Please comment your favorite part. We are both incredibly sad to have been robbed of YOUR live reactions!
"Five more kids to kill"
Rizzo thinking $20 heroin is a great deal got me 😂 ❤ we'll react extra next time
6:41 broke me
It ticked me off that she tried to call them and they all ignored her. The twins had it the worse.
13:20 that's one of the fave parts tho 😂❤️
I ugly cried when she thought she was dancing with her husband again in the house...Damnit Nellie deserved better 😢
After Nelly talked about being sick when Luke was going through withdrawals in rehab, you realized that he never got clean because nelly was always on drugs too (her meds). Once she stopped taking her meds, he got better.
Oh my goddddd 🤯
WTF!!! I’ve never heard that or thought about it. That’s wilf
Oof. I don't like that theory because that suggests that being on antidepressants is somehow equivalent to a heroin addiction. Besides, Luke was getting better in rehab while Nell was spiraling through her grief and breakdown prior to her death, and Nell had a happy marriage while Luke was in the grips of addiction. I'd prefer to think that they were both struggling as a result of their trauma and they had parallel situations that were not strictly aligned
@@Andrea-yh3rcit’s not equating that. But if someone who say didn’t need that script of meds (Luke) it would effect him the way they would Nellie.
They reset brain chemistry and chemicals which is a similar outcome of some hard drugs. So the theory is actually pretty smart. While Nellie would technically be helping herself, it effects Luke because that wouldn’t be the meds he needs, and they are altering HIS brain chemistry, which simulates being high for HIM which could lead to his drug addiction. Where as Nellie was just healing/spiraling later on when she stopped taking them.
Also some medicine used for mental illnesses are extremely addictive (I.e Xanax)
The sheer quality of storytelling in this episode in particular has me questioning every story I’ve ever enjoyed up to this point
I actually guessed she was the bent neck lady a few episodes ago because I read a book with the same sort of storytelling that just traumatised me 😂😭
The story just gets better from here!
@@SissouLoveVideo got the name of the book?
@@davidhunt7454 It's one of the books from the Goosebumps series I read when I was a kid actually, this one was titled "the ghost next door". It's obviously a child/teen book , (sorry if you were searching for a "true" adult horror book ^^') but yes I read it YEARS ago but I still remember it ... that's how much it traumatized me x)
But if you have adult horror books recs with twists like that : I'm interested !
Rizzo being angry that trauma exists in the world is wholesome af and also YES. Love you guys.
I love how (unlike most other reactors) your response to this episode was less "I'm weeping and gaping in heartbroken disbelief" and much more "I'M GONNA FLIP THIS TABLE, MY BLOOD IS BOILING, *FUCK* THIS BULLSHIT HOUSE AND ITS BULLSHIT TRAUMA." :)
This is my favorite comment. I feel so seen 👀
ALSO. This episode ruined me. Her being haunted by her own death will always hit hard. SO EXCITED for you to see episode 6. One of the best episodes of tv ever filmed.
Agreed!!! Episode 6 really inspired me to pay more attention to filmmaking in movies and tv shows.
@@crystalrose_pa yes!!! The cinematography is incredible and the the acting with the long takes is just *chefs kiss*
@@carlyknight2656 Absolutely!! It feels like watching a Shakespearean play. For some reason the vibe specifically reminds me of Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing. Sometimes I go back and just rewatch that episode lol
Just like Theo and the mom are sensitive to the supernatural in some way, it's very possible that Nelly has been having visions of her own death her entire life.
Rizzo saying "what a deal!" to $20 heroin, broooooo 😂
Can’t afford not to get any!
Honestly, when I first watched the show I reacted the exact way Rizzo did. THE SHAME 🤣
it's just so sad that she was haunted by herself her WHOLE LIVE!!!
"That jump scare.. that was probably one of the better ones I've seen"
[smiles endearingly]
😂
OMG the Jurassic Park 3 clip has me cackling here at 5:30 am 😂
So, a thing that took me a couple of rewatches to catch: we realize that Nellie has flu-like symptoms because she's feeling Luke going through withdrawal, but Luke was also able to get finally clean because she dumped her meds in the toilet because she knew it was making Luke crave drugs. She sacrificed the little help she had to deal with her depression to help Luke because she was just so selfless. She deserved all good things in life, I love her so much and I'm still mad about her death but god this show is SO GOOD. It helped me so much to deal with some hard things I was going through.
