I love 💕 Subaru's, I am looking into the Crosstrek or Forester ,I miss having a Subaru because they are such a safe car to drive all year and in winter it's very dependable that you are not going to slip all over the place like everyone else is and feel safe in my car and I now that I can depend on my Subaru Forester or my Crosstrek Subaru or Outback Subaru is very dependable because I used to have a Foraster before and it was a older one but it was a dependable older car and I should have gotten a new Or used Subaru outback/Forester sport. No, the backseat of the Forester is hard. Front seat is fine. Honda HR-V seats are hard as a rock. Don't take my word on this, go sit on them. The Subaru might be an excellent choice -- true AWD and easy to get in and out of.
For Japanese cars I always go for leather seats as they tend to be softer than the cloth covered seats in the same model. The rear seats of our Forester Touring are quite comfortable and I honestly think the Forester is more comfortable than Outback or Ascent.

I would not trust the Nissan Rouge. I've been hearing about the unreliability of its turbocharged 3 cylinder engine.
