I love my mantis x10 I’ve added a coolfire co2 barrel and laser ammo targets. I get about 15 shots out of a charge with 3 targets spread around the room it is a real eye opener and a lot of fun. A buddy was visiting last week (we are retired) swore it was better than simulators we used at work . I’ve recently added the laser academy to see how that will fit in to a training routine. The feed back is great and usable and you can do it in a bathrobe and slippers. Anyway we’ll worth it.
I have purschased the mantis x10 elite about 2 months ago. I have used it for live fire at the trap range. I have it on my beretta dt-11 , over and under shotgun. It has done a great job to supply me with my shooting actions. I went to my regular trap club on tuesday, i shot a 49. On thursday, i went to a trap club , in Niagara Falls,NY, that is not noted for easy to hit targets. They have a wider angle than the 34 degrees , for an ATA target. I shot a 50 there. No one was more amazed than i was. Then on friday, another trap clu, on Grand Island,NY, and i shot a pair of 48 's. The only thing different is that i have been using the mantis x10 elite, for every time i have shot trap. And i go over the results of all my shooting sessions. The errors i have when shooting are; stopping the gun, no follow through and picking up my head off the stock. I am working on each one of these errors, one at a time. Thank you, Mantis. It is like having a personal trainer standing next to me on each shot. I have been more consistent in my shooting.
how does it know where your "shots" hit in relation to the target...or does it. None of these videos seem to address that. Also, it seems you need a dry fire Mag and snap cap if you want to actually dry fire train...
The Mantis X Shooting Performance System sensor tracks all the movements while you are shooting or dry fire training and sends that data in real-time to your smartphone or tablet. The app analyzes, traces, diagnoses, and coaches you on how to improve your shooting technique. The sensor calculates a new point of aim with each shot, so you can use anything as your target.
More impressed than the demonstration at the show today. Of course the one at the show peaked my interest and I bought the X10 Elite, and the Mantis Laser Academy Training Kit. This Demo just reaffirmed that I made the right decision.
I just bought an X10. I'd like to say that your MantisX app for the ipad runs great on an M1 mac mini too, which lets me use a MUCH bigger screen for my dryfire training at home.
I am interested in the 10X system. Can you point me to any videos describing how to mount the device on various platforms, especially to a pistol magazine?
Are the X2, X3, and X10 Elite the same sensor unit, just with different accessories and software access? When are upgrades/unlocks going to be available for customers to upgrade X2 -> X3 -> X10 Elite?
They each have different hardware capabilities. If you want access to the features of the X10, you would need to purchase the X10. We don't have any upgrade options at this time outside of our trade-in option: mantisx.com/pages/trade-in-program
@@MantisX Thank you for the prompt response and excellent customer service! Thanks for confirming that the hardware is actually different, not just a software unlock, and the reminder about the trade-in/discount program. Keep up the great work!
I'm excited about the move and shoot feature! On another note, what size are the red circles on the last screen of the results? 1 inch diameter at 5 yards?
You don't buy mags to mount the MantisX device, you just buy adapters to fit your existing mag, if they offer one for your gun. If they don't, there's a "universal" one you stick on any mag that's flat on the bottom, using double -sided tape they include. Amazon has 'em.
The only issue I am having is using it with Rogers Tap Rack Training system, when i put the orange 9mm dummy head in the magazine and push the mag up, there is slop there. Not there in both my Smith And Wesson M & P Shield Plus Mags, with either live ammo or no ammo it's locked tight. Any ideas out there as to fix this issue with TRT tap rack aid dummy heads and the slop issue in the magazine as I am sure it's going to affect when I use the Mantis X10?
You can use anything as a a target. It records the movement of the pistol. The laser academy app uses targets you can download to score your shots. The pro version cost more but includes lifetime upgrades.
Why dont you have this product and the laser academy coupled together in a package with one app? Or is it aimply to sell more units and subs? As i can see the 2 working together.
I'd really like one of these. Bit costly for me. People will say well by the time you spend the money on shooting ammo... that would be true if I could actually afford to shoot ammo as well lmao
Are you manually resetting the trigger or are you using a DryFireMag or other system that that resets it? Most of the time this is resolved under the 'shot detection mode'. Please reach out to customer support for further assistance!
Kind of... but I'd recommend getting both. The Mantis will time a good variety of shots, but you probably won't have holster tension, making any draw drill not quite perfect
my range doesn't allow much but benchrest shooting(insurance), would like to use airsoft to practice "live" fire and other active movements in my garage instead. Do you have any recommendations (pros and cons)on airsoft gun selection-was thinking of something that uses CO2 cartridges( would consider green gas) that has a 'blowback slide'. My current real pistols include Glock 17, Sig 2022, S&W Shield Plus and 1911 to consider carry over learning into real life.