Damn I totally forgot she dropped her meds because of that, she really is selfless. She was the one that held the family together, her happiness was when the family was the most happiest and together. Her losing her husband then made the family fall, all the bad things start again. They all distanced and her death brings them back together.
@@lady6750 She really was the one that kept them together, reaching out, getting worried, on top of all was she was going through.
When I first watched this show, Theo was my favorite character, but a couple years later, after hitting rock bottom and getting back on my feet, I rewatched it and fell in love with Nellie, but at the same time, I finally understood every character and learn to loved them, with all their flaws. I swear this show has taught me so much.
@@blancaherreroespana5035 that is soo wholesome. I hope you are in a better place now. This show to me is more family drama than horror, it reminded me soo much of my own family. Everyone had their reasons for why they acted the way they did. Steve may be rude, but he has to find logical answers to his crazy childhood or he would have broken down (and he was scared if becoming like his mum). Shirley needed control becuase there wasn't much control in her life. Theo was cold because she had to deal with soo much emotions on a day to day basis. Luke and Nelly the youngest that got it the worst, were also the ones treated the worse by the siblings (not that both didn't do wrong). The father didn't feel like anybody wanted him anymore so he abandoned them.
Rizzo getting mad at the house for 18 minutes straight 😂
This is actually the episode in the whole series that made me question if all or everything happened inside the house were real or in a time loop. Watching this after the premiere because YT literally obliterated everything with error and ads ❤️
This episode destroyed me emotionally. I had to take a break.
I love how supportive you are of characters in gaslight-y situations ❤️
11:51 “That wasn’t Mommy.”
*dun dun DUNNN*
i love rizzo's progressive anger 😭😭😭 there's nowhere to go from here but down actually, i can't wait for y'all to see
I know that therapist had really bad advice, but its not his fault that ghosts were actually real xD
I SAID you guys were gonna be mad you didn't disappoint! Thanks for the reaction!
You guys were traumatized enough with this episode so onto a happier note - did you guys see Bridgerton was already renewed for a third and fourth season?? Super excited!
Oh wow I didn’t know this, hell yea!
Nelly and the Dudley's have the most devastating story in the whole series. The fact that Nelly is the most sympathetic person is what makes it so devastating.
After watching this series and multiple reactions of it, I JUST noticed that Nell's ghost showed up at many traumatic events in her life: When they moved into the house, when her brother asked her to buy him drugs, the night her husband died, and when she decided to return to the house.
When I first watched the show, my dad came into the living room and was perfectly timed for the drop scare. He pretty much shat himself because he had no idea of what I was watching
Rizzo talking about the hallway scare being the best... I’m still waiting for THE scare to happen. Everyone who’s seen Hill House knows which one!
The cup of stars speech is from the original book. Come home Nell is from the book. In the book her name is Elenore Vance, which Nell becomes when she marries Arthur (who was a minor character in the book). The psychiatrist is played by Russ Tamblyn who played Luke in the original movie. His name is Dr. Montague who is a character in the original movie. Nell flushes her meds so that Luke can get clean. When Nell shows up to Luke and Steve she is wearing the same clothes as the last time they saw her.
I am rewatching this, and "i like my horror movies where people do dumb shit, sex in the woods=stabbed by a murderer, not innocent girls trying to play with horses" has me in tears 😂
Laugh tears or sad tears???
Definitely more laugh tears, but maybe a weird mixture of both 😂
It’s been years since my last sleep paralysis episode. I’ve only seen “beings” twice. There was a time when I couldn’t get up because an old lady was pushing me down. It was really terrifying.
I’ve only had true sleep paralysis like once in my life. It happened a few weeks ago, I heard the door to my apartment open and heard footsteps but couldn’t turn my head to the door or move my arms. It only lasted a few seconds but it was terrifying.
Sometimes when I’m like half asleep though I’ll see things that aren’t there, I’ll often see bugs crawling all over the walls and usually have to get up and touch the wall to convince myself that nothing is there. This happens more frequently
I don’t know if it’s sleep paralysis or not, but if I’m drifting sometimes I start to feel like I’m under water. It’s I can’t breathe and I can’t move. It doesn’t last long though. Is that what it’s like for you?
