▶NEW EPISODE EVERY WEDNESDAY
The fact that nellie spent most of her own wake trying to get her family to stop fighting, mixed with the ending cross over of "I was right here the whole time and none of you could see me, nobody could see me" really broke me.
legit it made me feel really bad for her like, even after she's died she's still trying to make sure her family are okay, and that her family would get along together, like when they were kids.
True. That was very sad!
the fact that a lot of this episode was done in one shot is just... phenomenal
Yeah, this whole episode is shot in 3 long takes. Amazes me every time!
There are some videos about how they did it, it's really impressive! The kids weren't fast enough to get out of shot when the camera panned, so people were standing by to just pick them up and run away with them 😅
@@Lannisen that’s hilarious! I kind of wondered how people moved in the production lol still amazing how everyone was acting, not to mention the kids!
@@Lannisen that’s so cute 🥰🥰🥰
The longest take is just under 20 minutes, so everyone had to learn their cues and lines as if it was a stage show, or a choreographed dance. They could only do that take so many times though, so some mistakes they had to live with, like Theo falling off the sofa. If I'm not mistaken that wasn't meant to happen, but they just reacted accordingly and it fit the scene enough for it to stay in.
"I was right here the whole time and none of you could see me, nobody could see me" was the most depressing line i've ever heard in a long time lol
And yet so accurate.
@@nbucwa6621 I see you.
@@LawNerd24 thank you ❤️
The show has the darndest way of making you scared for 59 minutes, and then in that last minute, making you cry your eyes out.
"I'm ready for depression!"
Hill House: You rang?
“i’ve never heard a little kid say ‘jesus christ’” oh boy... i’ve worked at two daycares and a summer camp and i can tell you, little kids will repeat anything they hear.
Luke: a monster tried to eat me in the basement 😨
Mommy: benevolent spirits :)
the end scene in this episode where Nell is saying none of them could see her while it panned to her ghost haunts me. I cry every time I do so much as think about it, it’s so heartbreaking and real.
Doesn't Peter see her ghost?
@@alle2740 at the end I don’t believe any of them can see her. and it’s even more heartbreaking because she spent the entire time that they were all together in the funeral home trying to get them to stop fighting and notice her waiting for them and they never really seem to be able to :/
remember that their mom always called nellie “button” 🙃
Awwww 😞
nellie’s “I MEANT WHAT I SAID BEAR” has the same energy as flora’s “SHHH! 🤫” in bly bly
It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen the last shot of this but when little Nellies voice is playing over the shot of ghost Nell and her dead body... 😭😭😭
The stages of grief in Crane kids:
Denial - Steve
Anger - Shirl
Bargaining - Theo
Depression - Luke
Acceptance - Nellie
I know this comment is 2 yrs old - but it's brilliant. I've never seen this breakdown before.
They built the entire set around this episode.
I hope with everything in my soul that they noticed the long shots. So many reactors just go "oh, this shot is going for some time now". NOOO, YOU HAVE TO BE MIND BLOWN BY THE BRILLIANCE OF THIS CINEMATOGRAPHY!!!!!!!
We definitely noticed, though since I've been paying attention to long shots in some of my favorite TV shows/movies (i.e. "True Detective," "1917," "DareDevil," "Oldboy") for awhile now, my reaction might not have been as BLOWN AWAY as you're hoping since I'm very familiar with the technique - Rizzo 😅
I think what's amazing about single-take shots (when they work well) is that they're invisible and service the story!!!
A couple of the shots made me laugh so hard because I instantly thought of people(actors) running around the room to get into place. It reminded me of the Nathan Fillion blooper during firefly in the episode of his soldier friend being in a coffin and they all circle around each character super slowly and hes on every shot with another character. Hahaha but yeah. Those shots are pretty cool.

@@PinkPopcast even still, the art of the king take never ceases to amaze me, no matter how many times I’ve seen it done
don’t hate the dad! the dad is the best 😭😭
Nell's telling them to stop fighting. She tells them that in different ways.
