I was using both devices, A5X fro work (waiting on the A5X2) and my rM2 for school. The pro just got me excited to go back to my rM2 as my main device coupled with my nomad for on the go.
My upgrade from rM2 to the pro is out for delivery 🎉 Really exited, hope to receive it tomorrow. The color display and backlight were the main reasons to immediately jump on the bandwagon and order it right away. The increased size was secondary. Still love the rM2, but hope to love this upgrade even more 😀

I have had the RM2 for two year's and I absolutely love it. I just learned of the new RM Pro yesterday and despite its high price I could not throw my money at them fast enough! I got my order in but I am looking at almost a month before it ships. I bought my RM2 because I am a big note taker and I just wanted one device to replace all my different notebooks going forward. The RM2 has been a gamecahnger for me and I am convinced that there is no one better in the digital notebook space then RM. Cant wait for the Pro, it has all of the upgrades I wanted for my RM2 and more!
When I watched the announcement I was expecting Tim Cook to step out. It took so many leads from Apple’s playbook for announcements. It looks great but agree the price is starting to creep up towards the high side. Time will tell if this is a factor or not in sales.
Regards presentation, I thought that too! From the comments I’ve read so far it seems to be a 50/50 split that either it’s too expensive or “quick, take my money!” 😆
I'm excited by this device. I've had the RM2 since soon after they came out. But I'm going to make myself wait at least a month to look at buying this. I want to see what people think and let that excitement wear off.
On a lot of the reviews I have seen there is a lot of flashing of the screen especially when using colour. I think that is a deal breaker for me as I think that would do my head in!
I have two Onyx Devices. I don’t understand the “web of menus” and “customization over customization”. I haven’t seen any option for customization. Since I got my devices I just installed the Kindle app, O’Reilly, Google Play Books and that’s it And the notes app they include is fantastic So the main compelling point for me it would be the new screen technology that Remarkable has and that they enforce a minimal approach. Not sure if that values the premium tag. Kinda feels like paying more and do less
There are so many menus and options to change and play around with, to me it feels too much! Just my honest impression. Don’t get me wrong, they are great devices and if you stick to just using a few apps like you it works a treat. And totally agree that the Notes app is very good (I recorded a video recently where I look into that a bit more). I come from the simplicity of the Scribe and so I don’t need or want the myriad of choices the Android based Onyx Boox devices bring. But for those who like that, then brilliant go for it!
I own a few different devices for note taking, including the RM2. I like the way the software has been updated over the past couple of years, except for the Type folio, which I would prefer be expanded into a more full fledged text editor. Anyway, the Pro sounds like they listened to their customers and then added a few surprises of their own, so I have paid the price of giving it a go. Sounds like you felt the same. I had a reMarkable 1 and immediately signed up for a reMarkable 2 when it was released, I even bought the folio keyboard. However as much as I love my reMarkable 2 I can't bring myself to buy one. I think reMarkale have some really amazing technology, it's just I don't have the needt that they are pitching it at. But, I have to say the new one looks amazing. If I didn't already have a reMarkable 2 I would be torn between which one to buy now.
This device MUST be bought with its marker. I find irritating their selling strategy of separating the prices of tablet and pen to make it seem cheaper when it's absolutely insanely expensive. I HATE when I read a price, then in the basket it's bigger because of items that are mandatory to be able to use that thing. This is the same reason why I never bought a remarkable.
@@mark_kelly No, it isn't! @enzomasci5218: At Remarkable's website it states directly and quite clearly "Marker included". So, nothing to hold you back perhaps? It is still €700 so still not all that cheap....

I never think about battery life when it comes to an E Ink device as they tend to go on for weeks depending, of course, on how much you use them and whether you have wireless connections enabled and use the backlight. At work I have more than 50 people asking me about the R2, most people don't know anything about this device. Imagine next week when I bring the R pro😁.
Really disappointed that there’s no rebate or discount available for anyone that purchased the remarkable in the last 90 days. I literally just bought one not long ago and now this comes out. 3 days after I got my RM2, I accidentally dropped the pen and the eraser broke off.I emailed remarkable support and I didn’t even get the courtesy of a reply email to acknowledge my correspondence. I’m always getting emails about how wonderful the company is and promotional material to buy more products/services. I expected this non response based on the reviews I read about the eraser easily breaking and the company not responding- which in my view is a design fault of the pen. They have an amazing product, but unfortunately I think it’s overpriced - not because the quality overall is not there, but mainly because the support is poor, the communications/information is not transparent (surely they knew the rm3 was about to be launched) and the lack of support for existing customers is non existent (now and historically). They’re happy to take your money, but you’re on your own after that. I’ll be giving it a miss too.
It sounds like you’ve had a tough experience with customer support and communication from the company, and that’s not okay. It’s fair to expect better, especially when you’ve invested in what should be a premium product. The fact that they didn’t even acknowledge your email is disappointing, to say the least.
@@mark_kelly Thanks Mark. I may have spoken too soon. I’m in the process of returning the Rm2 and that was easy enough. It turns out I’m well within the 100 day satisfaction guarantee period (51 days in). I definitely will consider the pro - mostly because it has a backlight and colour - the 2 most important things that in my view were dealbreakers when I started using it. They also include a strap in the folio now to hold your pen in so it doesn’t drop and fall out, which was one of the most (if not all) ways the eraser pen would break according to the reviews and forums. If I do eventually get the RM pro, I’ll certainly be extra careful with the eraser pen. I’ll keep you posted. 😊

I've read that the Supernote has a way to search handwritten notes that the reMarkable does not have yet.

They integrate with dropbox, google drive, one drive. No subscription required! Easy to acces and nearly instant.

The website (which I've just checked) says that the basic marker is included. The Marker Plus is extra.

Not only 2gb of RAM, but its DDR4 instead of DDR3 from the Remarkable 2, so its not just twice as fast, but even more so.
