I really like that cargo loading arm. I really wish the Caterpillar had something better for loading and unloading.. Currently it feels like I have to set stuff down on the ground then have someone else move it with the ship or pick it up and load it my self after the ship tractor beam brings it closer. If you try to load it with just the beam you cant really see what your doing and with no good way to load the new mech into the cat it feels like a bit more table then its worth to run without a full crew.
Thanks for the video, as always, Olli! I have to say my first impression is the Zeus looks a little ... small ... on the inside. Running up the Zeus in the XL Hanger really starts to give a sense of the scale of things in Star Citizen. It starts out as a tiny spec, then you get to the ship and switch to 3rd person and the entire thing is above your head.

one little awesome update on the ES/CL/MR would be if the screens where tilted a little bit towards the pilot, that would make alot of sence to have it like that way, not alot just like tiny bit oun the side furthest away from the pilot mor inline with the pilots head/eyes. on each side. I love the concept of the game but it has such frivolous art that it breaks my immersion, the ships have impressive aerodynamic shapes when they float in the atmosphere as if they were a helium balloon without gravity, beautiful lights everywhere, full of unnecessary aesthetics and "light-energy" expenses in a more realistic situation, lights on the floor... inside the engines... outside on the roof lighting up the spoilers... wtf The game is about looking good, they look like tourist ships, a shame :/
That is a pretty cool ship! I have given StarCitezen so much shit because of how its been, but lately, they seem to be getting their shit together. The game is running far better. The mechanics are working as intended. They have a lot to do in the world other than just cargo missions. Its really starting to turn into a cool game! I just wish the floor turret would slave to the pilot when alone. Like the reliant. But then again those size 4s have a LOT of ammo, so it’s still not lacking.
The impression I get from the many videos is that this is beautiful ship that is lovely to be inside and fly around in but...after you get out of the honeymoon period and start using it for real work, it is not actually as useful as you would hope. Firstly the CL. It will technically carry 128scu but, unless you pay for autoloading, it is nightmare to get that much cargo in. The first 64 goes in easily but then you are down to trying to slide 1scu and 2scu and 4scu crates into spaces barely wide enough for a 1scu crate. When complete, the rear is totally blocked like a brick wall and is actually wider than the width of the door so you will be trying to put crates in and move them sideways. This makes it very hard to load and even harder to unload as there is no wriggle room at all. Most people are going to end up carrying less than 128scu because it is not worth the time taken to load 22 crates (56 crates if you want to do it faster). Meanwhile you can put 96scu in a faster & more agile Spirit C1 with 3 crates, or 6 if your destination wont take 32scu crates. Secondly the ES is equally beautiful but what can it do better than its completion with its 32scu of cargo and not terribly impressive firepower? It is almost as pointless as the 400i except that the 400i carries a bit more cargo and has two turrets. I thought maybe it might replace my Corsair but then I would lose the ability to carry an Ursa or 72scu of cargo and it is only marginally faster or agile except in Roll. I love the Zeus ladder and Airlock but the Corsair also has an airlock plus that elevator to the roof. Maybe later it will benefit from a better scanning suite though. I want to buy a Zeus but I am struggling to justify it. Perhaps it can replace my MSR if I still have a Corsair to carry an Ursa as the MSR is now also very difficult to get fully loaded.
For me, it fills the role the Freelancer had, or the role I wish the Terrapin could have had. Durable, single-crewman-capable daily driver. It's not going to beat fighters in pvp, its not going to net you the higher value bounties, but its going to let you do cargo, ground missions and low to mid risk bounties and other non-specific missions. Ultimately I'll want to cruise around in a low-crew requirement carrier of some sort so I can sortie in a fighter for bounties while using the carrier as a mobile base, but the Zeus has just enough to be worthwhile using, with a design that somehow feels comfier than the 400i and shields for days. 4 medium shields and 2 size 4 pewpews is nothing to sneeze at, after all.
Landing struts on such vessels should appear to have sufficient cross-section to support the ship's mass, at least at Earth's gravitational value. Moreover, it is usually preferable for landing feet to have an engineering safety factor greater than needed for safe landings on Earth, as other locations may have significantly different gravity values. One thing that annoys me is that the source material on Star Wars' TIE fighters states, "The fighter is structurally capable of sitting on its wings." My automatic question is then, "Oh yeah?" In what range of gravity values, with what atmospheric pressure range, and with how much wind shear? There are many fire extinguishers because the law requires it. Additionally, in real life, it would be necessary to specify the types of atmospheres, gravity values, pressures, etc., under which the fire extinguisher is meant to be used, and what kinds of fires can and cannot be extinguished. Different types of fire extinguishers are needed depending on the type of fire encountered. That’s not a bridge; that’s a cockpit. Only larger vessels have bridges.