The "polio ghost" and "Little House on the Hill" were my two favorite things. I laughed too hard at both.
every time i watch the scene where theo falls from the couch i think about the fact that that actress was pregnant at the time and the director(who is also her husband) was thinking of removing that scene just in case something happened 🥺
You forgot the most beautiful detail- they named their daughter Theodora. 😭❤️
You know... I wonder if Nell's comment about no one being able to "see her" applies to the entire family and not just her? Like, obviously it applies to Nell's own struggles, but it also applies to everyone in the family. None of them open up to each other fully, they're all separated by their secrets, and so they can't "see" the true version of their family members. Will have to think on this some...
Great episode as always y'all!
even when she was alive none of them could really “see” her, even after she called all of them before she went to hill house 😔
olivia is not “willfully ignorant” she genuinely does not know that the ghosts and the house are actively harming her family.
Rizzo having to explain to Benji their various reactions and processing 🤣🤣🤣
Haha I don’t have emotions😅 Benji
no matter how many times I watch this episode the monologue always gets me, the fear in the little girl's voice panning out on a ghost of nell
So freaking sad!!
Benji caught Nellie standing behind them so fast!! I was so caught up reading the subtitles that a good minute went by before I saw her there. I had to go back and got so scared, they work these scares very slowly and quietly, it's so effective every time
We’ve been told to watch the background so many times now, if not I might have missed it too lol
@@PinkPopcast I have to say, watching this unprepared would be difficult 😂 also I love the channel!! Kings
Man, if Rizzo's pissed here he might want to also invest in a blanket for the rest of the show. Thanks for the reaction!
Just promise us to hunt the ghosts down after watching the whole series 😂 the more you found them, the more it gives you the creeps of not finding it earlier ❤️
Four takes of 15ish minutes each, with the kids and everything. Ugh, incredible 😍😍
And Mike Flanagan said he would never do it again LOL
My favorite episode, the camera work is just -chefs kiss;
"The wrong parent died!"
"Nobody could see me."
Guys try and share your feelings to in regards to these deep episodes.
There's gotta be more than anger, right?
Though it is wonderful to see you both so speechless after an episode, it makes us think there's too many feelings and you're still processing it.
I feel like that’s hard, after 6 episodes we’ve shared ALOT on our feelings. Sometimes exhaustion really is all we’re feeling. I’m still angry at the house and the trauma and I don’t like repeating myself at the end of each episode. - Rizzo
The futher they get through the series the more pissed off Rizzo gets 😂
The fact that this is one of my comfort series tells you how f*ck*d up I am
I just realized Nellie went full Coraline on us here omg if yall open to new suggestions, CORALINE IS SO GOOD PLS REACT as well xx
Yo Benji is as sharp as a tac. I had to watch the show like 3 times in a row before I notice the ghosts that he sees the first time.
Also, I highly relate to Rizzo way too much this episode with the frustration and...ya know, depression lol.
1:35 "that's not funny Theo." *Rizzo laughing through his depression*
This is def the most heartwrenching episode, Nell trying to make herself seen while everyone fought was horrible. The acting on this one is amazing, showing both times of the family before tragedy and after being torn apart
It's an incredibly well-written episode.
This episode is one of my favorite episodes from the show 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Nobody could see me...
That’s the most heartbreaking reveal overall.
There are more twists and turns, but that last shot was the most devastating fr me of the whole series.
Noo! You guys take my sleep schedule and destroy it. See you 112 minutes later.
yeah this whole first part of this episode with the transitions with older and younger character and rooms/houses is all filmed in 1 massive take.
Benji's reaction to the chandelier falling LOL also Benji's reaction to "that's why I'm single" you guys never disappoint
Nellie needed someone but her siblings couldn’t give a fuck about her and the coralline ghost and getting the ballet ready for the scary parts is so me
It’s not that her siblings didn’t give a fuck about her they were all dealing with their own grief and tried to be there for her in their own ways (some more than others) but no matter what they did they could not have saved her.
