Guy in my local shop showed me this on a sig 2022 I think. When my initial score turned out 98 he couldn't believe a 25 year old kid did better then him. It turned into a friendly competition and he lost 3 times. He asked me how I was as good as I was compared to his 78-82 and laughed and told him I dry fire practice with double action revolvers and double action only on my berreta 92. He busted out a 92 and my scores dropped to around 85 to 92 and a lot slower, he tried it and he dropped to 62-84. Needless to say I bought the mantis and a sig 2022 after our contest. Made him a little more happy since I just spent close to a grand in his shop.

I got the x3 , I trained with it for a few weeks in between idpa matches, my average total points down for matches was 30-40, the match after training was only 6 points down
The guided courses in the app are fun and they keep adding more

I’ve had my X10 for about 3 weeks. I’m still learning how to fully use it.
I will say that to get the full benefit from this device, you have to treat this training as if you are at the range with a very astute instructor. I get physically tired after about 100-200 “ rounds “ in a session.
Dry fire scores have grown into low 90s but my live fire is still in the mid 70s. I’ve got work to do.
Overall I’m very pleased with Mantis. I’ve ordered the Laser Academy and will pair the X10 and the Laser Academy to see how they work together.

I want to hear your results when you do - Right now, I'm under the impression that it's going to be a choice between "Am I gonna be using the laser academy, or the X10 this session?", but I have nothing but guesswork and knowledge of how iPhone apps work to base that idea on. (From a programmer's perspective, it ain't easy to have two separate apps actively doing their thing at the same time on an iPhone/iPad, but it's not impossible - just difficult, to put it mildly)

I used the mag rail attachment for my 43X and it works great! They also sell "blanks" that go in your magazine to keep the mag from locking open every time you cycle the weapon. They really have though of everything. I would highly recommend getting a flashlight holster if you plan on using it in a rail mount configuration.

To really test one's skill, just standing there and dry fire to a static target under controlled circumstances just isn't realistic for what this is really best for after one learns the fundamentals ==> Unless one wants to just feel good about getting "above 90%" to make themselves feel good about how they good they are standing still, target stationery, make 100% you're aiming at the 0.025mm spot you're intending to hit, breathe out and then pull the trigger on a controlled exhale...That's how most of us train in the restrictive indoor ranges. I know I did. ===> And I "thought" I was a pretty accurate shooter. Well, the Mantis X10 Elite proved how amazingly pathetic I was in a "stress drill!" It's really a game-changer, especially holster-dry-firing-reholster. Highly recommend! Great vid!

I have an older Mantis system but never used it too much. But I found out they have a trade-in program where you send in your older model and get a reduced price on an upgrade. Now that I finally found a new job, I plan to do that and get the X10.
I think the X10 is actually a tiny bit smaller than the older model I have, because the rail on my Walther PPS is total garbage and the older Mantis doesn't fit very well on it and I really have to jam it on there.
Ultimately, the Mantis system is really impressive and has a ton of features. It might look complicated but it's not hard to get started. Just take your time with it and there's help available to explain the things that you might not understand.

The gen 2 Mantis units (X2, X3, X7, X8, and X10) are about half the size and weight of the original and have much better data rates and battery life. They also have a quick attach system designed to mount to your standard Picatinny or Weaver-style rails.

Our situation since last year 2020 has changed from personal self-defense against crime related individual threats to having defend against armed hostile mobs driven by outside interests. We face what is termed militarily intermediate force opposition. So our mindset needs to change. My suggestion is use of a 22 LR (if you can get).... why is practically in a city or your house the likelihood of over penetration is reduced. Yet the effectivity is not really effected, 40 ft/lbs of energy is adequate in military terms to kill or stop aggressive action with penetrating projectiles... this goes up somewhat with advanced intermediate force weapons which do not penetrate the body. Civilians in America struggle with modern legal system when confronted by a self defense event, normally. The current situation is not as it as been before.
Currently, we must plan for rioters throwing fire bombs or rocks or beating with clubs etc. all are deadly weapons or extremely injurious... with occasional lethally armed threats, but public thinks these are superficial threats... they are not. Some intermediate solution needs to be available. From a traditional legal analysis lethal force defense is justified, but juries are people who make decisions from their own experience in life. And, we are not facing individual crime tactical defenses, here. The experience of our civilization is the American legal system does not function to find the truth, it is based on balance of the facts and applicable law, and the issuance of its judgements is in finality, without recourse. Riotous mobs are in our law are not homogeneous and equally responsible, they are legally judged from the stand point of each individual's action and intent. But now is no longer the fear of a single individual as in a a criminal or occasional mass shooter... you have to plan defense around a more likely scenario of a hostile mob, which is acting with coordinated command and control. However, any defensive action take will be adjudicated from the basis of uncoordinated individual assault, so you would have to justify your actions in court as to each individual, without the defense of it being a hostile mob acting in united intent mentality, or that such was directed with unitary purpose. Defending your house and family inside against such hostile mob, does have a reasonable option open, that is legally feasible in our society and the legal situation as it exists in America.
The Swiss situation has some similarity during WW2 where the NAZIs wanted to invade, but could not as it was militarily not feasible; as the Swiss could muster around 15 -16 armed trained men per square Kilometer and the Germans 2.3 . Though the Swiss had much fewer people, they had well stocked defensive positions throughout the country and 5 years provisions for the entire population. We do not have that or the coordination. You face a dangerous, well funded and planned insurgency, more like Israel. This lady will explain what is Agenda 2030 is.... the video is from about an interview at the Alsberg Conference 6-7 years ago... in Denmark where she was speaking, th-cam.com/video/rqMe1DH3qrU/w-d-xo.html

Israel has 60 years of experience with our current situation in America. Dealing with hostile insurgencies driven by foreign interests, using domestic factions in the Palestinians. These riots and civil unrest are everyday things in the territories by domestic terrorists. We now face this too They have found intermediate force weapons are ideal for living with it. Using full military force is not feasible due to outside such as UN interests interference and support of the using 22 LR Ruger 10/22 with scopes to dissuade these types by shooting less-lethally in the foot or leg.... then when needed shooting for the head or chest... or shooting the numerous pitbulls dogs the hostile Palestinians use to harass defense operation. There is video of that around, I will not post links here as this forum might take them down...
Second with the ammo shortage and with ability to simply get on a plane and go else where leaving it all behind not commonly open one is faced with the situation as to Stalingrad and the holdout German forces... where depletion of your ammo and limits of hiding places, will lead to defeat and probable death. No one should be wasting ammo. Ammo cost is irrelevant in either a market where it is not available or production cannot keep up with demand... you will pay up... or run out and losses ability to defend yourself. I will relate though what you might face. I think probably you would simply stay in the home if you could, we could not... my opinion is you would face similar.
