IIRC that is the intended plan. The Hull series isn't supposed to be able to fly in atmosphere while extended, which is that the MPUV-Cargo is for. Hull series is the equivalent of container ships IRL. They move stupid amounts of cargo from port to port, then leave it to small trucks to move the cargo from port to destination. Space loading would be a great solo gameplay loop. I envision space loaders with high tech pallet jacks zooming around the station with cargo getting paid uec to load/unload the cargo. This concept could help bring the stations to life.
Btw, if you're going to do a special tour of the Hull-C, or any ship, it's easier for viewers to get the scale of the ship if your camera is in third person view so we have a person for comparison.
The cargo loading zones should have multiple tether or docking hard points for collection/drop off IMO. The zones coulkd either be accessible by elevators (but can't spawn ships there, need assigned a loading bay), or they're like little self contained industrial sections. The box to hover in looks crap. Filling a super large ship could take 20 minutes at that rate, unless you can pay extra for more loaders to speed it alone, perhaps being able log out/in while it takes places, or do something else in the mean time at least would be cool.
For the "cargo box" in sapace solution (if they want to go this route) create a "parking overlay" view mode you can toggle where it will show said box in view. Like a green and black mono type deal hud, or part of the hud. and allow an companion interface display on one of the in ship screens that shows your ship relative to the kardinal directions of the cargo box you are approaching with a little blink indicator on the directions if you meet the criteria for being "parked" in the cargo zone. Mayhaps even allowing you to "focus" on said display and use it as a mini game like thing to preform precise manures with some buttons on the side of the display terminating relative velocity if you are in said mode and close enough to the mark to do so.
I wish there were planetside structures where the Hull C could dock and drop off or pick up cargo - it’d be cool to have SRV assist in leaving atmo quicker when it’s fully loaded
Definitely should be loading towers at major cities or industrial sites. Kind of like the towers for zeppelins in the 30s. Could be balanced by requiring a tow ship to bring the loaded cargo ship back to space. The tower itself could also have a tractor turret to hold the ship in place while loading.
I hope they will stay true to the plan and not have large ships with such bulk able to land in atmosphere. Rather have orbital ferries that will transfer from orbit to planet for a fee. Can even be player controlled.
One thing I noticed is when in quantum flight. If you walk over the bridge connecting the two halves when it is extended. There is a spot where you do not register as being on the ship and you get yeeted out into deep space
I’ve had this problem on elevators in both the Reclaimer and C2. The problem is that if you rage quit, when you try loading back in the game doesn’t know where to place your character. It doesn’t know if it should load you into the elevator or into deep space so then you just end up with an infinite loading screen…

I've been watching Star Citizens video for years (because I have no desire to pay to be a beta tester), and one of the interesting point for me was this notion of being able to become a space privateer. Now that Starfield is out though, that itch has been scratched. Especially since it's not forced multiplayer (which I typically dislike in a game, preferring a solo immersive experience). Also looking at the features both games provide, you can't help but see similarities. the reason this doesn't make the caterpillar irrelevant is that it can't land planetside with cargo. These types of ships go between stations, and then if any of that bulk cargo needs to go down to the surface or some of it needs to go somewhere else, a caterpillar or something similar does that. And presumably there will be planets with no space stations in places like Pyro, which is where the caterpillar is probably going to shine.
What a fiasco this ship has been, it still does not undock properly. You can work around it by storing a smaller ship on a pad, getting your Hull C out, then flying to it with the small ship and EVAing into it. Starting to make some money on it but lost millions initially. Cargo can cost millions and it is woefully armed to defend itself and extremely slow out of QT.

Maybe there's several of you, and the fighters shoot off the other 3 repair crew, but you're the hero, successfully re-engaging the shield projector and being declared a hero by the princess on board the ship. Cannot wait to see my Hull-E :) Hull-C is tiny....even against a Hull-D. Back in the day the jump of hauling capacity started being crazy from C to D and absolutely crazy again from C or D to E.
You can barely catch it in the video at 24:43, but the first time you loaded up, you got 4609 out of 4608. Others have reported this issue, and if you see that, they won't load up the ship with cargo.
This was one of the first ships I wanted many years ago... then I saw the Hull E!! Holy smokes that thing will be something else.. But this opening up is spectacular.... The interior on this ship has more detail than most games have period, It's like a level in itself. And it's so good to see Star Citizen finally at a point where it's playable again, here's to hoping things speed along better now SQ 42 is feature complete, it's been a long and very bumpy road.

