring arrive as we turn the corner into winter. All the best from Michigan, USA.

Thanks Nathan, great idea! We're hoping to get our driveway and carport re-gravelled at some point too, much of the old stuff has all washed away!

Hmm trying to think , 230 X 280 is a standard step,, about 33 or 34 degrees,,, another trick to concrete posts in ,,, pour the dry mix around your post in the hole ,, leave it down 50mm and top up with water in the morning it will be rock hard ,,