I am a fan of the Mantis X and it is a good value. Where the system lacks, in fact most handgun instruction, is the corrective action needed to fix the shooting issue the system points out. “Your heeling the the gun stop doing that”. That is not helpful to fix the issue. It is not much better than “ you are shooting bad, stop shooting bad”. Mantis needs to focus on this aspect of there system. I would recommend Ernest Langdon videos for good instruction.
Our system shows you the issue and the way to correct it. Simply click on the issue and an explanation of the issue as well as how to correct it will appear.
For close distances and a large target 16 inch diameter, I think a score of 60-70% would be on target. He mentioned at 25 yards, you would need a score 90% or better.
The sensor attaches to the rail on your firearm. If you don't have a rail on your firearm, you may need an adapter: mantisx.com/pages/rail-adapter-finder
@@MantisX thank for the reply, found a user video online which he showed how it connects to the rail. Fits on my stoeger str 9 and Glock 45, but not a sig p365.

I like this. How do I go about buying something like this? And is there a telephone number to talk to somebody? I really appreciate this. Never can get enough time practicing
The learning curve is too steep. I have owned my Mantis X10 for two months. I have yet to get any benefit because instructions are sparse; there is too much detail; and I don't understand why there are so many targets. Plus, it is self-evident from this video that the appeal of Mantis X10 is aimed at people who believe everything in life is served better by using an app. I am unconvinced. I am more inclined to believe there is no substitute for shooting real rounds at a real target range.
It’s not even necessarily just for firing most of the people that use it use it for quick draw drills where usually your more inclined to make a mistake drawing for your gun fast if your not experienced at it this is perfect for that as you don’t use live rounds of course real shooting will always be king for learning accuracy and your gun it’s not just for dry fire people use it for drawing from the hip/holster
There is no substitute for real ammo in real situations, but several things prevent that. This product seems to help with the financial aspect and travel aspect. No one would bother looking if they had a mountain of ammo and a backyard range.
There's no substitute for live ammo range time and it's not for people that thinks an app solves your problems. This system makes it so easy to see your faults and correct them. It's that simple. Also you said there's to many targets? Why not just be consistent and use the standard round bullseye, it's that simple. You can pick what targets you want to shoot. The app isn't making you shoot what u don't want. What do you shoot at?
Is this good for your gun to keep racking the slide / dry shooting over & over again? Im asking, not commenting…. still learning. Thanks!
it's perfectly safe for most modern firearms. However, we recommend contacting your gun manufacturer to see what they say.
Is there a way to use this with a revolver?

Pssst - @1:23, the word "diagnostic" is misspelled in the graphic.
good eye

Brilliant concept… add trigger reset for pistols to go over top…

So question…. Would this work out for zeroing out my red dots and sights just by dry firing?
we don't recommend using our systems to zero your weapons.
Hi, I have been thinking of getting a shot timer, would the x10 fill this need ?
Kind of... but I'd recommend getting both.

Is it as sensitive when it’s mounted to a laser / flashlight rail?
It will work no matter where it's mounted on the firearm.
Can i use to train for trap shooting with my shotgun ? If yes , in what way ?

"Open training" or "MantisX Benchmark" would work. Make sure to select "live", which hand, and orientation of the Mantis.
HOW MUCH IS IT?
$250, but seeing as it's November hopefully you might find it on sale for Black Friday from a secondary firearms vendor online.
How do you attach it to your mags?
There are two options: the universal magrail which uses two-sided adhesive VHB tape, or model-specific adapters that replace the magazine baseplate.