Am i the only one that even tho the Zeuz MK2 looks fantastic, i would've liked if we could also purchase the MK1, i really like the more classic style of ships
That comment about having the ladder on the side really messed with me. I feel like them not having done that is such a wasted opportunity. Both for saving internal space and for aesthetics.
The Zeus is a mini carrack for those like me that will play mostly solo, I've been kind of bummed out ever since it was made clear you cannot solo the carrack. I might think about selling the carrack and getting this instead.
It's a nice little shuttle, but it's obviously just another small ship pumped out to pad the store with "new" ships and drive sales. CIG really need to stat working their backlog.
i know, presenting this ship in that way too big hangar is misleading but this is a medium size ship. one of the biggest you will be able to fly solo, without much trouble. if you want a small shuttle, have a look at the Pisces.
Wow! Another ship! lol I remember in 2.6 when they said they were going to stop making new ships and focus on completion. That was almost a decade ago. Maybe they'll add a new feature in a few years.
3:31 We call them "shoilets"... shower and toilet. NO the toilet is not the shower, just simply a toilet inside the shower area like older RVs used to do.
One thing I noticed is that we lost the big weapon slot in the CL's weapon rack. That's a big minus in my opinion. Its so great to have dedicated slot for bigger weapons like rail guns and missile launchers in the actual weapon rack. Also its a kind of bummer the weapons rack is in the cargo space. Kind of scary to think about the boarding action with this ship when ppl come in from the back and all your bigger weapons are all the way back there. At the moment its not a problem since you can fly the ship with the back pack and huge ass LMG and sniper rifles on it. But in future they might limit that possibility, so you actually need to place your long guns in the rack every time you hop into pilot/copilot's seat. Also you forgot to show us the ladder game play in this ship.
@@K3S01L2 one less shield and only half the fuel. maybe weaker radar/scanners, thats not clear yet. i go for the MR variant whenever they want to add bounty hunting. for cargo, the freelancer max is still more practical.
@@FalconDS9 Ya I take MR too, but its not coming out yet so for now I ho with the cargo variant and melt it for the MR when time comes. Even though that exploration version has more shields and radars etc. It still has same firepower. So its not that much better in combat. And that ship is for me medium daily driver. Small one is 325 and bigger one is connie.

Also you forgot to show us the ladder game play in this ship.
dude.. that weapon rack is not realy for weapons.. its for the tractor beams.. and its a secondary rack, you still have the one in the cockpit.
@@FalconDS9 Okay, then I definitely take cargo variant at this point.
The suitlocker doors look like tigerclaw 😂
It's Olli's ship, of course it is going to catch fire. 😆
Who doesn't like sturdy feet?
Wait....
That sounded way weirder than intended... 😅😂
(Can't wait to be able to fly my ES)
the holographic hud is nice aesthetically but it also makes it look blurry, even on native res
I need 3.24.2 to be live, like yesterday
This is what I wanted the Freelancer DUR to be. The DUR is still fine, but the living quarters is spartan to a sheer a no go for exploration purposes.
"single tap, this is great" is absolutely hilarious to hear a (assumedly) Brit geeking out about in a digital space ship.