When Hugh is looking for Olivia the hall she disappears in was not there. He passes the doorway to the spiral staircase but in other scenes the library is shown to have windows up for three stories.
The best episode in this entire series straight up!!
you HAVE to watch the featurette about making this ep! Like Mike Flanagan is the real deal and this ep is PERFECTION! Can't wait to cry again next week
Those last few seconds of that episode had me in tears. :(
i can't wait for them to find out about the ghosts hidden in every shot...shat myself everytime
Can I say the editing is absolutely brilliant?! All the little clips and pop culture takes are hilarious! When that Little House on the Prairie theme song broke in, I freaking lost it 😂😂
Ah, my favorite episode has arrived! The long takes are amazing, the top notch acting from everyone has me crying, and Theo in the background is a constant mood. I'm loving Benji's Thank U, Next sweater btw!
This episode was shot in four long takes. They stopped production for around 6 months just to rehearse this episode.
After a looooong day at work on 3 hours sleep, I was so ready to be spookled 👻, laugh, and cry (sob) again when Nell says “nobody could see me”
Didn’t disappoint 👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks guys!
benji: it’s weird to not be attracted to him
rizzo: it’s weird that you’re only attracted to _the shitty version of him_
benji: ...guess that’s why i’m single
*i’m in this photo and i don’t like it* 💀
DAMN! Genuine L.O.L. from Rizzo!!!
Benji grabbing that blanket though.
Nell BREAKS me. This is like my 100th rewatch, and just snippets of the episode had me tearing up. Nell's episode and this one just shattered my heart. The ending here is so...Depressing. Her whole life she just wanted someone to be there for her and none of them could do it. OHMAGERD I CANNOT WITH THIS. P.S. "I can see right through you"/*cuts to Mulan slapping the hell out of Mushu* -- PERFECT editing.
Aw man, poor Rizzo and Benji. The look on your faces when the episode ends.....methinks it is taking its toll
It is a single shot. The hill house and the funeral home are connected was actually built like that on purpose just for this episode.
11:07 Bengi pays so much attention to details! I didn’t notice that or when dead Nelli was standing behind everyone😭
This is my absolute favorite episode. The dynamic between the characters/actors, how the story line falls into place, and the entire way it was filmed is just amazing.
One of the best episodes!!!! *chef’s kiss*
THIS FELT TOO SHORT BUT I’M HAPPY FOR THE WEEKLY DOSE OF PINK PODCAST 💞💞💞
I'm so excited for this one. This is the episode that inspired me to go to mortuary school
Me trying to sleep, my TH-cam notifications going of saying that a pink podcast is premiering, never mind no sleep!
Oooo the one shots in this are amazing. This show is just top tier!
I aspire to have as many pop culture references in my back pocket as you guys do
that ending scene RIPS my heart out everytime i watch it 💔
Thank you two for creating my favorite new character Ghost Ghost 👻... I was happy he made even a quick cameo in this episode...
So glad you’re enjoying him as much as we do! He and Casper are the only ghosts we don’t mind haha
Freaky factoid: pay attention to the positions of the heads of the statues in HIll House......they keep turning every time we come back to them and looking at the Cranes!!!!! Took me asecond or third viewing to realize it and i got goosebumps!
Benji actually noticed it once, but we didn’t realize it happened more times, yikes
The boys: Edit funny and cheery memes throughout the video and make it less depressing
Me: "Finally, I can watch this through w/out crying!"
Nell in the last two seconds: "Nobody could see me"
Me: Instantly starts bawling
Hahah yea there’s no saving that part, it’s heart wrenching
You guys are SEVERELY underrated!! I've loved watching you guys react to Hill House and your commentaries - can't wait to see what you guys do in the future!