im personally a tad bit more excited for the hull b and e since i have become my org's designated cargo logistician since i own 2 hull c's and one of each other in the series and i can only imagine how big the D and E are going to be even compared to this behemoth, and for personal use i think the B is the perfect sweet spot, being able to carry so much more than the A and still being able to land while fully laden is going to be really nice for systems like pyro where you may not have the luxury of a safe station whenever you need one
At one time I remember they were saying that they would have an app that would work like the stock market for in game investments. Did they ever do that? I'm still not playing yet. I've got to have more computer before I get in. Anyway the app was supposed to show you the "buy" and "sell" price at the different places that could do that. That way if you knew what you were doing you could buy at the cheap place and then move it across the (SC) universe and sell to the place paying highest, and you make .005 on the dollar...or whatever. THAT appealed to me instantly...but I haven't seen that it yet.
Im wandering if those cargo pads can carry snub fighters, and act as a sort of guerilla carrier like how the Caterpiller can fit the Fury in its cargo bays. Cant wait to see its applications
I bought the fricking Hull E in 2016 at full price. I don't know what I was thinking putting that on my credit card....but that thing better be worth the credits and the wait. I'm hoping that this is an indicator for things to come.
Now just think. The Hull series goes from A to E. The E series is multiple times larger than this ship. Just the front section is like, 4x bigger. Unfortunately for the size of the ship, with it being -technically- the largest ship in the game, it has a really small interior.
Ill have to be honest with you the Hull-C can only sell at stations at this time so you would get half the Ammount of profit made from flying to planets Capital cittys and sell there i mean it could maybe happen one day that we get Shipping station´s/ Cargo stations, where you can buy and sell, becouse we allreaddy have one flying around Daymar, but the Kraken its self would make more profit even tho it 1000 scu of cargo space less then the Hull-C, it would gather more profit since the Kraken can land on Planetarry Surfaces so i actuly see it as Unefficient later in the Game when oher ships Join the game with more Cargo space maybe.
I reckon that blast door / window in the crew quarters looks out at the cargo spindles when they’re extended. Also you missed exploring a few other small parts of the ship, could understand if it was due to your game glitching though ;)
Looks like a gigantic bus lol all Misc ships does lol And this is literally the first ship i seen on here where the pilot chair and the captain chair is in the right place. All the larger Origin ships should have that as well.
This is awesome been looking forward to this ship significantly - BUT that blue box is horrendous, illogical and view obstructing. Its also quite unpleasant on the eyes.. >_> here's my idea - why not like a parking with nose touch on a soft physical extension thingie and floating parking lights signaling the area dimensions isntead. Like those space station runways no one is using ?? - then full halt - approve loading - 10s of drones bringing out the cargo slowly for the visuals - reflex covered cargo extension nose touch thingie retracts when done and off you can go. Also the immediate "you have 10 mins to pickup your crap" seems very very demanding and therefore feels rushed - and not to mention the immediate vehicle impounding after loading... like what if im afk cause i have to wait that long, it should be possible to be parked for a bit after loading. a 2:00 minute countdown before i have to start moving perhaps? Also on that note - when diving down into cities or being in front of parking areas - if theres no immediate danger cause a ship is spawning in the bay - then why not use an unrisky warning for a bit before the impounding countdown happens. my point being, you have to immediately pull up and leave the area youve dived down into/parked in front of. and it might get you to crash instead of safely navigating away from said sudden danger area. and a short note on the extending of the cargo holding areas .. it looks so awesome yes, but why are they so limited ? the sheer amount of goods is very large .. so we certainly dont need more, but if you used the leftover surrounding space you could add 50% more cargo easily without making the area it occupies larger. so why in a lean/long cross configuration? The lower cross beam could easily be distributed across the sides towards the top AND you'd be able to land with the ship near outposts on flat areas AND it wouldnt mess up og over saturate the already impressive load capabilities.. theres prob very few flat and large enough places to land this in an unfolded state, agreed - but still how about for maneuvering near a space station - it'd make it easier to fly without hitting something i bet. The question really is - why is it extending so far if if could be more compressed and hold the same cargo amount? ^^ just my thoughts.
The airlock and spine don't have atmosphere or gravity outside of the plating on the ground. I really hope they don't change it just to keep watching you fall.
Couple of questions.. how is it extended in atmosphere ? What's keeping the front up? Would there be regulations for extending a massive cargo vessel in atmosphere unless you're meant to be able to transfer or load it near surface without landing then somehow trust back up to orbit (seems.. silly) Would it be better to have full animation of support staff/craft loading such a cargo vessel when parked in the correct area rather than automagic animations? If so why do you need to go into the station at all? That super extendo section kinda looks interesting for packing in other characters that could all pop out quick then jump back in at least in space in the event of very quick piratical activities.