When this series first aired people talked about how this was the scariest thing they watched and I didn’t find it that scary but that body dropping in front of Nell scared the shit out of me lol. Watching it again, knowing it was coming, it scared the shit out of me again 😆
Her neck cracking will always make me feel weird, it's just not a nice sound. The scariest one for me is the car ride scene.
This episode made me cry so much! When she sees her family and sees her husband, and she starts crying. And them they dance.. Me and my mom were crying like babies 😆 It was so emotional to me!
The cup of stars line was from the book The Haunting of Hill House this TV show is loosely (VERY loosely) based on. Nell in that book said that line. Also, something I love about this series is that time is non-linear. It's circular (ie the feedback loop of Nell haunting herself and contributing the destruction of her life as you guys said), it overlaps, and layers upon itself which is so cool (and simultaneously horrible).
i was completely numb for a while after watching this chapter, it's incredibly briliant how the director is not afraid to show grief and pain throught the ghosts and haunting. Watching Nell unraveling and crying for help and the inevitable end. I can't wait for you to see the rest and see how the house works
Actually the first episode that send chills through my body... damn that poor woman! When she was dancing with her husband back at the house?! 😭
Also umm, Benji I need more singing from you! Maybe not with this show... but I LOVE your voice! 😍
Rizzo and Benji spend days filming, editing, and uploading.
Chat: So anyways, who all is from Texas?
Sorry the live premier was messed up, but glad we all got to chat. My final thought: Texas.
ahahaha accurate
3:09 made me laugh so hard😂 That noise is from Barbie Rapunzel! Why do I know that
The Bent Neck Lady bent us
Was fun chatting with everyone tonight. Excited to watch this now!
Benji honey...you're going to have to share your blankie with Rizzo for the next episode. 😖👻😵😨 Your jump scare from the scene at the vending machine was epic! 😂😂😂💖💖💖
I absolutely love how much y'all are just absolutely done with Steve by this point lmao
I love how early you two got it. And I agree the 'trauma for trauma's sake thing' is tired.
I cried when I watched this episode. I'm trying not to cry again now. Amazing how a TV show can really affect your emotions. Also, anyone else notice Nell holding her neck when she was talking to her therapist? I love how this show has so much detail and foreshadowing.
@sweetness371 There is soooo much foreshadowing about Nell's neck hidden throughout the series (especially this episode). All the adult kids waking up at the same moment (the moment of Nell's death), holding their necks. The moment Nell's husband is seized by the aneurysm, he bends his neck at he takes his last look at Nell. And in this ep, there's the scene with young Nell in bed with her parents after being frightened by bent neck lady, and the director very subtly had the scene filmed from Nell's perspective looking up at her parents' faces, with her neck bent. But until your comment, I never noticed her rubbing her neck while talking to her therapist. Thanks for pointing it out!
I love that you mention that the root of all of it is trauma. I have CPTSD myself and have been through actual horrors with other real life people, not really paranormal, but I relate to Nell and Luke the most out of the entire family. They just struck such a chord with me. Also getting into rehab in a few weeks due to my trauma so I feel like this show is so respectful and shows what trauma does to you sooooo well. That's why I prefer hill house over bly manor, it just speaks to me on so many more levels personally.
This episode is one of my favorites. I couldn't handle nell's sadness at all. Victoria was absolutely great ❤️ The reactions were great guys. ✌️
Rizzo never disappoints with his passionate reactions 😂Can't wait for next week! Episode 6 is my personal favorite just because of the unbelievable filmmaking.
Finally you're reaching episode 6!! It's a cinematic masterpiece. Pay attention to the way they filmed it, it's just *chef's kiss *
I LOVED THE REACTION MY FAVORITE PART OF US WAITING FOR THE VIDEO IS THE CHAT 😂😂😂😂
Every one who was here for the premier will get this... Texas
😂
It started because I asked why everyone was from texas, and then texan took control of the chat. Now I know texans love talking about texas.
@@lady6750 I know 🤣 that chat went to all kinds of places
I'll never forget Texas
LMAO
My man was walking through the living room when I was watching this and he literally stopped in his tracks and watched! Then we had to go watch so many more of your videos! Love your editing and content ❤️
I just want nice things for Nell/Dani in season 3, “The Haunted House We All Agree We Have No Business Entering”. It will be one episode.
