- After Hank tried fixed gear racing at the 2019 Red Hook Criterium and Rad Race, he had a score to settle. So, for 2020, he's back in Berlin to take on the Rad Race Last Man Standing once again, and he's brought Manon along to tackle the Last Woman Standing. The flat bar guy who did that move literally killed the entire crowds mood from just that one thing you can see the shock on everyone because they just saw what happened but realized at the same time he can’t be disqualified or stopped since there was still another person standing if he hadn’t done that footage showed hank getting a lead
The look on Manon's face at the start; "I don't like this. I don't want to do this". Gun goes off; "I'm going to win this, get out of my way". Spose that's the competative insinct.
Her face totally changes whenever she's on the bike and in the zone.

Dirty tactics make this event way less cool than it should be. What's cool about forcing other people into barriers, riding right into them to get the better line, or just chopping their front wheel? Pretty daft there don't seem to be any rules

Yeah, like take that, you famous pretty boy TV guy. Put that in your camera and smoke it. You ain't smokin' me and showin' it on TV. And that's racing and don't I know from my BMX days--the competition was fierce and the races were short. And I never got close to a win, usually dusting myself off from getting elbowed and going down hard in a corner. And I was fine with it. I enjoyed the handful of races in which I competed as a Novice at National Bicycle Association events in Northern California in '79. And I had already won twice on the road, so that was my consolation prize. You can't win 'em all.

And that is some crazy BMX for adults, that flat-track Rad Race, and if you've got the time, they've got the pre-race brew, crazy too. And the two-rider showdown to settle the men's overall was a cool duel. Thanks for suiting up and racing and falling and crashing and planning to do it again.

Massive respect to Hank and Manon. It looks pretty intimidating and those drops were surprisingly high energy. You guys really eat your own dogfood for the channel. Hope you had some more of those beers after all that.
It's good to see you guys in the german fixed gear scene :) the whole race scene (crit races) goes more into technical courses and fun tracks and allowing wide riser bars ( just like we ride in the streets) and that's makes fixed gear racing so special. And the community of course :) you should check out fixed gear alleycats like the Maikätzchen in Hannover, it's even more just for fun and a big party.

when I was young racing bmx indoors in the winters, we'd spray our tires with AquaNet (hairspray) just before the race to eliminate tires slipping

Watched the final. Not serious at all. Eliminated racers were staying in for multiple laps. No DQ for wheel clipping. Redhook is a much more serious event. But I am really starting to enjoy those crit and alternarive formats. Onboard cameras also improves the experience. Continue on that GCN. Amazing job from Manon and Hank (just need to improve beer openning).

Im veeery knew into Fixed Gear riding and just realised that the rad race was 1kilometer far away from my home. Neeed too watch all the footage about fixed gear riding and improve my own skills to ride there one day

If you've never prepared for a race with a beer before, or had a beer during a race, you NEED to do an Alleycat bike race. Around here it's supposed to mimic a day in the life of a bike messenger, it's sorta like a scavenger hunt punctuated by drinking, smoking and other silly activities. Followed by a great party and sometimes prizes. You guys are more than welcome to come to winnipeg and check one out!
