I don’t know if it’s just me, but when you look at the Amish there’s no smiles, their face looks empty but when you see one that turned to Christ you can see joy in their face! Thank you Lord for their blessings. I would love to get into an ministry to help people come to Christ!!! Watching this has made me cry. Such beautiful people coming out of darkness into the light of the Gospel. Such brave people leaving the traditions of their fathers, but the pull of the Lord Jesus Christ is greater! God bless you all as you continue on your journey through life with the Lord Jesus Christ at the helm! Such a lovely Amish lifestyle working on the land though. The Amish people could have everything if they gave their lives over to the Lord Jesus Christ combined with such a healthy lifestyle working on the land. I, for one, would love to have a holiday working on their farms. I will pray for those Amish people who want to leave the traditions of their fathers. I’ve enjoyed this series and the joy of seeing Polly and her husband so very happy!

I know the Hutterite German is different, as the Hutterites had emigrated to Russia and had various influences to their German dialect. But I have never come across any information on if the two dialects can be understood by both groups.

Fascinating fact, the only religious group who refused to participate in both world wars and many other wars around the globe, and jailed for it, were JWs.

@@janrees4887 Amish teach salvation by works. And the works that they MUST do are determined by which Amish sect they belong to. That is why there was talk of splits and divisions of Amish churches in the video. What they are missing is the GIFT of salvation freely given to every person who comes in faith to Jesus. The Amish miss the simple truth that a place in heaven can never be earned, but is freely available to all through faith in Jesus. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

@@jesusistheonlywaytothefath9020 that is not correct. The Catholic Church is the Church Christ founded and like most places it is composed of sinners. It does not contain error in the deposit of the faith, even if there are people who misrepresent or who received a compromised version of what the Church actually teaches. He who seeks finds. You can get to heaven without having direct knowledge of Jesus, through no fault of your own. The surest arc of salvation, however, is the One True Catholic and Apostolic Church of Rome.

To us outsiders, Amish culture looks extreme, having lived and experienced quote a 'normal life' the Amish looks pure in comparison; It is "another worldly" lifestyle that it makes me envious, having great admiration for their culture regardless of their frailties, I went to visit Arthur, Illinois, Shipshewena, Indiana, just by driving through their communities you feel this peaceful aura about the place you are hit a strong feeling of a world gone by. Interacting with them up close, you can feel a peaceful pure aura that radiates, it is hard to explain. I love the Amish people regardless of their quirks. Yes I want them to be bible believing Christians, but still remain Amish in their culture.

Oh my sister, you are right, we are to keep the commandments of God (Revelation 12:17,14:12,22:14). The only thing is that the calendar used today is a pagan Roman Catholic calendar. The Bible says that the Creator ordered the days from evening to evening, not from midnight to midnight. The days begin at sunset and end at sunset; read the first and second chapters of Genesis. The Sabbath begins at sunset on the 6th day (called Friday evening), and ends at sunset the seventh day (called Saturday evening). We are not to do our own thing, we are to spend the 24 hour day with our Creator/Savior/King reading/studying, worshiping, praying. It’s okay to save life on the Sabbath because the Master said so. We are not to kindle heat (except for warmth; it’s okay to run your heating system. It means that we are to eat our food without reheating it). We are to prepare our food on the 6th day, it’s called preparation day in the Bible.

This is amazingly interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like their religion is based on fear, not love and forgiveness. Exactly like in the time of Jesus. If you breathe wrong you go to hell, if you eat wrong you go to hell, and so on and so forth. What is more amazing is that they don't denounce God but show a longing to be with Him and learn more about Him.