I don't even watch this show! I just watch your reactions! I love you guys❤
It’s so fucking funny that Benji said that about wanting to confront the ghosts because the first time that I watched episode four, I kept yelling “CONFRONT HIM!” I wanted Luke to throw down with Bowler Hat. 😂😂😂
As a twin (I'm a girl and my twin is a boy), I am disturbed with that question rizzo, please take it back. That seems like a curse. I'll have to pass the question to conjoined twins as they are more likelier to know the answer.
HAHA I seriously had to call my brother and have this conversation, it's nothing we've ever considered before but apparently there's some truth to it (in our experience, anyway).
The therapist is played by Russ Tamblyn, who was in the original film, “The Haunting of Hill House”, but you would probably know him better as Riff from “West Side Story”.
@@balkanarchist ooopsie!
LMAO! You two are HILARIOUS!!! Definitely a fan now!
🥰🥰
I have a legit fear of swallowing my future engagement ring 😂. I’m single right now but it still keeps me up at night.
This whole episode is a sad, but beautifully written trip
Rizzo calling the Bent Neck Lady a "racist ass bitch" with just so much disdain! I FELT that. 6:23😂😂😂
And also you have THE best scared reactions! I must have rewound 13:20 4 times and it just got funnier each time 💀💀 I mean poor Benji didn't even have time to grab his blanket! 😡
Poor Nellie...she just wanted to be heard, believed, and validated and I was so emotional that she never got that before she died (I guess because that is so true to life). 😭
But OMG realizing that Nell was her own spectral was fantastic TV watching. It was so disturbing that she had been witnessing her own death since she was 6!
I dont even know your names guys but your reactions are priceless, best hill house reactions ive seen 😅🙈
TWO STORMS IS NEXT!!! I REPEAT TWO STORMS IS NEXT! I AM NOT READY! Excited to see y'all react to the one shots!
Loving y’all’s reactions, you’re both really funny and I want to be friends with you! What I love about this show is that they presented the most traumatic material in the first episode (Nell dying, back story of mom dying) but as the audience we’re not oriented to the story so we don’t realize the magnitude of the trauma until much later as the story fills in... it delivers a softer blow at first then turns into a sucker punch. In other words, good story telling.
Love the friendship
Love the banter
Love the humour - honestly, I spend most of my time watching your videos actually belly laughing. The two of you have impeccable comic timing
Can I also say how grateful I am that you're prepared to watch Hill House.... I was really intrigued by it but only got to the end of episode one and then "noped" right out of there cause I was too scared but now I get to know what happens with minimal jumping/nightmare fuel! So thank you both!
When Rizzo and Benji are the only cure for the flu :) laughed so much my cough went away XD Love you guys
"dead mother made my wedding. where were you' LoLz!
Sad but brilliant twist!
Sorry the premiere kept crashing, but the chat was fun! 😊 Glad the video is working now
To this day I still wonder why Steven's wife was in Nelly's wedding dream/delusion but Shirley's husband wasn't. Also, yeah, that motel drop is one of the best jump scares ever.
Loved your reaction to this one and your discussion at the end of which position is worse when it comes to the bent neck lady/her haunting. Can't wait for the next episode its my favorite and it's perfection from beginning to end.
I can’t wait till you guys see the next episode! Your minds are gonna be blown!
You guys make going back through this series so much easier. This series is my trauma comfort show. If that makes sense. Kind of falls in the same category of bojack horseman. It doesn’t make me feel *good* but it makes me feel comforted when I’m sad and feels familiar in a way
I admired this episode for the amazing jump scares-actually this whole series. Also love seeing your reactions 😂
This has been my favorite reaction. I love when Rizzo knows that he is in his anger stage of grief and then Benji saying it can't go up since we have more family to kill off. Love the theory as well can't wait to watch the rest of these reactions!