The Captain seat should present a map so you can pinpoint where you wanna go and show cameras to the deposit and mechanicals so you can see whats going on, with schematics on how loaded the ship is
GOtta say this was super cool! would love it if during cargo transfer it didnt just "appear" but there were small drone ships or something bringing it all down and attaching it
they should make the engineer capable of hastily repairing damage to a ship in a pirate or pvp attack, in the engine room and with a tool, be good if a count down till destruction so the escape pods are actually useful. irl heat (melting) would be how you defeat enemies so you don't send supersonic shrapnel everywhere

And presumably there will be planets with no space stations in places like Pyro, which is where the caterpillar is probably going to shine.
Caterpillar is still cool AF no matter what. Detachable command pod, exchangeable modules
1:48 Olli's tryout for the Trapaholics Mixtapes??
There should be high privileged, high payout missions for salvaging ships within armistice zones. It would take a bunch of rep to earn them, and if the privilege was misused, it would be taken away.
Yeah, that's what we're hoping for. Everything is so damn barebones right now.
They just need NPC ships doing it.
@@Anubis78250 From what I heard, and you know... EVENTUALLY, and all that... they want salvage missions to populate dynamically from existing wrecks; which can be picked up by NPCs or players alike.
You know, some day. Maybe. Hopefully.
or salvage missions where a pirate is likely to intercept you, you can have people escort you and they cam join from any server but their fee would be taken from your cut
@@tturi2 right, I forgot the mandatory “and then maybe you get pirated” and the ever present “just hire escort bro”
I'm exited for when I can reach the PTU
excited* :)
@StrongBoi765 thanks, english is not my main language
@@galece np, happy to help :) also same btw ;)
30:00 the future of trucking simulators, but in space.
Nice.
I ordered me an Acer Predator, and I am looking forward so much to playing this game!! Never seen anything like it and your commenting voice is badass!
The labeled 'pods' by the airlock are armor/suit storage.
I'm pretty sure that balcony you were on is not really a balcony. I think its for repair crew to access the outside of the ship whilst in space, so they can go on a spacewalk with magnetised boots to fix the shield projector from the outside of the ship whilst you're being chased by a squad of small fighters. Maybe there's several of you, and the fighters shoot off the other 3 repair crew, but you're the hero, successfully re-engaging the shield projector and being declared a hero by the princess on board the ship.
Yes this was a Phantom Menace reference
It's so impractical for a solo like me, but I expect I'll still fly it.
I have a ten year CD that I just cashed out, I bought it two years after Star Citizen went into development. >.o
Hull-C was stillborn. It's in game, but completely broken and pointless.
Clicked on the video before the thumbnail loaded that's how intrigued I was
Lol, the irony of Olli flying a ship shaped like THAT and asking... "Is it in? I don't know if i'm in...." @28:47
Damit fold your cargo platforms if they are empty before blasting through the atmosphere I can't believe that they are still not ripped off
Imagine having this ship and CIG had xenomorph like creatures. "Proper" amount of creepy would be had.
Pirates raiding that ship would be proper fun too with a full crew.
@@flagondragon1854 full defense and attack! No ship killing. 100% yes
@christopherwells4253 yeah trying to board it to steal the cargo and maybe even the ship itself to add to the pirate fleet
To bad you can't "add" a ship you capture to an actual fleet permanently. Like buying does.
@@christopherwells4253 RIP they should add that feature. Make a black Market where you can take ships to illegally register them into your name
14:48 man, they really made an intentional design choice with the ship outline for the HUD.....
Well, it is the biggest ship...
WOAH! Look at the detail! Disregard the clipping at 22:40. Good to see we're focusing on aesthetics > gameplay. Back to battlebit!
so I havent watched the video yet but.. the title got me thinking.. they add a massive ship, but still havent fixed and launched the game. They are still SO FAR from being ready to launch.. its absolutely disgusting
olli the thing you thought was escape pod at first, must be locker for EVA suit, after all it is docking collar. ship is really nice, now just need same work on freelancer series at some point. then BMM and Perseus
The little cubbies labelled "captian" "pilot" "engineer" are suit lockers for EVA. It's why they're in the airlock.
4.34 the ship outline made me chuckle like an immature kid.😂
new star citizen player here ( started 2 weeks ago ) the ship looks wild af. great attention to detail imo.
Welcome to the verse :)
loving game?
You should've plummeted like a rock and crashed in an atomic fireball on Microtek when you flew down there fully loaded and not even in VTOL mode. I guess CIG hasn't got weight, gravity and thrust figured out yet.