Thank you!! 😊😊😊
I love this episode! The 2 long uncut scenes had to be extremely hard to shoot having the kids swap out with the adults so quickly when the dad shows up, brilliant 👏🏼
The end of that episode always makes me tear up 🥺
Favorite episode of this show. Just so well done.
The transitions in this episode were the best.
I highly recommend watching the “making of” for this episode. It’s really neat if you like that sort of thing! They basically built the whole sets around making this episode work!
This is my favorite episode of the series!! Loved the reaction!!
Clicked on this so fast just to find out I have to wait some more 😭 Excited for this reaction, this is my favorite episode!
This is such a well done episode. One of my favorites. Only 3 cuts the entire episode. Amazing ❤
I love wathing you guys react to things, you crack me up 😂
I have seen Hill House like 3 times and I never saw Nell at the back of her funeral 😂🤦🏻♀️
The end still makes me cry.
You guys posting is the best part of my Wednesdays! Plus this episode was one of my favourites - so beautifully shot 👏🏼
WE NEED MORE!
Did I have to charge up my headphones just for this, YES yes I did 🤣
Also one of my favorite episodes, it was filmed so good and the beats and chemistry was on point.
Fun fact Most of this episode especially in the funeral home is a single uninterrupted take. Just mostly smooth panning the camera from one scene to the next.
new to this channel and love your style of reacting... yall are funny af but sharp too.
12:45 I can’t get enough of these edits!😂
I’m all started then boom, I laugh!🤣
😟😂
Loved this one and you guys. Also made it to the Patreon!! Happy to support you two! 💛
Thank you so much! We really appreciate you 😊😊
I love the editing that you guys put in to your videos 😍
the ending of e6 always make me SOB
I can’t wait, your videos got me to watch the show and I’ve binged it like 3 times since! I’m obsessed with your reactions. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you my lovelies for bringing some levity to such a heart breaking episode...you two are the best! I really enjoyed this ep when I first watched it, because despite the creepy house and all the haunting stuff, it shows that at its core this is just a family with all the same BS issues most families have. Cant wait for the next reaction
So glad we could make the episode a little easier to get through! Thanks for watching :)
@@PinkPopcast Anytime! I'd hazard to say I might even be able to get through watching The Woman in Black again with you two super stars providing your hilarious commentary. 😍
I love you guys, like literally you both are the best 🖤
I understand the frustration that why didn't the mom beleive the kids when she used to see ghosts herself. But I think that she knew that she was sensitive, so just seeing the ghosts is not alarming to her. She might have thought that the kids are freaked out because they don't understand this power. That's why she says that the people she sees aren't there to hurt them.
It was actually the house that was trying to manipulate everyone, so the mom might not be actually haunted in a similar way to the kids
This episode only has like 4 or 5 takes. The cinematography in this is incredible. So angry they didn't get an award at least for that.
It IS single uninterrupted take, I think it's somewhere around 15 minutes in length? There's a video on how they did it up on youtube, and it's fascinating to watch!
Oooo I love how Benji has on that Thank u, next sweatshirt on again
One of the few shows that actually have (really) good writing, especially character writing.
The banter between you two is so fun! Thanks for sharing your dynamic with us.
Okay so I actually started watching the show starting after the bent neck lady episode... I rewatched all of your guys videos first though. And then started on the new one airing tonight with you, so I only watched the last half of the season and I only watched it during the day time cause I was alone and scared. But I finished it so I could follow along easier. It was really good. Lol I don't normally watch these types of shows but you guys made it so funny.
my fav cap by faaaaaaar is awesomee! love yoy guys
YESSS! Ugh, this made my week! Love you guys
OMG!!! I watched this and followed a few reactors - and I never caught that "ghost" run past the camera... Good eye...
The whole episode was a total of five shots with long continuous shots in ousting the transition between funeral home and Hill House.
what an amazing episode!! thx for the reactions ❤❤❤