I agree, that jump scare is definitely in top5 best jump scares ever
don’t know if someone has said this yet, but mrs dudley’s “cup of stars” speech comes from the original novel, haunting of hill house. though there are a lot of references to the book in the show, the stories are completely different, and the quote comes from a scene very early in the book, where eleanor (aka nellie!) is in a restaurant alone, watching a family eat at a nearby table. the daughter is refusing to drink her glass of milk, because she only drinks milk from her cup of stars. eleanor thinks to herself that the little girl should insist on her cup of stars, lest she become like everyone else, which introduces her as someone who has been very suppressed by society.
the book is about four people: eleanor, the emotionally repressed implicitly bisexual protagonist who is implied to have some powers of telekinesis; theo, a blunt and sarcastic lesbian artist who can seemingly read minds; luke, the heir to hill house, a “rake” (old timey for manslut), gambler, and cheater; and the paranormal investigator who invited them all there, doctor montague. the final character is the house. the house wants to kill them. it’s actually quite scary, a good read for popstars who like books!
Oh my gosh, I just got it to work. I’m so excited and may still be buffering but I am all for this episode. Such a great live chat. Have fun everyone. Ready for spooky moments.
lol remember what steven said in the first episode: a ghost can be a lot of things--guilt, fear, regret, secrets (and obviously legit ghosts but you can very much interpret them all as metaphors in this show.) that, plus all the girls in the family are some kind of psychic adds up to weird shit
Can confirm as someone who has had sleep paralysis before I have definitely seen a lady with a pale face and no features stare at me like 1 foot away from my face and it’s pure ✨torture✨ I think I only really get sleep paralysis if I don’t get enough sleep like 2 or 3 hours over a couple days.
Your reaction was so pure when you saw the big reveal
Oh my gosh, you guys had me CRACKING UP with your witty commentary. Thank you. So much. Love, love, love! 💕
I love this episode so much, you guys did not disappoint! *evil cackling*
I need a Ghost Ghost spinoff. And the new intro is sooooooo good!
Who else is just on the edge of their seat waiting for that special scene 😂
Having a long week at work and omggg been WAITING for this ep’s reaction!
Love how despite all the technical difficulties: chat still persevered
♥️
The chat was the most fun I had in weeks, some of the best interactions.
Good times. I’m dying at all of the “Texas!” comments on this video now, lol
@@lady6750
I always feel there is a direct correlation between the channel and the type of people it attracts.
@@CsillanRose
Sadly, I was busy, so I was on and off. I missed all the Texas comments. What was that about?
@@themurrrr Someone (actually, I think it might have been Lady Shire above) asked where everyone was from, and there were at least 10 or so people that immediately replied Texas. It devolved into a discussion of Texas in general, and when the guys got back from trying to fix the video, the discussion was just all about Texas and they were confused. Also, it turns out they’re both from Texas, lol.
I think the ghosts are all a representation of what their downfall will be in the future
Absolutely live for your commentary. Thanks for another great reaction!
Yeah, this episode is rough. Love the reaction👍🏾
I love the way you edit, it was a 100% worth it. I love you guys
im so excited to see their reaction to the next episode.
The next ep is my favorite, can’t wait for next week!
Loved the reaction as always, you two make me laugh so hard. I’m so glad I found your channel.
The next episode is my favorite in the series. There is a seventeen minute one-take shot! There’s a video somewhere of Mike Flannigan explaining how it was done. Unbelievable film work. Amazing acting.
I would pretend to be scared and lean into Rizzo's arms so many times if I was watching a horror movie with him. I know he's straight but I can still dream ok?
The titles to your videos have made me chuckle a lot lately lol, keep them up!
The jump scare made Benji drop like 3rd period French 🤣🤣🤣 It's okay boo, you are definitely not alone
Lolol thank you! Or should I say, merci!
These reactions are sooo good!
Love this series-this was the episode that really made me start thinking about what the show was really trying to say. When I think back on it as a whole, the parts I think of are from this episode on...so buckle up.
I was so excited for you guys to react to this one and you guys didn't disappoint. You both are just the best and always make me laugh. Even when this show is making me cry AGAIN and breaking my heart lol. The cinematography in the next episode is on another level.
Plsss when Rizzo was like “what a deal” I cackled 😭😭😭 I honestly thought that drug would be hella expensive😂
Needed this!
I've always wanted to watch this series but I can't do horror, thank you cause now I can watch with you guys and not be so scared!!
Petition for a spin off of the ghost ghost please hahah I love the idea of that one silly ghost who is scared of the others too ahahah