Whats great about Star Citizen is that you can walk up to any random warning sticker on ship or surface, and read it in absolute clarity.
Whats bad about Star Citizen is that you can walk up to any random warning sticker on ship or surface, and read it in absolute clarity.
In settings there is a mouse acceleration option if you ever want to be a bit more cinimatic while you're just looking around.
im personally a tad bit more excited for the hull b and e since i have become my org's designated cargo logistician since i own 2 hull c's and one of each other in the series and i can only imagine how big the D and E are going to be even compared to this behemoth, and for personal use i think the B is the perfect sweet spot, being able to carry so much more than the A and still being able to land while fully laden is going to be really nice for systems like pyro where you may not have the luxury of a safe station whenever you need one
bro, when the Hill-E comes in , thats going to be SO MUCH BIGGER JESUS
Liked the foreshadowing "Feels like flying something big"
At one time I remember they were saying that they would have an app that would work like the stock market for in game investments. Did they ever do that? I'm still not playing yet. I've got to have more computer before I get in. Anyway the app was supposed to show you the "buy" and "sell" price at the different places that could do that. That way if you knew what you were doing you could buy at the cheap place and then move it across the (SC) universe and sell to the place paying highest, and you make .005 on the dollar...or whatever. THAT appealed to me instantly...but I haven't seen that it yet.
Yeah the Hull C was worth the wait. Looks awesome. It also makes sense that you can't land it when you have the cargo racks out.
Glad you like the ship! That'll be $3,500.00 USD please! 😂
It's videos like this that make me yearn for the day you can paint and customize your ships.
Might as well have a neon sign that says "Pirates rob me please" The hull series sounds great but it's cargo being exposed scares me.
Props to CIG, I have to admit they did an amazing job on the Hull C
It's the 'Dammnn' for me at 1:45 xD Sounds like the dude from the ford commercials
With cargo loading it would be cool if they use a little tractorbeam ships stransporting the boxes
The hull c has multiple tractor beam stations on board for this
Now just think.
Man, the ship reminds me of watching Deep Space... Number something something
I've had that UI for months in the states. Might have even been as far back as 3.17. I was surprised you did not.
same bro, had literally no fucking clue what he was going on about
Maaaan I can't wait for the day this game doesn't run like garbage. Can't wait to play in more than 8 FPS.
After getting fed up with my reclaimer I think I’ve already found an amazing replacement
Looks like a gigantic bus lol all Misc ships does lol
And this is literally the first ship i seen on here where the pilot chair and the captain chair is in the right place. All the larger Origin ships should have that as well.
''I've been waiting for this in star citizen for quite some time'' is the most ironic phrase ever
I don’t want more ships, I want a optimized game 😅
Buy a 1000$ pc
@@GamingaccOunt-rk2yz i have it… but my game runs at 30 fps
''i don't want it to launch me in the ground'' the escape pod feauture is at least 5 years away with how slow the devs are
You can copy/paste your custom keybinds from the Live folder to the PTU one to make it easy, instead of re-programming all of your keys!
1:48 bro said that damn with pure lust for that ship
The airlock and spine don't have atmosphere or gravity outside of the plating on the ground. I really hope they don't change it just to keep watching you fall.
Couple of questions.. how is it extended in atmosphere ? What's keeping the front up?
Would there be regulations for extending a massive cargo vessel in atmosphere unless you're meant to be able to transfer or load it near surface without landing then somehow trust back up to orbit (seems.. silly)
Would it be better to have full animation of support staff/craft loading such a cargo vessel when parked in the correct area rather than automagic animations? If so why do you need to go into the station at all?
That super extendo section kinda looks interesting for packing in other characters that could all pop out quick then jump back in at least in space in the event of very quick piratical activities.
The Captain seat should present a map so you can pinpoint where you wanna go and show cameras to the deposit and mechanicals so you can see whats going on, with schematics on how loaded the ship is
GOtta say this was super cool! would love it if during cargo transfer it didnt just "appear" but there were small drone ships or something bringing it all down and attaching it
4:33 im proud to say i laughed at exactly the same time on that one 😂😂
1:39 “Oh my word! That is quite the behind!”
What you meant to say was, “Baby got back!”
they should make the engineer capable of hastily repairing damage to a ship in a pirate or pvp attack, in the engine room and with a tool, be good if a count down till destruction so the escape pods are actually useful.
irl heat (melting) would be how you defeat enemies so you don't send supersonic shrapnel everywhere
I thought that UI for the ship marker was already there before patch
